Anuska Sharma made her debut opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Yash Raj’s ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’ in 2008 which means sometime after this she must have signed with Aditya Chopra or maybe she already signed to do the film since she got to walk with the designer at the end of the show; something that only special guest do.
When Wendell Rodricks passed away last year, Anushka paid tribute to him. She spoke about how special and important he was to her.
Woke up in New Zealand to the sad news of Wendell Rodricks having passed away in his sleep. He was one of the most iconic and original designers in fashion and a champion for LGBT rights. He had given me an opportunity to close his fashion week show in Mumbai after spotting me in Bangalore at a fashion show and was gracious, kind and encouraging.
No wonder she said she thought she was the prettiest girl before she stepped into Aditya Chopra’s office…because if one of the top designers picked you from all of the models then there must be something special about you that he saw.
Anushka on the ramp…
She does have a different ramp-walk attitude, compared to the usual fierce-ramp-walk. Hers is more like I-don’t-give-a-sh!t kind of walk! Well, she was always different and also original back then!

Not really. If you are picked out and asked to walk the ramp by a prominent designer, that’s a pretty big deal! She wasn’t that famous as a model, though, she moved pretty fast from the ramp to movies. Guess she knew what her target was then and went on to achieve that.
