Last year in November, it was reported that Ranveer Singh has left the Yash Raj Talent Management Agency. The announcement came after Parineeti Chopra’s split with YRF talent. Reportedly, Ranveer made up his mind to leave YRF Talent sometime in July 2022. Since November, he moved on to sign with Collective Artists Network (formerly known as KWAN).
The split was a shock to many since Ranveer was always known as YRF’s blue-eyed boy especially since his movies with other production houses have worked and catapulted RS’s standing in the industry to a higher level of stardom.
Aditya Chopra was proud of Ranveer since he was launched in a Yash Raj film. This was despite Aditya himself not thinking RS was a big deal when Shanoo Sharma introduced him to tapes of RS auditioning. This was all documented in ‘The Romantics‘. Surely, things would have been different if RS’s debut flopped or his other ventures flopped.
So the split with YRF was announced back then in November. It was from Ranveer’s side, his announcement so YRF was quiet on that front which was a bit strange since the big boss (and his ego) is not someone to accept this quietly and wish RS well.
But then YRF was going through a rough patch, a series of box office bombs and industry insiders were starting to criticize the captain of the ship at YRF (Aditya Chopra) for making such bad decisions. At that time, several other talents were leaving YRF talent which was an indication that they were all jumping off a sinking ship to save themselves.
This news clipping came out at that time explaining RS’ split from YRF.
Why did Ranveer Singh leave YRF Talent Management Agency?
In January, the tide turned and how with ‘Pathaan’s release and immediate success worldwide putting YRF at the top once again. This surprise success shocked everyone and since then, Aditya Chopra must have felt like he was on top of the world. And now finally after months, they have time to announce their reaction to Ranveer Singh leaving them.
Here’s the shocking headline:
Ain’t no space for Ranveer Singh
In more ways, they are blaming RS for their flops and not saying how they were the ones who offered him these mediocre and silly scripts. Was RS in a position where he couldn’t say no to his mentor Aditya Chopra? Seems like it, if you see the way YRF is reacting now with their response now.
YRF is calling RS a flop!
Kick a man while he’s down and out!
It’s exactly what YRF did, they are now turning the table on RS by saying he has not had a hit for a long time.
Isn’t it funny they mentioned Akshay Kumar when the man gave them their biggest flop last year right after, he delivered many other flops! But Ajay and Ajay are not his contemporaries, even Ranbir to an extent is not. It’s kind of weird how they are pitting all these actors again RS just to show how big of a flop and less of a saleable star he is.
And now, YRF, or rather a source close to Aditya Chopra denied there’s any bad blood between RS and YRF but goes on to say RS has nothing to worry about since SLB’s film will put him back on the map among the top stars.
Was all this drama made up or was it really YRF?
Why does Aditya Chopra feel the need to do a bit of damage control after unleashing all that on RS?
What do you think?
I hope Ranveer bounces back in a very big way. I’ve just always liked him. He was generally treated with less respect than Ranbir until he started doing really well with SLB. Only reason KJo started to take him seriously was because of his hits.
