The last blind item for today comes from Rajeev Masand in his weekly entertainment column. This might just be this actress’ lucky week because this is like the second or third time that she has been mentioned in a blind item. Though, we don’t see the point of mentioning something that happened years earlier for no reason at all. Perhaps, Mr. Masand wanted to write about how this actor ousted the actress from an earlier film and now he requested her to be in his upcoming film. But, he didn’t mentioned that at all. He just wrote a blind item about something that happened years ago and we are sure that this has happened many times with this actress.
Upon reading the blind item, we just feel that some details are misleading. Like for example, everyone knows that this director/producer is the one who produces films that feature this leading actress, who he also launched. Everyone knows that he takes a special interest in her career and for him, her success is his success. She is a bankable star, which is why he always gets this co-produced credit.
For this film too, he wanted this young actress to be in it. Yes, we don’t think that the actor did anything in this. Maybe the producer is the one who leaked this story and changed a couple of details. Who knows? Now that other details have come out, we have to wonder how the film would have turned out had the director got her way and picked her first choice.

Male superstars will tell you they don’t interfere in casting decisions, but more often than not, they’d be lying. A-listers like to give the impression that they submit themselves to the vision of their directors, but anyone who knows how Bollywood works will tell you that the power on a movie set is usually concentrated with the film’s leading man, especially if he’s one of the country’s top stars.
Like this one actor who, a few years ago, turned down a project being produced by his close friend because he didn’t think the actress who’d been approached to star in it could pull off the role. The film was more or less centred on the female character and the director had locked this pretty but vapid leading lady for the role. When the actor was approached, he expressed interest in taking the role but made it clear he wouldn’t do it if the makers were insistent on casting the actress.
The producer promptly dumped the female star when it became clear that the superstar’s presence in the film would elevate the project considerably, and he was able to replace her with at talented young actress whom he also happens to mentor. Once the younger actress was in, the superstar signed up. And the film was back on track.

Rajeev Masand is KJo’s whatever. He’s always doing interviews with Rajeev, Masand is on KWK so this is not surprising. But will KJo go after SRK? I doubt that…
In his book, he was saying how he didn’t think much of SRK and was an aamir fan. Ofcourse, back then SRK was way ahead than the other two, and he had to kiss his a—. He has only started interacting with Aamir and Salman only after they got ahead SRK.
No wonder SRK isn’t friends with him anymore. I think Shah Rukh just about tolerates Karan for Yash Johar and his family now. I think Salman and Aamir knows what an opportunist karan is, which is why they’ve worked with Dharma while doing a lot of movies with YRF.
I know, my friend. I like your reasoning. But agree with me, the SRK did not play a cameo in the film, it was a full-fledged secondary role. Plus he became co producer. That is, he had a catch. I know that for Zero Anand wanted Sonam (his favorite), but do you remember the blind where they say that Katrina came to the house of the SRK at night and literally begged to take her to the film? Of course, the heart of the SRK melted. And then Gauri’s film is not an entertaining film, it’s a deep film starring the female character, of course the SRK refused to be in the film with Katrina. He was not a fool and he knew that it would be a flop if there was Katrina. in this movie you need to play and you need a talented actress. Srk businessman and just could not agree to Kat. Another thing is a large-budget film with a strong casting and plot, where there is a place for a glamorous heroine. In fact there is nothing to play and the central character belongs to Anushka
you all will be so disappointed once the film releases!! sigh 😑
On another note, Rohit Shetty debunked that elobarate blind about how Sara bagged Simmba. Even @admin thought it was a made up blind. (The minute I saw Ranveer described as an enthusiastic actor, I knew Kjo must be behind it). Rojit said Sara approached him, not Kjo or her mommy. Also he said she is made for masala movies. Did he indirectly imply she is a bad actress only good to play flower pot roles in masala movies. Lol..
back then whenever a new actor did well, it was always the end of Shah Rukh Khan. Especially after Hrithik Roshan debut.
The same is happening with Ranveer Singh now. blinds planted against him. Even SSR after Dhoni, for that matter.
Interesting that none of these actors are from film families.
guys in Dear Zindagi, the female role was the main role. she had an accent. so the SRK wanted to see a talented actress. in Zero the main female role belongs to Anushka, Katrina is a secondary heroine. it is needed there for glamor. so the SRK does not mind.
I agree, SRK sometimes does interfere in casting. Case in point, for Zero ALR lobbied Sonam but SRK rejected.
But in the case of Dear Zindagi, no other name was attached apart from Kat’s name until Kjo came in to the picture. And Kjo got SRK onboard. You think SRK would do a cameo for just anybody. SRK is known to do cameos in his friends movies and Gauri Shinde is not SRK’s friend but Kjo is. Don’t know what kjo’s trying to do by spreading this rumour.
this would’ve been a little believable if Kat wasnt in Zero. It was obviously KJo who got her replaced. Anyway, thank God for small mercies. Kat would have been horrible in Dear Zindagi
the superstars get involved in casting ofcourse. Just look at Race 3.
Who’s planting all these against SRK? The reason he’s still standing is because he is a likeable person and like Monalisa mentioned above, all these blinds are all along the same lines.
Is this kat’s PR attempt to paint as a actor by attaching her name to a well scripted movie. ?
It is clearly about Sonam and not Katrina – He ousted her from Dear Zindagi and then the ALR film – that’s why she said that ‘I don’t think SRK wants to work with me.’
Katrina is too old for the role when you have SRK as the experienced , fatherly shrink . It’s a coming of age sort of movie where the heroine needs to be much younger and not give off potential romantic vibes .
No one in a right mind will offer a movie to Kat which demands acting and expressions. It’s Kat PR for sure. Alia is the only choice for the movie. Kat PR spread rumours of her being the first choice of Bm and RL but SLB said “No ! NEVER !”
Even lallu force slb to cast her mastani which slb rejected gosh this thankless PR everyone know lallu do such thing for her how she get film opposite varun by the way what I said about October look like true so varun didn’t ruin by her like sid n adi.
Kjo trying to make it look like SRK ousted Kat. Even before Kjo came on board as a producer,Gauri Shinde who wanted Kat for the part . After Kjo became the producer he was the one who wanted his fav Alia in it not SRK. Gauri agreed because Kjo was getting SRK onboard as well. What nonesense is this.. SRK is already working with Kat in Zero.
Why all of a sudden so much negative blinds about SRK, specifically about how he treat actresses. This the third one this year. Maybe after he won that international award for women empowerment someone is buring.

I’m sorry, but how could there be Katrina in Dear Zindagi? this is a joke? this is not a big budget film and there was needed an actress who can play. It could not have been Katrina. who wanted her for the role? SRK did not want to work with it?
