POLITICS is the last refuge of the scoundrel, it’s often said. These days it has also become the go-to vocation of actresses of a mature vintage. Take the case of this moon-faced star from the 1980s who acted in a slew of Bollywood blockbusters and then retired to play mother and housewife. But following a late divorce, she retreated into relative anonymity save for a few outings at celebrity bashes. We hear that the pretty lady has become rather close to a leading political light and has started taking up the ‘right’ causes and even dressing differently by which we mean more soberly. Keep your eyes peeled for she will soon start making more public appearances at social and political platforms and you will know who we are talking about.
