It is still in the news because now the media is debating on who should be and who would be cast to play this mogul. It was already being debated why Khiladi Kumar refused the film after agreeing to do it in the first place. He even accepted the film’s signing amount from the producers and then when he did not want to do it, he returned the money.
It was reported then that he wanted some changes in the script. The producers and director refused, so he just showed himself out. Now the media has asked him again who should play this moghul and he said that no one else can play that moghul onscreen aside from him. So, why did he refuse to do it if he has such hard feelings about this character? Once he got out, he should be more open to the idea of other actors taking over his spot. It can’t be that he got out by himself without anyone forcing him and yet, he still wants to play this role. Doesn’t make sense!
Now that Mamu Khan has taken over this project, it has been assumed that Raymond will take over this character. Actually, this is what mamu wants. He seems a little obsessed with Raymond’s career choices. It’s weird! Let’s wait and see who gets to take over this project.

It has led to speculation among industrywaalas who can’t seem to understand why the actor would leave the film, especially since it’s the passion project of a top producer with whom he has a successful professional relationship.
Turns out it may have something to do with the cynical public responses to another high-profile biopic that released recently. Insiders are saying the actor does not want to make a movie that could be contentious; that he just doesn’t need to make a movie that will divide his fans. Fair enough, but most insiders are wondering how the other star who’s taken his place—who has an even bigger reputation for being a stickler—took the bait.

One imp thing you guys miss out…business considerations. Aamir works majorly on profit sharing and that includes China. His movies in China are making 4 to 5 times the money they make in India. He wont take up any script that doesnt have potential in China, and also lessen his equity. Aamir is very very sharp when it comes to business sense.
This is the sole reason whatever Amir does. Chinese people here are crazy about him and they feel his stories are good and they connect with him somehow. 3 idiots is still being talked about as 1 of the best movies they has seen. I guess TZH got / is releasing shortly. Chinese love song and dancing in the movies but the movies to click here need to have some story or connect to do it. Doubt a movie like Sanju will be a hit in China. On the other hand Aamir movie like superstar, pk and all become a major hit here.
He wanted more money and saying that noone else but him could do that film is like putting a bullet to the head of the producer saying that if you dont pay me what i want for that movie then your movie will flop. These people will fall really hard when they do fall, actually I believe he is already falling. Hope he lands flats on his face.
Anyone who is doing movies handed to them on a platter by Aamir is a fool IMO. Aamir is no fool to hand out great scripts to other actors. If Salute and Mogul were exceptionally great scripts he would be doing it themselves not doing charity. SRK fell for Maamu’s trap. thank god Ranveer is no longer in the consideration for Mogul anymore. If Ranbir is smart he will reject Mogul as well. But I think he might do it because he really wants to be in Aamir’s good books.
@monalisa amir is smart enough to know when a trend has died. there are tons of bio pics on their way and the audience will soon get tired of them by the time this movie will come out its boxoffice appeal might not be as high.
amir likes to change the script the makers must have changed it for him now that he is no longer interested akshay knows the producers cant say they wont change the script and he was the initial choice
As for amir interest in RK choices it must be centered around hirani, srk,Rk are his fav’s, PK was ranbir, munna bhai was srk for him, now after sanju hirani must consider ranbir bankable that is why he wants to work with him again. Amir might want not to lose hirani as a director to work with to ranbir
It seems Mamu Jaan is not keen on any biopics.. First he put Rakesh Sharma biopic in SRK’s lap and now he wants to push over Gulshan kumar biopic into Ranbo’s lap…. I don’t know why Mamu keeps agreeing to biopics when he has no desire to do them…
Regarding his interest in Ranbo’s career is because of Mr hirani…. Aamir wants hirani to take him in all his future projects whereas hirani keeps taking ranbo. Hirani already said he will take Ranbo in three more films… Not sure if it will happen that way….
Strange blind. Stupid speculation. Akshay left the project long before the release of Sanju. Long before that, there were blind people in Akshay who did not arrange a fee (which may be true) and that there was a dispute with Bhushan (also may be true), but write that Akshay was scared after the result of Sanju? Akshay left the project about a year before the release of the film.
