A mehendi event is a ceremony that happens before the wedding. Even though these pictures are just being released, the ceremony happened last night over three hours ago, Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas officially tied the knot in a ceremony that was officiated by his father, Paul Kevin Jonas. The Hindu marriage will take place tomorrow. These pictures were shared by both PC and Nick on their social media accounts with the same message:
One of the most special things that our relationship has given us is a merging of families who love and respect each other’s faiths and cultures. And so planning our wedding with an amalgamation of both was so so amazing.
An important part for the girl in an Indian wedding is the Mehendi. Once again we made it our own and it was an afternoon that kicked off the celebrations in the way we both dreamed.
Wished there was a video because these pictures look like they are having a lot of fun. Also, PC’s dress reminds us of mithai (Indian sweets), don’t know why. Nick looks nice, these light-colour kurtas look excellent on him.

Sonam Kapoor is from a big fat filmi family. Anil friends and Sonam is also pretty popular among the actresses. The whole of industry showed up, partied, put out glorious videos and pictures. It was all done. Sonam had a reception right away and maybe they felt included and were excited to go. lol
Not many came to DP/RS reception. SRK was there but he came around 2 am. ( which is great, anyone else would have just gone home after the day he had.) Saw Hrithik after a long, long time so there’s that.
Why didn’t Salman Khan attend DeepVeer reception
Salman was at the ACTUAL best wedding of this weekend but the one that was not reported on by press or media in Phuket, Thailand. He was at the #dknlove wedding between Divya and Kunal who are Mala and Kishore Samtani’s son and Priya and Jaikumar Vaswami’s daughter. Not only Salman but Badhsah, Akshay Kumar & Twinkle, Mika Singh, Jason Derulo, Akon, Manish Paul (after DPs reception?), Sukhbir, Red Hot Chili Peppers were all there and many other noted people. They had a bunch of events that were themed and was very well executed “Glow with the Flow – youngsters party”, “Heaven on Earth” mendhi party, “Wat’er you waiting for” pool party, “Love is in the Air” civil ceremony, Don’t stop the music afterparty, “Family Roots” – pooja, “The Golden Durbaar” – sangeet, “An Arsenal of a Parade” – Bharaat, “You light up my life” – wedding ceremony, “A whole new world” – Reception. For those of you who enjoyed watching #deepveer and #nickyanka I was mesmerized by this one. Honestly it seemed like more of a festival with the bride and groom headlining the event like Beyonce and Jay Z but it was like if you were TRULY going to spend all that money and make your wedding a big gigantic party then this was DEFINITELY the way to do it. I haven’t seen anything like it and it would take a lot to top this. They went all out and also it looked like a lot of fun because of all the thought that went into it the people attending really enjoyed with their whole hearts and full mast partying till 9am in the morning!
There was something about both Priyanka and Deepika’s weddings that was lacking for me. Deepika and Ranveer’s seemed like we couldn’t really get to know who they really were as a couple, they both looked phenomenal and Deepika surely is the most beautiful bride but there was nothing very personal about it. I feel that way even when watching their Koffee with Karan episodes. Ranveer is full of fire and fun but it’s all a show, you don’t get to know the real him. Whereas Varun, Katrina comes across a lot more real.
Anyway back to the weddings – also from the Bollywood guests that attended Deepveer we didn’t get those epic dance videos like we did during “Sonam Ki Shaadi” with top actors like Salman and SRK boogying. I think Anil Kapoor has built up a lot of goodwill in the industry and they were all there to support him so Sonam is very lucky. Her wedding seemed personal and also joyful. At Deepveer it was just the Bachchan’s. Also Deepika looked very “churail” like at her Bollywood reception. I wonder if she is a different person with her family than she is with her Bollywood friends seems like she can really party (alluding again to the snorting illicit substances reference on KWK Aliaa episode) and maybe she wanted to let her hair down for this reception in a way she couldn’t with her family in the Bangalore/Mumbai ones.
Priyanka and Nick’s wedding seemed more intimate in terms of you had your regular guest list of friends and family and also a normal amount of events – Mehndi sangeet and not 18 different receptions 🙂 (well.. yet! I guess they still have to host their reception and maybe they will have one in LA as well). As for Priyanka’s well wishers it will be interesting to see if people attended. I think Priyanka actually harmed herself with the OTT Vogue story she should leave a few things as a question mark and not seek approval all the time from people. Something I hope she applies to her professional life moving forward as she always seems desperate to be cool, desperate to be liked, desperate to be the trail blazer woman pushing boundaries. She just needs to chill! I look forward to seeing her looks, I think she went with what she felt more timeless in and her classic style which is NOT the tight hair heavy dupatta look but her usual hair down lots of volume and sexy sarees!

Salman got no equation with either DP or RS so him not being there was not surprising at all. But his family Arbaz and gf, Alvira, Atul and Aayush were there. That it self was a surprise as Khan family is close to people from Bhai’s camp and harem and neither DP or RS belong to either group. Wives of Aamir, Rajnikanth and Shahid were there even though the stars could not make it.
The biggest gossip that came out from their reception is that Kat and DP took a selfie and were seen talking with each other. Also apparently DP,Kat,Anu and KKK took a selfie aswell. One of the admin of Kat ig fc got this scoop from a person at the party who was a team member of a celeb present at the party. The FC admin is quite confident that the Kat and DP selfie would be released and that fc would post the selfie as soon as it is leaked. Now that is goin to be an epic blockbuster internet breaking selfie.
Dp and RS had after parties that went on till morning at both Bangalore and Mumbai reception for families. It is that it was private no pics or clips came out. But some videos were shared on ig stories slyly by some guests. And the guest at Grand Hyatt were given ear plugs and a warning note that said it would be noisy. A guest at Grand Hyatt Mumbai shared this info on sm as she was a guest there when all the Mumbai reception and party held there. Even at the BW reception there were a lot of dancing done by star yet few videos came out. They just had a private party so nothing got leaked.
I somehow feel the sincerity factor is missing in PC’s wedding. She somehow comes out as a very mature logical individual. I’m not buying this ditzy bubble head image of hers.A reality show might just be the answer for this fairytale wedding.
Wasn’t there a blind sometimes ago on this very site which mentioned how they used to have a kardashian reality show for the Jonas family.i feel after the joe Jonas and Sophie marriage in 2019 summer there will be a keeping up with the Jonas kind of reality show.maybe there will be.nowthat pc has gotten married for fame,she will milk it dry.i just hope she gets big tent pole films in Hollywood instead of becoming a trashy kardashian.
Can’t believe DP and RS are dancing away w Sr Bachchan at their reception. The old guy who sexually harassed her during the shoot of Piku – so much so that she didn’t invite him for the film’s success party. He apparently touched her inappropriately so how can she forgive him? Worst not warning other women and girls about this creep.

Why do you think they are like this? DP and RS themselves used their body to sleep their way to the top, DP is holding hands with Big B and Ranveer with Shanoo, at this point they no longer care, maintaining fame and money is everything.
That was a little uncomfortable,I was hoping she will treat amitabh like how anushka treated him at her reception.she did a namastey and that’s all,she always seems super awkward around the oldie even when he has done nothing to her.and here it seemed like he and jaya bacchan were the guest of honour of the party,there was a picture of him staring at her butt when she is hugging jaya ,it was all over Twitter and pinkvilla .the creep hasn’t changed at all.
DP-RS wedding felt like someone rich in your locality is getting married and you can be a part of it through so many pics. PC wedding feels more like rich NRI wedding where commoners are not allowed. Don’t kill me for this but I still don’t know if PC is shooting for some reality show or posing on her wedding. Production of that short sangeet clip did look like some Broadway musical.
It did. PC’s wedding looks straight out of Hum Aapke Hai Kaun with the cricket match, dancing etc. It does look like they are planning a reality show. Could be why she chose Umaid Bhavan. I can see it, Jonas family in awe of traditional Rajashthan, shopping, PC explaining the beautiful Indian rituals , the dance rehearsals, etc.
RS/DP with their month long celebrations and PC have both milked their weddings to the max! I am gonna miss the shaadi season.
According to a PC fan, people magazine bought her wedding pics.. So a vogue cover and a People mag exclusive coverage of your wedding is a damn good deal.
To be fair Nick, Priyanka, Kevin, Joe, Parineeti are all entertainers so it makes sense that their performances would be of high calibre they are all in the entertainment industry! I do like the coordinated wedding where both him and her enjoyed the events together from mendhi to cricket etc. It’s nice of PC to want to show the culture to her friends who aren’t aware, I’m sure that’s a big part of their initial attraction is getting to know another culture it is nice when you first fall in love to learn so much about someone else.
I was sceptical about Nick and Priyanka like the rest but I feel they are really into each other. The sangeet looks so awesome like some filmfare awards function. The production quality is amazing. So far I liked all of Priyanka’s outfits. Here is wishing them both a lot of luck and love in marriage. Only the desi crowd is hating on them. The non desi crowd seems to love them. Especially that newly wed quiz video.
Also the bollywood thirsty Ambani’s flew straight from Jodhpur after attending PC’s wedding just to attend DPRS reception. Rofl.. Now DP and RS can’t come up with exuses to avoid attending their kid’s wedding receptions and partake in stuff like the cringey synchronised dancing they made the bw people do at the pre-wedding bashes.

planned by Kjo, Aloo and RK to get some pr. On kwk Aloo let out na how they all were phoning up stars to attend the party and kjo was like no it was all organic not forced. Lol.. Even on kwk Aloo was acting like she is close to RS by saying things like she calls him Tutu and DP exposed her by saying Zoya was the one who started calling him that and tried to act she is close to DP as well. Aloo did go to SRK diwali bash, Pc engagement baah and PC’s pre-wedding dinner without RK. But I don’t think RK has anything to do with her not attending DPRS reception. People are streching it too far now. I’m sure if RK was attending parties he would have gone with her to the reception but he has not attended any party since his father’s sickness. As I said before if RSDP are as close to her as she tried to portray them to be she could have taken a few hours and attended the reception as they were shooting in Mumbai and she was shooting for a movie not a tvc which are time bound. RSDP never claimed to be close to her it was all Aloo. Her mom attended so maybe she went on Aloo’s behalf to congratulate the couple.
I’m sure she would attend Prick reception as they seem to be the new bffs in town. She attended all PC’s dinners and parties for Prick and even met her while they were in NY. Two fake opportunists faking a friendship. Haha.

Rk has been avoiding parties since his father got sick. He did not attend a single diwali bash this year so I kinda suspected he would not attend. Apparently Alia and RK were shooting for Brahmastra but Aloo’s mom Soni was there. But Aloo could have taken some time out to attend the party just like SRK did. I’m so glad Aloobir did not attend.
Malla and Kjo literally came straight from the set of the TV show. Karishma was in Lucknow but flew back straight from their to attend the reception as per her ig post. Aamir was not in town so Kiran attended alone. (ABsr said the same thing about Aamir not being in town on his blog post about the party).
Sonam and Anand were in London attending some fashion thing. (A BOF event). They both posted pics from the event on ig… Deepika was attending Met gala in NY when Sonam’s wedding reception was on. Anushka did not invite Ranveer or Deepika to her wedding reception but Deepika wished her by sending her flowers and personal message…
@Monalisa you got everything right but for the Anushka part, She did invite them but I remember the reception was the day after Christmas and hence many could not make it. Ranveer was spotted arriving in town the next morning and Deepika was on vacation and arrived in the country only in Jan. There was an article how she invited them separately but they sent her flowers together.

@Lucy SRK did not come back to Mumbai to attend DeepVeer wedding. He had a lot of other commitments in Mumbai that he had to attend. In the morning he attended some event organized by the chief minister of Maharashtra.

Regarding the Kapoor’s closeness to Bhavnani both Sonam, Anil and Ranveer have always said they were not close. They attend family functions where extended family is invited. Nothing more. Ranveer and Sonam has never been close to each other like Arjun and Sonam are and they have never claimed that. But Sonam is really fond of him as their many pics of them from events and parties interacting with each other and she always said really nice things when asked about him. I just checked Sonam’s ig and she posted an ig story 5 hours ago, where she was walking the ramp in some fashion show, so she is still busy with whatever work she is doing in London. So she is not going to leave her work commitment to attend somebody’s wedding reception. But I’m sure if she was in Mumbai she would have attended the reception as Ranveer and his family attended her reception. And Anand and Ranveer seem to be friends as I have seen pics of them together even before Sonam and Anand got married. Most probably they have mutual friends as they are both from affluent social circle.

Congrats PC and Nick!! And congrats to PC on her Vogue US cover. That is huge but after Kim K scored a Vogue cover the eliteness and prestige of scoring a Vogue cover has somewhat diminished. I must say her US team is really good and efficient. Kudos to them. They are hustling and finding ways to increase her visibility in US.
