Trailer: Ludo – An Anurag Basu Productions Film

After the release of ‘Jagga Jasoos’ in 2017, Anurag Basu is finally back with a multicast film titled ‘Ludo’. ‘Ludo’ has four stories that feature Pankaj Tripathi, Aditya Roy Kapur paired with Sanya Malhotra, Rajkummar Rao paired with Fatima Sana Sheikh, Abhishek Bachchan paired with Inayat Verma, Rohit Suresh Saraf paired with Pearle Maaney, Asha Negi and Shalini Vats.

First, check out the trailer of ‘Ludo’:

Anurag Basu is really good at his ensemble cast films. ‘Life in a metro’ was a good one and ‘Ludo’ looks like a fun ride, similar to ‘Loot case’ which was a lot of fun to watch. Since he didn’t get his favorite Ranbir Kapoor in the film, it means things really didn’t go well for them after ‘Jagga Jasoos’. But then if he had RK in this one, Anurag would have again taken years to complete the film and perhaps, overindulged as well. This one, compared to his previous releases, was ready a long time back but due to the current pandemic situation, it got delayed and eventually, the makers decided to release it on an OTT platform.

    Star Cast of Ludo

Abhishek Bachchan has added an ‘A’ in the middle of his name on his onscreen credits. In ‘Ludo’, it appears as if he is playing his character in ‘Yuva’ but with lesser aggression. It’s interesting how his friends in the industry always come out to support him since he sort of made his comeback in ‘Manmarziyaan’. AB Jr works well in a multicast film. He’s always been praised in this kind of casting as he manages to stand out.

Rajkummar has longer hair, a bit like Sanjay Dutt had, and in ‘Ludo’ he seems to have a thing for Fatima’s character but she’s already with someone and has as child. It’s a different look for him and in this one, he appears to be more on the comic side compared to the other characters.

Aditya is paired with Fatima’s bestie aka lucky girl Sanya Malhotra and the two appeared to be the only true couple in the film. Aditya, as always, looks smoking hot great and it’s probably why they put his good-looking self on the first poster they released to announce this film. Most people would argue and say he can’t act but the boy always had this chill approach to acting. It’s like he’s just playing himself in every film. Or maybe he chooses characters that are similar to him. Either way, he looks good so…who really cares!

If Rohit Suresh Saraf appeared to be familiar, it’s because he was in ‘Hichki’. He’s been working steadily for a while now because we saw this foreign film from Norway called ‘What will people say’ and he was in that too. Rohit is paired with Pearle Maaney who is making her Hindi film debut in this film. Apparently, she is quite famous with the South Indian film audience since on youtube, a lot of comments are about her.

Based on the trailer, all of these characters are going through their own respective journeys but their stories are inextricably connected to each other. It looks like something different and fun, definitely can’t wait to check it out.

‘Ludo’ will be available on Netflix on 12th November 2020.

    1. When stars work with moviemakers, most of the movies get destroyed due to interference, tantrums and cost. Outsiders/struggling actors are easy to work with and this helps the movie. Hopefully, ludo works for anurag.
