Actor asks marketing team of his next to pull up their socks after rival's upcoming film garners more eyeballs

Known to work on one film at a time, this actor is pretty kicked about his upcoming film as it has been a while since he was last seen on the big screen. Everything about the project seemed perfect to him, but to his dismay, the trailer was panned by many. What’s bothering him more is that another actor’s film, which is slated to release on the same day, is hogging all the limelight.

All this while, he had been pretending to be happy about the response to his rival’s film and how the impending box office collision doesn’t matter to him. But those in the know reveal that he is a bundle of nerves.

A source says, “He is concerned that his film is not being talked about as much as his industry colleague’s project. Both films are very different from the usual Bollywood masala entertainers.

However, the skewed audience feedback to both promos has upset him. Even on social media and in trade circles, it is the other actor and his role that are being discussed more.”

Since box office business nowadays depends a lot on how one promotes a film, he wants the marketing team to come up with innovative strategies to strike a chord with moviegoers.

“The actor called an emergency meeting with the makers and the marketing team. He told them that they have to pull up their socks and re-design the entire publicity campaign. He also wants to be kept in the loop about all marketing plans,” adds the source.
