Are you one of the lucky ones?

These two sure want to do things different!

Are you one of the lucky ones

Prince Harry might just be on a mission to make his grandma live her last year in 2018 so that his brother can finally be king! For sure, he is doing things different. First, he went against the family’s wishes and the usual tradition by choosing a divorcee, who’s older than him and is an American half-black actress, as his wife. Then, he decides to invite his aunt Fergie to the wedding. And now, this:

Are you one of the lucky ones

He hasn’t really changed, he’s just still living mischievously and he’s simply doing it as an adult! Still, it’s a wonderful thing and might just be a dream come true for those who get selected.

Here’s the press release on this news:

Prince Harry and Ms. Meghan Markle have said they want their Wedding Day to be shaped so as to allow members of the public to feel part of the celebrations too. This wedding, like all weddings, will be a moment of fun and joy that will reflect the characters and values of the Bride and Groom.

In addition to the Carriage Procession in Windsor, they have today shared some further details of how the public will be involved on May 19th. Prince Harry and Ms. Markle have invited 2,640 people into the grounds of Windsor Castle to watch the arrivals of the Bride and Groom, and their wedding guests, at the chapel and to watch the carriage procession as it departs from the castle. This group will be made up of:

    • 1,200 members of the public from every corner of the United Kingdom will be nominated to attend by nine regional Lord Lieutenant offices. The couple has asked that the people chosen are from a broad range of backgrounds and ages, including young people who have shown strong leadership, and those who have served their communities.
    •  200 people from a range of charities and organisations which Prince Harry and Ms. Markle have a close association with, including those which Prince Harry serves as Patron.
    • 100 pupils from two local schools: The Royal School, Great Park, Windsor and St George’s School, Windsor Castle – both of which have a strong affiliation with the Windsor Castle community.
    • 610 Windsor Castle community members, including residents of Windsor Castle and members of the St George’s Chapel community.
    • 530 Members of The Royal Households and Crown Estate.

    1. Wallis Simpson was the first American divorcée to marry into the Royal family of England. In fact the then King Edward abdicated the throne for her. That was how Queen Elizabeth’s father, George, who was the younger brother of King Edward became king, and Elizabeth became the immediate heir. Remember the movie The King’s Speech? That was about King George.

But yeah, the Royal family has been through this melodrama before. In fact, this time, there’s no problem about being heir to the throne. There are, I think at least 8 in line before Henry. I am sure they weighed the pros and cons. I think for them, having British heirs to the throne is of higher importance than the racial background of someone marrying into the family.

      1. But the saxe-gotha-coburg family is not really British no? So much for pearl-clutchiness of those Meghan haters.

    2. Prince Harry has always been like a breath of fresh air.. No royal snobbishness or following of stupid protocols……I am sure he just wants to live and love like a common person out there…
