This leading filmmaker’s protege has bagged roles in two big productions on his recommendation. The young actor is known for her acting chops and has bagged several awards for her performances.
But despite her success, she is keen to push her way into big films with a little nudge from her mentor. One of the films, which is being helmed by a Bollywood filmmaker known for his fine detailing and character-driven stories, had wanted another female actor.
But as soon as the mentor got wind of it, he went armed with the footage of her next release, which he has produced, to convince him to sign her. As for the other project, the mentor’s earlier association with the filmmaker helped. Well, some people have all the luck.

Recently, during an interaction with MidDay, when Alia was asked about the film, she stated, “Bhansali is a visionary. People are too quick to judge. There is a plan in place and a reason behind the [unusual] casting. I am thrilled to be working with Salman.
Even I never thought this combination [working with Khan and Bhansali] is possible. It will be an intriguing journey and Salman is genuinely warm and kind. They are a magical duo together and I am blessed to be in it.”
Earlier Alia was asked about the criticism she and Salman received after Inshallah was announced. To which she replied, “I didn’t get any criticism. I think I got a lot of excitement. I think a speculation is also a form of excitement in a way and why shouldn’t there be speculation.
There should be and at least I am not bothered by that and I don’t think Salman or Bhansali sir are bothered. I think this is a filmmaker who has given us very good films, he is someone who we all are very fond of and I think we should just trust him with his vision.”
Unfortuantely, this is what happens when you sail your career not on your own but by being carried away by someone else. You never get the status. Kangana, PC, are superstars today without Kjo or Chopra or SLB. DP is a superstar today due to her own efforts, who also helped SLB get back his lost glory post Guzarish. It is not SLB that makes a superstar, Aish didnt become one, she is still a beauty queen turned actor.
Alia gave so many hits, is on every TV, print, but she is not a superstar because she never “struggled” and made it herself. The perception is her being a child of Kjo, who is given everything on a platter. It is visible in her development, intellect, experiences which has stagnated. SLB wont help her reach superstardom, she is trying to copy Deepika’s jewellery, sari, etc. to show herself as her replacement, but wont work, coz she is still a kid, which DP was not during Cocktail/Ramleela.
Same with Katrina/Jacqueline. So many hits, but never considered heavyweight superstars for the same reason – she is being carried by Salman Khan. People may love their movies, but never have the kind of respect and admiration as they have for others who were self-made. They should just change their goal to earning more money by replacing other talent through mentors, since these kinds do not make legends. They are forgotten with their last hit.

I used to like Alia back when she was in movies like 2 states – but now I’m having Alia-fatigue…and even the common person can see she is being shoved down our throats. Nepotism or not – I just want to see fresh faces or actual talent promoted for once!
Such overdose of this childish looking ok’ish actress. I mean where are the other ones?! Someone talented like Parineeti would have been reigning with half the backup Aloo gets. I doubt she will be ever considered a Star. Lacks the aura.

Unless it’s a black sort of story with an unusual sort of romantic equation it won’t work.salman after sultan hasn’t been able to loose the weight and it’s showing.he does look like a man who is in his fifties and Alia looks like a pre teen.there was a news item saying Kriti sanon was the chosen one but slb have taken Alia as Kriti is not as successful.and only reason why Salman must have said yes to the child is to have sooryavanshi removed from Eid slot.or else I see no reason as to why they would go through all the backlash.at iifa 2018 Salman was asked when he will pair with Alia and he had said when they make papa is great or something.so he himself never thought of being paired with her.waiting for kalank to flop badly and maybe there is a chance that slb will change his mind.he certainly did a musical chairs for ram Leela even after the sets wear built.
If you see the Ads she did for Sunfeast Dark Fantasy, the ones where she is interacting with kids, she looks like an over-grown kid herself. And the ones where she is trying to pull off being sensual while eating a biscuit ala Katrina (remember the Tropicana Slice ads, Aamasutra indeed), Alia looks utterly silly while doing it. She may (?) be a good actress, but it’s like watching Aamir Khan in Dhoom 3. He broods, he dances, he takes off his shirt, but he never looked sexy the way Hritik Roshan did in his torn vest in Dhoom 2. It’s like that with Alia, she is not sexy, she is not sensual – unfair or not, her looks are a factor – and if she keeps getting shoved down our throats like this, we will probably start developing an allergic reaction to her.
I’m tired of these over-exposed star kids. Can’t connect with any of them. Artificial image and personality curated by their management/pr companies.
I want to see Dp, anushka,kat,pc,kangana in more Bolly movies. Hell even sonam and sonakshi have more individuality than the current crop of star kids who are either minions of kjo or puppets of their management companies.

See, we are working people. By the time we get back from work, it’s around 10pm. There’s no time to talk about everything that’s happening. It’s hard to keep up to date also.
