Karan Johar announced earlier this year the launch of his own talent management company, Dharma Cornerstone Agency, where the responsibility of launching and managing new talent aka actors will fall on his team, the Dharma people. Previously, when he was with Reshma Shetty’s Matrix, she and her team were the ones managing KJo’s minions, including Alia Bhatt, Siddarth Malhotra and Varun Dhawan. Basically, KJo saw the magic that Reshma did to Salman Khan’s career and public persona, and proceeded to ensure that the 3 newcomers he was launching back then were set for life, professionally.
Now, years later, KJo is ready to launch another star kid, the daughter of Sanjay and Maheep Kapoor, Shanaya Kapoor! Shanaya has been waiting for this moment for a really long time and since Ananya successful managed to make her debut, Shanaya was hoping to be next. Actually, her family was hoping KJo will take Shanaya in like he did with Chunky Pandey’s daughter. What’s long-term friendship for if he can’t launch the kids of his circle?
When YRF launched Aadar Jain and Anya Singh, many criticized them for Anya’s introduction pictures compared to the ones they took of Aadar where he is fully-clothed!
At the same time, they found a way to let it be known that Aadar is Raj Kapoor’s grandson. No mankini for him, though, ’cause how can you do that to Raj Kapoor’s grandbaby.
With all that in mind, this is how DCA decides to announce the entry of Shanaya Kapoor in Bollywood:
Looks like these Victoria’s Secret commercials they used to have back in the day featuring Giselle and Adriana Lima. If they had her intro in this revealing form, they might as well have taken the opportunity to get her some brand endorsement deals! Get two birds with one stone…Because by the look of this intro, Shanaya can model, but that’s not what she’s aiming for, right?
Makes you wonder if they had her in these shots, what about her acting skills? To YRF and Dharma, acting skill probably comes after Look and Body!
Shanaya’s entry into Bollywood comes as a surprise and not so much as a surprise at the same time. Even before any kind of announcement, she has been relentlessly made fun of on social media. Let’s just say she didn’t always look this way. In this side of the Kapoor family, they have a favorite doc and it’s not the kind you think! So why would she want to put herself in a position where she would be made fun of and criticized? Unless, she can really act…But looks as if to these star kids, acting is more about being famous than knowing how to act. Speaking of star kids, can Shanaya be considered a star’s kid since her father did not go far in Bollywood? The closest she is to a star’s relative is by being Anil Kapoor’s niece and Sridevi’s as well. It does help that she is bestie with Suhana Khan, who is a superstar’s kid!

In the name of equality, DCA also had the same introductory videos for their new male actors launch. The only difference is, Shanaya’s intro vid was shot outside (probably at Shah Rukh Khan’s Alibagh residence) while the rest of the new launches were shot inside a studio with a plain background.

It’s like when you sneeze so hard your neck gets locked to one side and you have to wait for hours or for days for that one person who’s able to crack your neck back to its original state! That’s what is happening here!
Gurfateh Singh Pirzada…looks like a bad boy in a sexy way! Are these tattoos for real? Anyway, he has a beautiful name!
Dhairya Karwa…this guy looks like fun! What’s the deal with him telling us what he eats while watching Netflix and then looking to his stomach? He doesn’t have a 6-pack which is cool since everyone is so obsessed with a muscular or over-muscular body. He looks like a normal guy.
And lastly, the one who doesn’t need any introduction at all…
Triptii Dimri…one of the very few actresses who can rock bangs!
So, these are the 2 girls and 3 boys that DCA has launched. All of them will be appearing in future Dharma Productions projects, obviously. As of now, we don’t know how good they are at their profession but as far as their looks and talent of posing go, it’s there for you to see!
Of all the people launched, Shanaya seems the least promising. Of al the new nepo kids on the block. Jhanvi seems the least irritating while Ananya rates high in that department 😛 Sara would be more endearing if she wasnt so fake
Shanaya looks very different here , especially around the jawline ! All these gals are friends from the time they’ve been little . I hope Bollywood doesn’t destroy that friendship . Tripti has done well in Laila Majnu and Anushka’s movie . Best of luck to her .
@babuji Because for business, intelligence and diligence is needed, which they don’t have, they’re used to living off on their surnames. Even their so called business ventures are done by them with half hearted involvement.

Agree to your views, same I felt too…she and Khushi altered their face little more than required. She has potential, but still feel she holds her up while acting..as you said, she is different from the other Star Kids.
Admin…what is your honest take on Jahnvi Kapoor?
Jahnvi? She acts through her eyes…Since her other facial features have been altered which, sometimes, can be distracting in her closeups 👄. Her eyes say a lot, like her mother’s eyes used to emote.
Other than that, she still has a lot to get and understand before becoming the actress her mother was. She inherited the I’m-sleepy-Kapoor-voice, same as Arjun and Sonam which is 😬, though hers sound like she’s on the verge of tearing up. She was good in Gunjan, her mother would have been proud!
She’s low-key compared to the other happening star kids which is surprising considering her mother was a freaking legend!

She might, if she can deliver. Otherwise she will be trolled on social media, same as before, just a little more harsher since now they have her acting skills to judge her for other than her looks. She might just end up going the Arjun Kapoor or Sonam Kapoor-way.

Looks like there are some outsiders who have joined in dharma’s school for star kids to avoid backlash. This so called photo shoot has no connection with acting chops. People are now almost fed up of nepotism so poor star kids might have tough time in getting acceptance from people, unlike the earlier batch of nepo gang.
