Akshay Kumar is the kind of man who makes his wife happy

Did we not tell you about the amazing turnaround of Akshay Kumar’s life? A recap available right HERE. This just proves that the memory of the audience is short and the PR people know that. Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar are proofs of that theory. With Akshay, his wife, Twinkle Khanna, probably wanted the image change. That’s why from being a private couple, they suddenly started publicising their love for each other on social media.

The results were good, the media started calling them the loving couple or some crap like that. Then, her book released and was successful. Her writing pieces too in the local newspaper generated good responses. This is like a second calling for her, a way for her to feel important and be relevant in the media. And he helped her achieve that.

It’s good for her, if she knew how to get him to turn their lives around. Well, let’s be clear. In the media and public, their lives have certainly turned around but we doubt anything has changed in private. Don’t get us wrong, we are not jealous or anything. It’s just that we can smell hypocrisy from this whole thing.

Recently, Akshay Kumar was interviewed by Mumbai Mirror and in his interview, he talks about how all he wants is to make his wife happy. Maybe she’s the one, who wanted him to have all these affairs, who knows? He also spoke about the mockery that his National Award win generated and how Priyadarshan already gave a reply on this whole thing. To be fair, all Priyadarshan could do was brought up the fact that when Amitabh Bachchan won for ‘Piku’, it was because of his good friend, Ramesh Sippy, who was the head of jury.

We think Priyadarshan is just saving face, he did want to award Akshay, but at least it could have been for ‘Airlift’. Akshay also talked about box office clashes and how it should not destroy personal relationships. He should tell that to Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgan and the Roshans. But clashes don’t affect Akshay, because he has like a gazillion releases in a year.

If he really cared, he would have been pissed at SRK for destroying his films. In this interview, he also spoke about his role in ‘Padman’. We do hope with this movie, they help the millions of girls that don’t have proper access to supplies when they have their menses. Also, someone should ask him if he’s ever going to move to Canada since he got himself and his whole family the Canadian citizenship? We are interested to know. Anyways, check out Akshay Kumar aka Rajiv Bhatia talking about all these things right here below.

    Akshay Kumar Interview

Akshay on winning the National Award for Best Actor

I’m very happy. I consider it the blessings of my parents and the good wishes of my family. Mrs Funnybones (wife Twinkle Khanna) who always teased me on not getting any awards is happy and my happiness lies in making her happy.

    Akshay on Priyadarshan favouring him

I have completed 25 years in the film industry and I’ve never called in a favour to bag a movie or an award. As for Priyan favouring me, I think he has answered that question in your newspaper. (In an interview dated April 8, Priyadarshan told Mirror, “Akshay Kumar deserved the award and we gave it to him. There were a total of 38 jury members with me on this. How can you question the decision of so many people? Ramesh Sippy headed the jury last year. When he gave Best Actor to Amitabh Bachchan for Piku why didn’t anyone question him?”)

    Akshay on box office clashes

Box-office clashes are professional hazards and ideally they should not have any personal implications. In a situation where we have 200 movies to be accommodated in 52 weeks, clashes have become unavoidable. I’m not willing to draw blood or go to war over a movie.

Akshay on superstars owning dates of public holidays

I released Airlift on Republic Day last year and Rustom on Independence Day. Both films were successful but I still do not think I own these dates. As I said earlier, these are good weekends to cash in, but they most certainly do not belong to me or any other actor.

Akshay on Toilet – Ek Prem Katha

Toilet – Ek Prem Katha is a satire, but it is also an entertainer. It is such a pity that 54 per cent of India still goes to the fields to relieve itself. This practice not only endangers them but also those around them. If women in rural India had a toilet in their homes, we’d have 30 percent less rapes in the country. We really need to change the statistics if we are to become a safe, progressive country.

    Akshay on Padman

Padman is based on the life of social entrepreneur Arunachalam Muruganatham whose efforts towards making a low-cost sanitary towel machine was recognised by the government. My wife sourced the story in her book, The Legend of Lakshmi Prasad. I am proud to play him and propagate such a sensitive message. I don’t know if India is ready for the message but I most certainly am ready to impart it. I’m a male feminist. In my opinion women should be nurtured not bullied, respected not threatened, looked after and not abused.

    1. Wait. First I would like to say that big b didn’t deserve the award for piku. It was a simple role. Oh please. Just because he’s old there’s no need to pity him. As for akshay , they certainly know how to materialize on their love to make sure everything works out for them.
