“Unlike some quintessential horror films that are set in haunted houses, this one revolves around a ship that lies static at a beach,” informed the source. Shooting for the film will be wrapped up by next month, and the makers are looking to release it in the second half of the year.

Kalank is obviously Alia’s audition tape for SLB. Her first audition for a SLB film was when she was 9 years old (for the child in Black). SLB must have been impressed with whatever he saw in Kalank, that’s why he took Alia because i am 100% sure it’s not because he likes KJo. He doesn’t. Salman on the other hand is well liked by SLB.
BTW, I’m not surprised Deepika or Priyanka didn’t get the heroine parts. Heard Deepika once rejected a Salman Khan’s film (or was it an Ajay Devgn’s film?). As for Priyanka, she should just give up on Salman. She tried to pull a fast one on him when she walked out on Bharat at the last minute because of the Chris Pratt film only for it to blow up on her face when it was postponed indefinitely. I don’t think Salman forgives easily, especially when his gigantic ego is bruised.
For an up and coming actress like Alia, to sign so many big films within such a short time means a lot of dirty politics (Kjo) is/has been at play. It is possible that some movies, that would otherwise go to Deepika, went to Alia. Deepika announcing that she is exhausted by SLB movies sounded very defensive of her, something one would only say to save face.
For Priyanka, she stupidly mentioned in KWK that she was in talks with SLB. She was trying really hard to get back. How silly of her to think she’d be forgiven by Salman!
I appreciate kebab jo working round the clock to create link ups hook ups/ playing all dirty games. What I am really worried about is that very soon his brain might stop working and no more gossips after that!!!!

I’m not a fan of SLB’s movies. Only one I sort of liked was Ram Leela and, well, I’ve pretty much hated Padmaavat (did not watch in entirety) and swore off his cinema. But if Kalank Teaser is anything to go by, SLB is far ahead a filmmaker in terms of period dramas – the song, the obsession with beauty and perfection, the grandeur can’t be matched by just anyone.
Now he declares Salman (which I still get because he has a long standing association with the man and called him his only friend in this industry despite the guy’s obvious lack of talent) in his next.. and ALIA!? Is Kalank not indicative of how poor of an actress she is in non-urban roles? Even Raazi was overrated af, I was too aware of her acting and couldn’t achieve suspension of disbelief.
As London said, this is Alia’s world and we’re just living in it. Haven’t seen anyone with half as much talent as Kareena be served everything on a silver platter. Now I get why RK is acting to be with her.
Alia looks miscast in Kalank. Aura, grace to carry off such role in a period film is missing. And they have tried so hard to make her look milky white. It’s all so messed up.
The biggest miscast in Kalank is Varun. In the song teaser, he was looking like coming straight from Judwaa 2 sets (the tapori one). He doesn’t have aura and honestly face to act in period dramas.
The Alia overload is surely going to backfire. Every big film goes to her these days and it’s getting sickening. Either the audience is going to grow tired of her very quickly, or these films won’t have the box office numbers expected and that will start to follow her too. Either way, I can’t wait for the day when she’s becomes just another actress. This is just too much!

Just watched tapecast with Katrina and Vicky. I don’t know why but I found it unnerving. It reminded me of this.

This is comment of the season. I am someone who really liked Vicky especially after URI and his interviews around that time were refreshing from the regular entitled bollywood brat club. However on KWK he seemed to be sucking up to Karan a little too much and i felt there is a side to him that is probably not as authentic as he tries to put across. If Katrina rumour is true then she is going to end up as a trophy gf for a while before he finds a good punjabi girl to settle down with. Vicky in all his interviews talks about his mom and his dad and it seems like they are very traditional and come from a typical punjabi family. Katrina should really look for a guy who will love her for the person she is and look for something deeper than her external beauty or star power. Beauty fades with age and star power does not last long. The smart woman like Ash,Anushka, Madhuri, Deepika,Kareena realize this and find a guy who is ready to commit. Alia should also get over her obsession for RK because he can drag her for another 5 years and dump her like he did with Kat.

OMG the Tapecast interview between Vicky and Katrina was one of the best in the series. Katrina came across as so genuine and evolved. No surprise to me that so many men have fallen hard for her…it’s not just her beauty, she’s a gentle soul really. Totally felt like Vicky was crushing hard on her..hehe. He seems to be a very good listener though

I so agree, they were lovely together. Obviously the match-up was selected to further an agenda but even KJO cannot manufacture chemistry (see the fake RK/Alia fiasco) and these two had it in spades. If the Bhumi fling is indeed true (a) bad Vicky and (b) hope it was just an on-set thing that quickly fizzles out. I’d love to see him start something real with Kat. She’s so lovely and deserves a little happiness herself.
Don’t go by one interview. Its was scripted and for cameras. Men fall for her but left her too means there must be some sort of issue and might not be a gentle soul as you think. Vickey was just doing his job. He wasn’t smitten by her.
Skeptic much? Chemistry really can’t be faked. Even Alia and Ranbir can’t fake it, they look so utterly bored together. Alia’s “I’m blushing” at the mention of Ranbir is the most idiotic behaviour I’ve ever seen on an actress, don’t be playin’ aloo.
I actually like Katrina (not actress, but just how she conducts herself). She can be boring sometimes, but other times when she’s less guarded – she’s quite a mature woman, with such relatability to her. Everything she’s ever said when she had an honest moment – you can connect to. Poor woman is too ambitious despite her obvious lack of talent for acting and limitations to settle for anything less than an A-lister or commoner, but has been dumped HARD by Salman & RK.
@Guest and @HateKJO (love the name btw…straight to the point..lol)- Yeah I don’t actually buy that they are interested in each other off screen but even if scripted, the level of chemistry during the conversation was high. Not in a romantic sense obviously but just as two people having an in-depth conversation. That in itself can be sometimes a beautiful thing to watch if both people are equally deep. An example of a total fail of this was Farhan and Bhoomi’s Tapecast where Farhan asked such insightful questions and was genuinely interested in what she had to say but Bhoomi was all ‘blah blah me my beauty my sexiness my hotness’. Just goes to show that even if scripted there has to be a core of emotional honesty and substance to what the speakers are saying!
Katrina can be very annoying and preachy. In the KWK episode with Anushka she came across as annoying and kept lecturing everyone all the time. Anushka on the other hand seems to be a really wacky and crazy girl in a fun sort of a way. Salman actually mocked her on another KWK with Varun about how she acts like know it all. Also remember with a suspect background she has none of these hypocritical desi heroes will settle down with her. They come from families that still think boys will be boys but women should be from a good family and have strong roots.
@Admin would love to hear your take on the “first shock of the week” as you put it. Thing is there were conflicting news reports, first that Parineeti was being considered for RRR as Alia didnt have dates available, then the blind item saying Alia couldnt take up SLB’s film because of RRR…and suddenly voila she lands both! Do you have any inside gossip on how things transpired? SLB at least i didnt think was beholden to the KJO lobby. So does that mean he genuinely thinks Alia makes sense opposite Salman (which i find really hard to believe…unless its a Lolita / Cheeni Kum kind of deal).

Vicky really needs to stay away from KJo before he gets corrupted completely. His ex GF seems like a sweet girl. I don’t see any connect between him and Bhumi though (the water lady). But he shares a really good vibe with Kat, Watched an interview of them together…they seemed to really like each other.
