His last hit film was in 2013 and that too was in a sequel with an ensemble cast, so he wasn’t really responsible for the film’s success. It does explain why for the years after that he tried and tried, but all he ended up doing was making producers lose money, including him. To be honest, it’s not like he was a big star or something. He did try to make it on his own when he was younger, but things didn’t really go his way. He looked like his mother and had not a macho voice. This was back then in an era when Ajay Devgan, Akshay Kumar and Sunil Shetty were around, so having this guy around was a bit odd. Things started getting better for him when he took supporting roles.
We do think that he got back in the limelight in a big way due to the media attention on his relationship with this actress. The minute they got involved and were open about it, the media was just going crazy. Maybe it was unbelievable for a top actress, who broke up with her boyfriend of many years, get together with this divorced actor, who also just broke up with his Italian live-in girlfriend. That’s why the media went crazy!
With all the spotlight on them, this actor got lead roles again. Some worked and some didn’t. It’s been almost five years now and his daughter will be making her debut soon. He will have to make do by playing other types of roles now, no more the lead roles opposite top actresses. Maybe that’s why he’s happy that his son is getting attention from the media, this might just resurrect his career again.

LADY Luck doesn’t want to smile upon this talented but ageing actor anytime soon. His last few films have been famous duds, and his next film has a promising new director. The problem is that he in the lead role, and needs a co-star to play the second-lead. Thanks to the actor’s poor box-office fate, no one seems to want to sign on. It’s rather unfair we think, as second chances come when you least expect them.

I actually used to like Saif as an actor, not star. I thought he was someone who tried to do things differently and didn’t want the limelight. I didn’t like him for intelligence but being a sane one.
But that nepotism letter to Kangana was such a blooper that I can’t see him the same way again.
Admin, are saifeena actually a normal couple? At present they’re the only married couple out there, not involved in cheating, very much in love and not faking it for image types.
But I also remember reading a blind here which suggested Saif is gay. So is this a marriage of convenience too?

ok…saif has been in industry since like 35 years …he is in his 50’s. People with superb acting skills do not last this long.He improved a lot in certain roles…or rather he can play with some ease given certain roles. But, he never was a crowd puller , he needed other hero or ensemble cast to add on to box office along with him . There were never Box office opening in his name only.
Just because there is a khan in his name…he is not in league of Khan trio(Aamir, SRK, Salman). He had numerous chances to improve and gain some experience over decades which so many people with raw talent do not get. I am not surprised where he is now…Its clear he has to pick movies with multiple star cast. He can add value but he never or will ever will be core of any project if it has to be a success.
Even superstars like Rajesh Khanna and Amitabh Bachchan(more recently SRK too) had to eat humble pie when their time is over. Saif- do some character roles.
Also, these days there is heavy competition to be a part of ensemble cast and character roles also. With so many Nepo’s out there …there is stiff competition even within Nepo’s . Everyone including Bobby deol – Rishi- Amitabh are vying for character roles. Even KJO cannot employ so many people…producers might get frustrated with all these so called friends and might as well hire an outsider to avoid headache.
Kareena thinks Saif is the only foreign educated guy in bollywood. Someone should tell her that, actors like Parineeti and Ranveer got foreign degrees, yet unlike the classy nawab they don’t brag about it. Ironically Saif never went to university, yet people think he is so well educated. Furthermore Kareena thinks Saif is a historian…lol
Also the way SSR keeps on talking about how he and Kriti bonded because they both studied engineering and they way he show-off the philosophy and engineering books he reads and write pseudo intellectual stuff on social media, I thought he actually was an engineer by education. But very recently I found out that he is a drop-out where as Kriti actually finished her studies. But you don’t see Kriti bragging or showing off unlike SSR.
I guess those who are really smart don’t need to brag. You can make it out from the way they talk. In fact I think Soha is more articulate in her answers. And you don’t need a foreign degree or a foreign accent to be intelligent or just because you have one doesn’t mean you are intelligent. Someone urgently needs to tell the bollywood people that.

@leap True that. If one is a star kid, even if one is a high school drop out, they will still be treated by the bollywood fraternity as more educated than degree holding outsiders. Just because he went to a boarding school in UK (he never went to uni) Saif is promoted as a well educated and well read. And people believe this hype..
I really like Saif and I consider him talented. but it seems to me that he is ruined, therefore all responsibility for the money lies with Bebo. I argue with people, they say that Saif is a rich heir, he is a nawab, but money has the property of ending if they are not replenished. Saif used to live on a broad foot and of course the money is over, there is no income. so Bebo went to work so quickly. and further. I hate all these blah blah blah about kids, first it was SRK, then Shahid and now Bebo. does this make them more popular?

IS Saif really a reader or is it just a pretense to come accross as intelligent? In all of his interviews I have seen he looks like he is trying too hard to look very intelligent and funny but hardly has any opinion. Doesn’t give a straight forward answer just tries to play safe all the time
You can actually track Saif via the media before he met Bebolah and after. He suddenly went from the good-for-nothing divorced husband to a sophisticated Nawab! That’s what is hilarious! And he bought into all that.

Maybe he should focus on Netflix, make great shows and then make a comeback on the big screan.
He has really matured as an actor over the last one and a half decade.
