Bollywood Blind Item – January 2018 3

The blind item below answers the question that fans of this superstar leading lady, a legend in her own right, have been asking since the beginning. Fans and other people have been asking the same question about this young lady and it seems that Mumbai Mirror has the answer for all of you.

What we are puzzled about is, why was an audition not done first? Even Alia Bhatt had to audition, so why did the company not do it this time? Would it have been an insult to this veteran actress? It seems they did a look test and hopped on the sets. It is really unprofessional considering how much money is put into the making of films.

Maybe this veteran actress is paying this company for the launch, who knows. This might explain why no audition or preparation took place. The only thing we heard they did in preparation for this movie was take a dance class. Perhaps, all those trips to the gym should be stopped and an acting class should be signed instead.

What a mess! Check out who Mumbai Mirror is talking about in the blind item below. It makes sense now why the mentor was pushing them to pretend to be in love, to draw the attention away from their acting skills!

    Bollywood Blind Item – January 2018 3

THEIR film was announced with much fanfare, and the first look of the movie poster heralded a new and beautiful young couple to the industry. But no one had anticipated what was to come. It seems that the too-pretty heroine of this love saga, a star child to boot, can’t act. Sure she is a great dancer and has several young followers, but the histrionics leave much room for improvement. So we hear the producer has given the film’s shoot a month-long break, hoping the lead pair warms up to each other, and the hero can give her a few tips too.

    1. All nepotism haters are Jhanvi defenders now . They are projecting sridevi’s Innate talent to Jhanvi . KJo is right in investing in star kids after all , everyone pre- assigning credibility to Jhanvi is an evidence we all can see .
Sometimes we need to look inwards than castigate KJo .
It’s like Jhanvi inherited sridevi fans .

      1. Lol dear i was never a sri fan. I think u need to look inwards and find out why 2 disagreeable comments on ur opinion has riled u up so much. Do u have personal enmity towards jahnvi?? I was just trying to support a young, girl whose being criticised for bad acting even though her movie hasnt even released yet. And that doesnt make me a jahnvi defender. It makes me a sensible person. Continue on your diatribe against jahnvi.

        1. Look who is talking on defending a little girl… u called kajol’s underage girl who is not even into movies “Ugly” . you throw so much filth on HR … yeah ! ur the sensible one here. I am not riled up as much you do calling people names. Save it lady… practice before preach.

    2. Okay some bling fans go oppose nepotism so much now are suddenly Jhanvi fans . With half reading comprehension skills giving examples of Alia like they made a stellar discovery. Alia’s life has not exactly been like Jhanvi . Did we even hear about Alia before student no 1 movie ? Did we see her everyday in gossip sites what designers she wore ? I can go on … and I still doubt some will get the gist .

      1. Lol kiran chill. Its not just alia. we have also given u examples of darsheel, zaira, kangana, rajat barmecha. Who are u to assume jahnvi has no life experiences? Did alia grow up in a small tiwn so she cud do an udta Punjab? I said maybe jahnvi will turn out to be a capable actress u think im supporting nepotism! Should i hate on every starkid for no reason then. Do u really think each and every blind here is 100% true!!

        1. i was asking mere questions where will her acting talent will come from . innate talent, method acting or life experiences. I guess i do not have to tell u how Alia did udta… if you view it from a certain way…i was actually providing defence for Jhanvi…for lack of acting skill that this blind says. I already said every blind has equal chances to be false… be it on Jhanvi or hrithik roshan or anyone else.
I know what i am taking about …i absolutely have no need for anyone to provide me with clarity…I am here to gossip with like minded people. You may or maynot be one. I am chill and amusing myself .

    3. I really hope nepotism just stops or else Bollywood will go downhill fast.
These star kids have lived in their bubble all their life, haven’t stepped a foot outside of Bandra and have been served everything on a silver platter. They are already damn rich and wealthy but still are greedy to join Bw to gain more money and fame.
. But what about those people who have struggled their whole life to make their dream reality, people who have moved to Mumbai to make a career, who actually dared to dream.in this unfair world. People who actually have a talent which can make India proud. They will never get a chance becuase in this industry only name and money matters!!

      1. What are you saying. Every nepotism fighter is defending Jhanvi here…even if the blind says she isnt happening…acting wise.
Good acting has to come from somewhere…
        1. Innate talent 2. Extreme hardwork…method acting 3. Enough life experiences and some acting skill to bring out the feel of the situation. Likely Alia possess one of these since she is good actress.

Acting school wont make you superstars just like attending school will not make everyone toppers or successful. It just provides you with tools.
The rich and powerful will always have access to things that others wont have.

    4. Even priyanka Chopra is all social network popularity and fluff. She has no real career in us. Brown ppl are the flavour of the season and thats why shes getting so much attention. Otherwise she was just a two bit aging Bollywood actress who two heroes had stopped working with. So why are people hating on jahnvi just bcuz shes popular on social media?

      1. brown people are the flavour of the season..!!wow..!!well if priyanka was a 2 bit actress, what does that make jhanvi–a 0 bit actress..?? :p

priyanka has proved her worth thru some freakishly awesome perfomances and owned the screen too many times..shes working reallhy hard and has done some good bad ugly shit in her long career but she survived it all and how !! shes one talented actress..cant even compare jhanvi with her, atleast not yet..too early to make such comparisions just because they use social media accounts..like common now i use twitter, sushma swaraj uses twitter..does tht mean u can compare both of us..its funny u think ppl hate on her for being famous on social media..no ppl dont hate her firstly, hate is a big word..ppl simply arent impressed with her and dont like her..reason not being social media but hardwork, talent, passion, struggle, stunning looks.

        1. Pc is nothing but a two bit actress in Hollywood doing crap movies and crap tv show. Just bcuz its cool to be Liberal in Hollywood so, everybody is fawning over her like shes some great woman. She will soon be replaced by another flavour of the season.

    5. As, long as wooden actors like sid malhotra and jackie are successful in Bollywood, gym sessions will be more important than acting classes. We as an audience need to mature.

    6. Nowadays being an actor in Bollywood is like an afterthought. These nepokids all want fame, popularity, etc. so being in films is just a side vehicle. Their social media, PR, and “fans” matter more than actual acting. Rarely is the case now where you have true actors in Bollywood – where the actual craft matters more than gym/airport looks, nonstop film/self promotion, and other unnecessary BS. No wonder the audience is catching on quick to all this fake self attention seekers! I’m curious how this film will fare – at least Ishaan looks promising if Majid Majidi saw something in him. And maybe it’s a good thing he doesn’t “look” like a star – I want to be able to relate to those on screen and I can’t relate to a pretentious, plastic, 20 year old ha

      1. I wished he looked like a star. How will we tolerate another sushant singh rajput? Ishaan doing Majids movie is, no big deal. Even pratik babbar did dhobi ghat, and people expected him to be Daniel day Lewis.

    7. How old is she ? what life experiences does she have to emote ? What kind of emotions has she experienced so far…where will they come from.

Director : Imagine being in true young love….imagine being poor and rejected, experiencing heart break.
      Jhanvi : ummm

Has she been a good student in acting school ? why does she want to be an actress…I guess she loves the adulation and the idea of being a star. So far all she did was to parade in nice clothes. Ofcourse she has no idea or clarity or even talent. All she has is the means to do a movie.

Sairat ? I hope its an adaptation of it . where Jhanvi can play rich -upper class- URBAN-cosmopolitan girl(original version girl is not from Urban setting) Maybe and just maybe she can pull through.

All star kids have to be hardworking enough to be up for method acting if they want to survive. There is no other way.

      1. How old is she ? what life experiences does she have to emote ? What kind of emotions has she experienced so far…where will they come from.
How old was alia when she did udta Punjab and highway? “She was great in those movies. Maybe this blind is fake and jahnvi ends up surprising us like alia. If sid malhotra abd sonam kapoor can survive in Bollywood i dont think jahnvi will have any trouble doing so, whether she knows acting or not is irrelevant. Thats the plain truth.

        1. tsk tsk how old was Zaira Wasim in Secret Superstar, Darsheel Safary in TZP, Rajat Barmecha in Udaan, Kangana in Gangster, Alia in Highway, Sridevi or any other good young artist? Sri should send the girl to a real acting class

        2. Read my last statement . Along with my statement in midddle . That will answer about Alia . First Jhanvi does not have life experiences since she is very young. This whole blind is about she is not blazing any guns with her acting , clearly not talented .

Some people here are simply taking a statement out of context and giving me examples of Alia … I expected it . But somehow I also expected you will understand how Alia is inherently different than Jhanvi ‘s case .

          1. I really don’t know whyxi should assume jahnvi is different from alia when it comes to growing up experiences.

        3. Did I say anything about surviving ? Some star kids do some don’t . Eesha dell, abhishek and so many did not . Did I not say star kids need to be hardworking enough . Now if you talk about this blind being fake … there is chance that every single blind out there is fake .

          1. Abhishek and esha were neither great actors nor star material. So, obviously they flopped. Sonam, sid tiger arjun are still working. Thats why i think jahnvi will survive as after surgery she is looking like an actress. Acting abilities are irrelevant.

    8. On an entirely different note though (don’t mock me for this question, it has just been in my mind for some time now), I have seen most star kids attending Dhirubhai Ambani International School. I don’t live in Mumbai so I may be wrong but is this school even good (coz haven’t heard of it until recently)? Is it just for monetary benefits that the stars enrol their children in this school? (you know, financial backing from the Ambanis et al)

      1. Before the existence of this school, they used to send their kids to other international schools. When Nita Ambani opened up this school, most likely she asked these stars or suggested them to enrol their kids there. They are pretty powerful in Mumbai and have helped stars finance their films, so there’s no way they can say no to her.

Nita has some kind of obsession with Bollywood people. She likes them and their company. She made that school function look like some kind of award show function.

        1. Also, I think the school has that atmosphere convenient for star and other industrialist kids… Earlier children would be sent abroad, now they can stay at home..

      2. No one goes to a school like Ambani International for a superlative education. They go there for the snob value and social connections they can leverage in the future. Do you think any of those kids can get through IITs, IAS, or even the National Talent Search Exams (NTSE)?

        1. Just imagine if the Birlas would have funded these BW hotshots on the condition that their children clear the BITSAT and get admissions in BITS Pilani. It would be hilarious seeing them kids.

    9. I’ve often wondered why Sri would want these for her daughters. She began acting at the age of 4, and was the main earner in her household. By her own admission, she was a very shy and lonely child, who hated crowds. Granted that her daughter is not a child anymore, but Sri must have some idea of the dark side of Bollywood, where actresses are frequently used and abused.

One of my acquaintances is the best friend of a star-daughter. The daughter’s mother ran away from home in her youth to Bombay with starry dreams. She ended up becoming an extremely popular actress, dominantly in the 70’s. She worked with the likes of Dilip Kumar, Guru Dutt, Nargis, The actress was so traumatized by the treatment of women in the industry that she married outside the industry and forbade her daughter from attending filmy parties, or having any Bollywood aspirations. Instead, she had her daughter educated and married off to a respectable family in her youth. The star-daughter kept the identity of her mother a secret and my acquaintance was shocked to discover who her mother was, as the daughter was always dressed and behaved like a normal down to earth middle-class lady.

I always thought that Sri would want the same for her daughters, a good education and a stable, relaxed life instead of jumping from set to set.

      1. @kali,I can think of three possibilities here –
Maybe Sri thought she can guide her daughter well… She can let her daughter be a glamorous star without being taken advantage … Her connections can protect her daughter from any dark things that can happen…

Nowadays kids have their own mind and maybe janhvi had desire to be an actress and Sri is just supporting her.. Though I am not sure how capable she is..

Thirdly, only those yesteryear actresses or actors are remembered whose progeny exist in bollywood as of now… Eg shatrughan sinha, Rakesh Roshan, etc are still in news due their children. Had their children not in bollywood, they would soon have been forgotten.. So, Sridevi might have this thing to stay relevant and in public eye due to her children… Sri is very ambitious by the way…

      2. Maybe it’s the effect of seeing other star kids and how they became popular. Fame is a bad drug! In Sri’s case, it can be for financial reasons as well. Who else is currently earning in that family aside from Sri, who just got back into acting. Also, let’s not forget that perhaps Janhvi is persistent and she is the one, who wanted to become an actress. But then again, Sri already had her daughters go under the knife years ago, she must have been preparing them to “pretty” to face the cameras.

      3. Sounds like waheeda rehmans daughter. Why wouldn’t sri want them to join movies. The money and fame they earn is stupendous. Sri will watch over her kuds obviously. Besides if the daughters want to be stars sri, cannot do anything about it.

        1. Close but no cigar. It wasn’t Waheeda Rehman. Waheeda never ran away from home to be an actress. Furthermore, Waheeda’s husband, Kamaljeet, was an actor.I do not want to disclose the identity of this actress, but I hope it will suffice to say that she did work with Waheeda though. And she was fastidious in ensuring that her children were never on set.

    10. What’s worse is that the movie poster has also been released. So either a miracle happens and Jahnvi acts superbly, the movie bombs at the box office or it is shelved, which shall be mighty embarrassing for all those involved in it.
I don’t think you can replace the actress, however the stage in which the film is if the poster has been launched. I think it shall be unprofessional to do so. Your views admin?
P.S. Funny how eager they were to release the poster. It’s the first time I have heard that the poster is released before the film shooting has started.

      1. I remember reading somewhere that Sridevi was super upset with Kjo for taking ages to announcing the project starring her precious. I think the result was this poster, which looked like a rushed job anyways.

      2. KJo will never allow the movie to be shelved. He will lose face and his friendship with Sri. It’s why he’s asking them to put up a “being in love” act to divert the attention away.

        1. But the ‘being in love’ act is looking fake.. Everyone can see it…

Also, I read somewhere that Sri asked Karan to make the announcement.. After a few days, the movie was announced….
If think Sara’s second film will be with Karan..

        2. I think it’s high time KJo gets a reality check. If he keeps on favoring like this, he shall end up losing his money in a very short time span (given his fashionable expenses). And public grace is a far cry

        3. Unless you have some insider info… why will KJo lose his face with Sri. I would bet on Sri requesting KJO to launch Jhanvi than the other way round.

      3. Even student of the year posters were out before it started shooting. Alia was plump in her introducing alia poster. I saw it in Delhi times. Kjo does it to create buzz.

    11. Such is a situation when Nepotism debate starts, there r whole lot of bunch of talents getting wasted, just coz they dont have any bollywood connections.

      1. There is no talent getting wasted. This movie is being made in first place to launch Jhanvi…otherwise there is no sairat remake.
Actors use their money – contacts to launch their kids , they choose specific themed movies that they think is right launch for their kids. How do outside talent come into picture here ?

Imagine this …. There are many talented kids who are unable to go to school , will we all stop funding our own less talented children and send unprivileged but very talented kids to school instead.

Obviously its not Kjo’s or Sri’s job to ensure outside talent gets a chance. Forget outsiders BW is not even kind to yesterday’s stars who are not relevant anymore. Its artists responsibility to make a breakthrough … if they are lucky and destiny smiles on them maybe they will see the light of the day. Not just BW everywhere its the same …luck, right place right time.

I am sure there is talent far greater than Sridevi, Madhuri, Aish, deepika, kangana , khans, bachchans etc out there… sadly none of them ever could catch a break.

This looks more like personal investment than nepotism.Who’s buck is at stake ?

    12. Being good at acting should be the first priority for any newcomers… Janhvi should have learnt how to act instead of appearing all glam-sham.. There are enough glamorous ladies in Bollywood with wooden expressions (eg Katrina,Ash,etc).. What we need now is proper actors and not models…. Hoping she improves her acting..

Btw,what did Janhvi do in Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute? Was she wasting her time or was learning acting?

        1. That’s the sad part… They attend acting schools yet can’t emote… It’s better they make the most of the opportunity they get and learn acting.. Not all get to attend acting schools…

Now I am doubtful of this institute’s ability..

        2. You can do very short acting courses (3-6 months I believe) in the above institutions, and the admissions are pretty easy. They’re not weighty qualifications unlike acting degrees from Juilliard, Tisch School of the Arts or Yale School of Drama (USA), LAMDA and RADA (UK), NIDA and WAAPA (Australia).

      1. i smhw dont even find her stunning or gorgeous..shes pretty but like a simple girl next door way and doesnt have the looks of deepika or kat or sonam or ash..she doesnt fit tht league based on looks..her social media accounts might..

        1. Not even Deepika’s sister has her looks! But jokes aside, she’s new just like Sonam once was. They used to say Sonam looks like Prachi Desai. In some time, people will warm up to her looks as well.

        2. Shes quite pretty. Ishaan looks luke another sushant rajput to me.. Hell get only small town truck driver roles. Why is kjo giving him a break??

      2. extended holiday in LA. nothing more. Create an image she learnt acting and make us believe she learnt her craft that her acting is supposed to be that way.

      3. Even harshwardhan kapoor studied film writing in california. Anybody with money can study abroad. Kareena went to harvard.

        1. HAHAHAHA Harsh Kapoor and film writing HAHAHA thismade my day. That pseudo intellectual Daniel Day Lewis wannabe is sooooo annoying, he should just quit.
