We have been watching Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam films for a while. Maybe for around 10 years + already. Our faves have consistently changed. We went from being mad about Maddy when the Vaseegara craze started to taking acting seriously when we saw Vikram in ‘Anniyan’.
Lately, in the past 4 years or so, Vijay Sethupathi came around and is still here. On our list, we mean, he’s still here. It was in ‘Pizza’ that we first saw him and then another film that he did based on a true story of this groom who gets hit in the head while playing cricket just before his wedding and goes through a ghajini moment.
There was another film that we saw, which was super funny. We don’t know the title of the film and just chanced upon it after midnight one Saturday. There are so many other actors in it and the film tells all of their stories. It was really entertaining and Vijay stood out from everyone else in the film. To this day, we remember this film, but don’t remember the title.
So now, the only two actors that we really enjoy watching are Vikram and Vijay Sethupathi. There are so many similarities between them.
Both are acting for the love of the craft and other than that, they have managed to stay private. Vikram works on one project that usually takes a while whereas Vijay does sooooo many projects in a year.
There was an interview of Vijay late last year where he said that he only takes power naps. That’s how he has been able to work in so many films in a year, he just sleeps whenever he is travelling from location to location.
Unfortunately, he does so many films that most of them don’t get a proper DVD release with professionally input English subtitles.
Vijay’s upcoming film, ‘Super Deluxe’, looks like an interesting thriller. The film was announced last year and we have been waiting patiently to see just what kind of character he is playing in this film after seeing the first look he posted. We had to wait quite a while, actually, because they only just released the trailer late last month.

Don’t do anything else, just your headphones on and listen carefully or you might just miss a beat!
Now someone will come in here and say we are the stalkers of Vikram and Vijay. Or someone will accuse us of being their PR!

Thank you for this post Admin. Vikram is my favourite indian actor.First time I have seen him in Anniyan and was blown away by his performance. I have started watching south indian movies because of him and I always wait for his new movies.
Admin was the movie soodhu kavvum ( the name you cannot remember?) In which Vijay plays a kidnapper with a gang of jobless men ?
No, that’s not it. The one you mentioned we know. The one we mentioned, he’s a little heavier in that and a little younger.

Of course… 🙂 quite long and slow but it was important to keep the narrative going. Trisha looked fresh in the film, was nice seeing her. Also, the part where he cuts his beard off looks like it was shot sometime after due to him being slightly slimmer.
