The other blind item for today comes from SuperCinema. It’s about the flak that this director has been receiving since his film released and became a hit. Yes, it was a hit but that didn’t stop people around this director from making him the scapegoat of this mess. It’s funny because they all know that this superstar pretty much ghost-directed this film and yet, they need someone to take the blame for this movie so why not the director?
The superstar walked away with most of the profits and distributors ended up with their losses. Apparently, it’s a deal that this superstar made with his distributors. You know, they get to screen that big hit and at the same time, save their screens for the other low-budget films that this superstar’s home production will release. Back to this blind item, actors are still thinking twice before committing to work with this director now. Can’t blame them, a flop is a big deal these days. But still, people should have the guts to call out this superstar’s stupidity when it came to this film instead of putting the whole blame on this director. Sadly, no one would dare to call him out, not even this director!

Bollywood Blind Item
In the past we have most of the time broken stories in this very column about the numerous movies which go on to be shelved week in and week out. But this one story should give people a glimmer of hope. There is this movie which was announced with a lot of fanfare at the start of the year. The makers were keen to launch such a big movie with a very big young star at the helm of things. But in the interim period, the director went out there and delivered a massive dud and the big actor got cold feet and he started to make a few excuses.
But after weeks of will he won’t he, the actor has finally given his elusive nod to the film once again and this time officially as well and the movie will finally mount the sets by the end of the year. Apparently, the way the filmmaker convinced the actor was by revisiting his script once again and making the needed changes he felt would better the film. An intelligent exercise like this always pays rich dividends like in this case!
Ok I’m a bit confused and I ask out of genuine curiosity. Was Race 3 a hit or a flop?
Technically speaking race 3 is a hit. However, the way legalities were structured it made profits for producers ie sallu n family. Distributors and exhibitors suffered huge losses. So hit in terms of monies for sallu, but flop for exhibitors n distributos and audiences who didnt get anything out of it
