Does anyone care if co-stars date each other? By anyone, we mean the audience. Do they care? Does it matter? Have you ever purchased a ticket to see a film just because the actors were dating each other? Looking at how things are now, we miss the time when actors used to hide their relationship and pretend they are brother and sister to each other. Well that’s a bit too far, but so are all the fake relationships that Bollywood people are cooking up these days. It has become tiring and exhausting because they keep on trying to make us all believe in their love story.
You know what it is like when you take a lie so long and far and you can’t stop because you know if you do, people will catch you on it. This is what they are doing these days. That’s why don’t be surprised if they get engaged or even married, it’s all part of the plan. The blind item below is by Rajeev Masand. Now, these two have been pushed to date each other since they started shooting this film. You all remember the blind items about how Kebab Jo wanted them to create the hype surrounding their relationship just to take the attention away from their, mostly her, acting skills. Sadly, her mother passed away (still can’t believe she is not here) and all PR strategies were forgotten and not used because they all knew people would go to watch this film out of curiosity.
See, the thing is this girl has a boyfriend. She had one during the time that she was shooting this film. The boyfriend used to tag along everywhere with her and her family. This guy has been with her for a long time and by long time, we mean pre-cosmetic-surgery days. So now, the question is: was he asked to disappear until the hype surrounding this film dies down or did they truly break-up?
Speaking of dating, MM reported earlier this week that her male co-star in her debut film was dating one of the two young girls, who is debuting in the sequel of Kebab Jo’s first newcomers-only film. Quite a small world of nepotism, after all. About this male newcomer, did you notice how he avoided mentioning his father’s name during interviews? He mentioned his step-brother a lot and even said that he was a father-figure to him. His mother too gave an interview praising the first son and not mentioning the second son’s father at all.

As it turns out, the answer to the niggling question, ‘Are they dating?’ is ‘yes’. For some weeks now, there have been whispers, not to mention open speculation in Mumbai tabloids, about whether the two are romantically involved. Recently launched together in a Hindi movie, the couple have revealed terrific chemistry off screen.
Insiders at the studio that has produced the film say the pair—who started out as strangers, then became friends—‘got close’ during the film’s making ‘as most newcomers do’. One source points out that the experience of making one’s first film is so unique and challenging that two people going though it at the same time inevitably find themselves drawn together.
The source adds that the two may be infatuated with each other for the moment, but like another pair launched by the same studio some years ago, they are likely to drift apart as they move on to other projects. Apparently, the young actors in question have made no promises of undying, lifelong companionship. “They’re mature and intelligent and they understand that they have long lives and careers ahead, and that nothing is permanent,” says the source.

They might have started off as a PR couple but i think the difference is their chemistry was smokin’ hot right from the start. And fans/audiences could see the relationship evolve from sparks flying during ram-leela to the much more mature vibe during bajirao-mastani – if you see their interviews during BM promos they had this air of two people very much at ease with each other.
I think the reason people are reluctant to ship Aloobir is Ranbir especially looks very jaded and spaced out when he talks about it, like he’s reading off a script..in general he’s been looking very out-of-sorts since the break up with Kat, am i right?
@london thumakdha My issue with calling RSDP a pr couple is because that means they were a manufactured relationship which it was not. They always had that chemistry, attraction between them, it was a matter of time before they started dating. They definitely used their chemistry/relationship for pr of their movies . For that I agree to call them pr couple.
So many people still watch their promo stuff. I still get so much RSDP videos/pics on my insta explore page and yet I never follow a shipper account. And sometimes end up watching them even though I have seen them already.
I don’t know wheather it coincided with her depression phase but it must have. Them celebrating new years 2014 and DP birthday together kinda made it very official to me. Also DP agreeing to be part of AIB roast where nothing was left to the imagination regarding the nature of their relationship further proved it to me. Bear in mind, this is my own assumption, I might be wrong about this whole timeline analogy, so hope they open up about their relationship/courtship after marriage so we know for sure. As someone who like them and seen/read most of the stuff they have done for so long I just need some answers too.. Maybe after that might turn a shipper.lol..

@guest RS andDP situation is very different.Its that they were not a serious relationship at first that later turned serious. My timeline for when they got serious was early 2014.
It was RS who wooed SP and chased that DP finally started dating. RS always had the hots for DP. Back in 2011 he went to a party and when Dum maro dum was on reportedly said to RK that DP is the hottest girl RK dated. (This was a party he attended with Anu). It was very obvious he will woo her when he got the chance. (He even talks about some award ceremony incident later BM promotion) They first met and talked on Ramleela workshops and SLB wanted them to hangout so they will know each other before shooting. When they were spotted together so often RS and DP were shipped as a couple by fan even before they started dating. They were totally hooking up by late 2012/early 2013. The gossip/blind items back then stated the same. .

@guest I think you did not read what I wrote carefully. I said they were shipped way before than they started dating by shippers because they were spotted together in mid 2012 and so often wrote about it. I said they hooked up late 2012 or 2013 and that it was a casual thing that turned serious in 2014. (The 2014 is my estimation. shippers say 2012 and some even speculate 2015 was the year they got serious).
Also Alia-Ranbir being casted for bramastra ( back then named Dragon) news came out in 2014. (Google it). Kjo may have started his pr back then. But for Ramleela kareena was the original choice later PC was casted but SLB changed his mind and casted DP at the last minute. (DP was announced one month or so before shooting. If I’m not mistaken in August 2012) . The casting talk of Ramleela was all in 2012. You mean to tell me RS,DP and SLB were doing pr work for DPRS pr relationship since 2011 when she was not even the original choice. The party incident with RK and RS having hots story for DP was 2010/2011 gossip. That means RS knew he will do Ramleela with DP since he debuted in 2010.
I will not deny they do use DeepVeer ship for their movie promotion but everyone else does as well. Even Shahid, Akki, SRK are spotted more often with family when they promote movies. Why say DeepVeer use pr to sell movies? Also which bw real couple does not use pr/ social media to hype relationship
As I mentiond in a above comment I use to frequent gossip forums back then and it was RanKat, AnuVeer fandoms in gossip forum that started calling DeepVeer pr couple that is how that name stuck for them.
In Aloobir case twitter bollywood journalist Rahul Raut even named them and Shilpa Ratnam (did not name the couple) called them pr.

@leaps The real life Varia ship sank a long time ago. The blind last year made it clear his parents were against Alia and it was his parents that pressurized him to get back with Natasha. (They might have fun on the side, I would not cross that out). And now Kjo also will never let Varia overshadow Aloobir. That’s why Varun is so open unlike before. Before he never hid it but we rarely see them together but now so many Natasha sightings.

Admin, I miss the day when actors pretend they are just good friends, eventhough the whole world know they are more than that. It was so fun to scrutnize their every picture, quote, move, gossip..lol.. You have made me nostalgic admin with your write-up. 2012 to late 2014 ships and the shipper fanwars on online forums were so fun. I miss RanKat, RanDeep, AnuVeer, DeepVeer, (Virushka were not that big back then) fanwars. They were epic. Also trolling was not big back then, so most of the time sensible comments are posted and can have sane conversations with commentators.
By the way, yes. I just thought about it yesterday. Why before the true affair were concealed, the actors said we were just friends and nothing more, but the language of their bodies, gestures and occasional interviews proved that it was something more. now the relationship is prefer to stick out. It is all controlled now. Back then, it was something else. Zoom and Stardust were epic in revealing these secrets. Stardust was also the number one in this category. Heck, even celebs boycotted them. Now all of them are scared of these celebs and their PR. No wonder there’s no underworld anymore because Bollywood itself has become the underworld!
