‘Rangoon’ was supposed to be released last year, but they had it postponed to be released this year because of all the special effects needed in the film. The trailer did release a couple of weeks back and the VFX does look amazing, so it was a good decision. Aside from that, this movie was also in the news because of its lead actors going at it publicly.
Shahid Kapoor and Kangana Ranaut had some sort of war going on in the papers with he said she said kind of things. Shahid has since cleared the air, so let’s just wait for Kangana to strike back.
In the meantime, Shahid gave an interview to talk about what it’s like to work with Vishal Bhardwaj and Sanjay Leela Bhansali. He also spoke about his wife’s first appearance on Koffee with Karan. Speaking of his wife Mira, poor girl had her husband outted her as a serial farter on national television.
Shahid kept mentioning how he’s more than 10 years older than her, maybe he should start acting that way too. He also recently made fun of Mira’s phone habits on Instagram. Well, come to think of it, it’s better than those half-naked shots he used to post for no reason!
Shahid Kapoor Interview
Shahid on Vishal Bhardwaj
Vishal sir saw something in me, which nobody else did. He gave me an opportunity to rediscover myself. I wouldn’t have done Udta Punjab, had I not done Kaminey (2009). As I saw that side to myself, I realised that it can work for me.
Shahid on wanting to do something different
There was a time when actors used to do the same thing again and again, and become superstars. I don’t think that time is relevant anymore. Today, we have reached a point where all of us are looking for different content. Actors want to be surprised, excited.
Shahid on working with Sanjay Leela Bhansali
He drives you to do your best. I thrive for that because you are pushed beyond whatever you are used to. I love working with him.
Shahid on Deepika and Kangana
Both these girls have great potential. It’s great to be working with actors who are at the peak of their careers. It’s a good time to be working with actors that challenge you. I feel good about myself. I feel I’m in a good space as an actor.
Shahid on 2017
I’ve got to get up every day and do better. These years are extremely crucial for finding the trajectory of my life. Now that I have become a family man, I have all the more reason to do this not just for myself, but for them as well. And there’s nothing more inspiring than that feeling.
Shahid on Mira’s debut on Koffee With Karan
After the episode, everybody told me that it was nice to see me normal and settled’. When Karan called and said that he would like us to be on his show together, my first question to Mira was if she would be comfortable doing something like that. But she was happy to do it. I was happy as it went well.
