A couple of years ago, the leggy lady had a lesser-known actor thrown out of her film because his star wasn’t shining as bright as hers. But this year, since the actor has headlined a couple of big movies, the lady is happy to work with him again. So far, it’s only an ad film. But now it’s the male actor’s turn to do all the bitching.

Okay let the record show that the reason DP is not on speaking terms with PC anymore is because PC told her to not take Ranveer seriously. She tried to destroy the budding relationship at that time between DP and RS. If blinds are to be believed it was PC who told DP about RK infidelity with Kat and after that PC wanted to control DP’s relationships, giving her advice etc, it was more stalking than anything. PC had gotten a sick infatuation with DP and it was even PC who put out that blind about Ranveer getting his secretary pregnant. DP have done what she have done with all her contemporaries, she ignores them, royally ignores them and it works for her. With her you will get no cat fights.

During the release of DP movie with Vin Diesel in 2017, load of articles not only in bollywood but hollywood on how PC is better. It was so blatant omg. Like how DP is cheap version of PC or how she tried to be PC but failed. Literally load of articles and not even subtle shade, literally the article title which say how pc is better.
RS was already in Padmavat, so PD having VK removed, so RS could take his place doesn’t make sense.
As for Imran/Nikhil Advani movie, Katti Batti, the article says PC, DP, and Kat, all refused to act with him. But they were refused the movie itself and Imran was cast instead. Who got more importance then, the actor or the actresses?

@ananya SKJ hates RS more than DP. You should have seen the stuff he used to write about him when he first started and after RL release. His favs from this gen is Alia and Varun. You should read his tweets to know how biased he is about his favs.
He only write nice thing about RSDP when they are doing SLB movies. After the movies he is back to spitting venom about their work. But recently he seemed to be obsessed
with their relationship. And his recent articles against these two sound like paid pr stuff. Trying to pit one’s wedding over the other’s is tacky. And people who believe SKJ knows a lot about RSDP because he is close to SLB, in an interview thisyear, SLB said he is close to RSDP only professionally not personly. I never believe anything SKJ writes about RSDP.

Really? @Monalisa I just came across his articles this year and it was spewing hate on Deepika professionally in the beginning. What’s problematic is the condescending tone.
Now it’s branched out to Deepveer wedding which is beyond me. How on earth does it matter if one wedding happens before that or if they want to keep it private or public. Media speculate and there are lot of articles, but the kind of venom that comes from him is downright evil.
Can paid writing alone be the reason? Even if paid these writers try to add one or two smooth lines so that they don’t get sticky with said personalities. But jha articles are point blank hatred. Priyanka’s latest pr tactics are disturbing me. She was never like that. I always thought of her as a professional with sportsman spirit. She has had ugly fights with Bebo, yet I don’t think she’s got this personal with Bebo, even with a common bf between them. Then why with Dp?
I understand professional competition and trying to pull each other down. But recently all her pr articles are in an urge to prove her as having upper hand than Dp, even in bw. Forget that, what’s with this marriage competition articles. What’s going on? What went so wrong between them?

A lot of very negatives articles about DP started to go around coincidently after PC was announced in barhat (used to be articles but not that much). We started with how PC is richer, IG followers ect…. Then PC started dating Nick and articles about them being the best couple dont stop. Now articles about how she wants to get married only to upstage PC making PC the angel. First i though it was the old man doing only but the way he insisting with that one he is clearly paid.
I dont mind pro competition but who the hell touches the mariage topic? That’s ridiculous. Also she invited rs w/o what was she expecting? Completely disrespectful. Worse is no one even bothered to show up meanwhile they were all on IG celebrating.

Ultimately no one trusts media articles blindly now, everyone knows that a big chunk of it is paid PR. So for e.g. the article claiming PC was paid more for Bharat than DP for Padmaavat I highly doubt anyone bought it. PC has more Insta followers but she had to do a Jonas Bro for that and in my humble opinion thats too high a price to pay ;P

@Letstry what Pr articles came against Dp during her Hw release? I’m not aware of it. Yes even I thot Dp was getting insecure when she stopped mentioning PC at all in intl interviews. While on the other side, PC was taking stand for name getting mixed etc.

Making it in bollywood takes an assertive person, why not be able to choose who u work with? sometimes it works out..sometimes it doesn’t. Slb is tough and has a vision, I seriously doubt deepika would object his choice and he was meeting alot of male stars for awhile for this film. I dont think any keyboard commandos can fault her career choices, for the most part she and all her characters have shined. I can’t think of any female actor that has that to her credit right now

You said to not judge 2 min to whole movie and you said Kangana is more convincing based on these 2 min. Which one is it?
I, for one don’t consider Padmavati as one of DP best performance. I said she was ok. She was fantastic in the Jauhar scene which save it.
From Kangana we were expecting much better it was a let down. I don’t know what happened but her dialogue delivery was poor and she was missing that grace also. That’s my take only.
Rajeev masand wrote news and blinds about padmavat and issues that cropped up around the movie , in his column. So why didn’t Rajeev masand write about this incident, if it ever happened???

Didn’t pv write blinds about deepika-fawad, which were absolutely untrue since kjo was having an affair with fawad( he’s bi).
Now since viki is a “big star” according to people, he can reject Dp. But wasn’t viki sharing the ad with deepika on social-media and was being all happy that people liked their chemistry???? I guess viki likes Dp then….

@guest…. For me Osop is one amongst the various blogs /entertainment portals that I follow ( dna,rajeev masand,malvika sanghvi, spotboye, pinkvilla,bollywoodlife ,skj etc ) for different kind of perspective they offer.
With all due respect to admin, your so wrong if you think I merely form my opinions/thoughts by the way admin writes her articles. There were instances where I felt my personal opinions were different from admin.
Sure you can have your own opinions about deepika-ranveer (good or bad) ,fawad etc , I won’t complain.

to be fair considering RS is slb’s fav actor to work with his movie cast with RS/Dp there was little room left for ratan’s Role impact . even Hrithik rejected that part along with other names, fawad just had a meeting with him i doubt there ever a serious consideration by slb wrt to fawad he was just a name in the crowd of names being put forward for ratan’s role .
in a way it has turned out better for vicky rather thn being reduced to side object like shahid was he is bigger star he is now in the big league

Like i said SLB has never listen to anyone but himself he make the choices and nobody else. His abuse self force DP to not work on any others project during Padmavati. For him, actresses are props and nothing else. He replaced Kareena in no time when she refused to work with Ranveer. He also promised Leila role to PC then replace her with DP without her knowing.
If you think he will replace Vicky only bc DP said it lmao. I don’t believe it one bit. They replaced Vicky bc they wanted A-list and just like the multiples negative articles he spread against DP during the time he spread this one to shift the blame.

I watched Padmaavat again when it aired on TV this weekend. Honestly I dont understand the flak Deepika gets for it on forums like Pinkvilla. I think she’s luminous in every scene she has the most expressive eyes and there is a subtlety and grace she brings that is so un-Bollywoodlike, like a throwback to a bygone era…what can I say I was floored, again. 🙂
I thought shahid did a good job too given he had the most unsympathetic role. I was really looking forward to the Thugs and Manikarnika trailers but somehow found both underwhelming. I cant put my finger on it, just felt too over exaggerated, like I would get a headache if i sat through them in a theatre. Lets see maybe the reviews will prove me wrong. I think they will struggle to beat Bhansali in production values, costumes, music, and general gorgeousness. But Bhansali films do get boring and slow story-wise for people who arent fans of RSDP so maybe these films can do better in that department.
For some reason a lot of people outside twitter and forum though she was great. I though she was ok only but everything you said about her grace and poise appeared to me so clear when watching Manikarnika teaser. Kangana despite being the best actress was barely convincing as a Queen. Then you learn to appreaciate Deepika, her aura and screen presence which is like no other.

As a warrior queen, she is much more convincing than Deepika in Padmavati. you judge by a 2 minute teaser, and those people who don’t like the performance of Deepika in Padmavati are judged by the whole movie
Deepika herself had 5 scenes in the film if she had ego she would demand to be in atleast half of the screentime or did she allowed it because it was her boyfriend getting largest chunk of scenes of it was someone else she would have thrown fit
Actually dp had arranged meeting between fawad and SLB.. SLB didn’t see the Rajput king in him and left fawad out of it.. That’s when shahid was finalized. Fawad was rejected by SLB… Good that he didn’t play that role… It could have caused even more controversy…

I remember the movie being heavly promoted as a female centric movie thus the name Padmavati and not Khilji. Guess who got the most screen space?
I know Vicky was supposed to play Ratan which is why i said the theory of her kicking him out because of Ranveer make no sense. Ranveer was already playing Khilji.
If bugdet demanded bigger actor then where is Deepika hand in all of this is my question. If you are familiar with SLB and his way you know he will never allow this.
@ Letstry I have a feeling they cut some of her scenes after the controversy grew – they probably edited it heavily over the October-Jan period when people were going nuts burning buses and whatnot. That is definitely why they cut the Nainowale song probably because karni sena would have a problem with their goddess queen being shown as a simple girl in love. If you notice all the scenes that are left show her as stoic, poised, like a mythical creature rather than a human being. There is very little character development for Padmavati herself probably out of fear it would incite more protests and riots.
Just a theory, I would love to see the original version if they ever release it. Though SLB was adamant in the promos that he didnt compromise in anyway.
Yup.slb never ever offered fawad role its dp who lobbing for fawad after walking ramp with him for manish manhotra’s show n kjo’s partner n bff we all know how kjo obsessed with fawad.initial only Vicky was 1st choice of slb he take 3 month to complete the audition for role n later dp rejected to share intimate scene with him n demand A list actor than shahid kapoor came on board.

People have been running with this story since i don’t know. Deepika never really had Diva issue unlike most heroines in bollywood. Her personal life and everything around might be messy but she is a professional.

@letstry You confused admin’s write-up. Admin was talking about DP wanting RS to work in Imran’s comeback movie not Padmaavat. I never heard of this news before. DP is friends with both Imran and Avantika.
During BM promotion both DP and RS said a lot of their scenes got cut and SLB could release a whole new movie with all the footage that was cut. That is how SLB work. ..Jim talked about the mirror scene being cut, most probably cut because of Karni Sena protests. And Shobha Sant explicitly denied the rumour of DP scenes being cut. Her scenes got re-written when Shahid came on board. The kings role was not a big role initially…SLB always wanted a big star because of the high budget. Fawad was taken out of the race because of the ban. Fawad did pull a crowd to watch ADHM despite his scenes being cut so he has a better box office pull than Shahid for sure. Because the role was small a lot of A-listerd rejected it. Even Shahid came on board after his role was lenghten..
Dp’s scene n her romantic scene was chopped off bcz of protest.its true dp rejected to do romantic scene n kissing scene with a TV actor.BTW all those scene removed from royal family sagection which was involved in committee which form by government for film
