The time has come for you to take your pick, your pick among the best of 2012. And this time, we are bringing in the guys first. 2012 was not such a good year for the actors, where real good acting performances are concerned. Sure we had records broken at the box office, but as far as seeing a film and thinking that this actor can really ACT; competition is not that high. So as expected, actors with the biggest hit at the box office will be nominated. Let’s get started and please cast your vote below.
Best Actor of Bollywood Nominations in 2012
Irrfan Khan – Paan Singh Tomar
‘Paan Sing Tomar’ was film that was made based on a real life story. Irrfan Khan played the lead in this film with perfection. According to him, it seemed only fair that India picked this film as its submission of foreign film at the Oscars next year. But, India choose to go with ‘Barfi’ with was full of copied/inspired scenes from many old films.
Hrithik Roshan – Agneepath
Many people didn’t see this happening, they didn’t expect the remake of ‘Agneepath’ to be the first big hit of 2012 and the biggest hit in Hrithik Roshan’s career. Hrithik has only ‘Agneepath’ this year, as he took time to recover from his back pain that he suffered while filming this film.
Ranbir Kapoor – Barfi!
Ranbir Kapoor is the current favourite of the award season. It’s a trend started with ‘Rockstar’ that saw Ranbir beat out other senior actors and win the best actor award. In 2012, his only film ‘Barfi!’ released and since then, many people have already cast their vote on him as the best actor. Will he be your choice too?
Shah Rukh Khan – Jab Tak Hai Jaan
Shah Rukh Khan was in the news a lot this year, but as far as his releases go, he had only ‘Jab Tak Hain Jaan’ on his 2012 calendar. Still ‘Jab Tak Hain Jaan’ was one of the biggest releases of 2012, which brought Shah Rukh to this list of nominations.
Salman Khan – Dabangg 2 – Ek Tha Tiger
These days, the best actors list is never complete without the mention of Salman Khan. This year proved to be the best Salman Khan year in Bollywood. ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ broke a new record and his last release of 2012 ‘Dabangg 2’ broke another record as well. He has proved to be a favourite among Indians, both local and overseas. It’s his time at the box office and he’s emerging as the winning Khan now!
Aamir Khan – Talaash
‘Talaash’ was the silent big hit at the box office. It was probably the biggest film to have the least promotion and that was the way Aamir Khan wanted it. He wanted people to be curious about the film. Despite the film being a really huge hit, some people were disappointed with its ending. If you have seen it, then you will know what I’m talking about. Will Aamir get your vote as the best actor this year?
Ajay Devgan – Bol Bachchan – Son of Sardaar
This year was all about comedy and 100 crores for Ajay Devgan. ‘Bol Bachchan’ and ‘Son of Sardaar’ was his two films that crossed 100 crores individually this year. Despite his fight with Yash Raj Films, Ajay Devgan laughed all the way to the bank last Diwali. He does deserve a nomination for playing two different comic roles in two films in a year.
Akshay Kumar – Oh My God! – Rowdy Rathore
Akshay Kumar was back this year with three hits. But only two films deserve a nomination and these are ‘Oh My God’ and ‘Rowdy Rathore’. Akshay is always nominated, but he never wins any. Is he your pick for this year?
