Superstar bhai saw red in the face because no one has dared to talk to him like that.

This young actress had in her initial years openly expressed a wish to work with this top hero. But somehow the projects never materialised. However, the stars soon swung in her favour and she has since then gone on to become a formidable name in the industry. So, much so that when the hero expressed a wish to work with her, it was her chance to turn him away. And she did.
Citing date issues, she turned down all prospective films with this hero. Well, now guess what, it’s a turn of tables once again. Slighted at being turned down by this heroine, star or not, the hero swore never to work with the lady again.
But guess what. It’s not as simple as it seems. The actress seems to be losing out on plum projects because of this hero and his star power. So much so, that a filmmaker who she is a favourite of refused to cast her in his film and opted for another face instead.
And all this under pressure from the star-hero. This isn’t the only mega-project she’s lost out on. A few years back too, she lost out on a big film since the hero was a favourite of the producer and they let go of her in favour of their hero.
But while the other older project didn’t matter much, losing out on the new project has upset the heroine no end. But the filmmaker here is helpless in front of the hero’s demands and has no option but to adhere to his wishes and work with a heroine he’s never worked with before.
Now, that the actress is facing the wrath of the hero’s ego, she’s probably wondering if she had made a mistake by turning down the film with him early on.

I think it’s stupid to say Slb brought hike for Rs Dp or they did for Slb. It was mutually exclusive. The ratios might be different but still.
Rs got his career shaped/ cemented with Slb but now he’s building it on his own.
Slb was a great director but like some said he was like Vishal or Kashyap, films that had an audience/fanbase but not necessarily successful filmmaker.
After Sawariya debacle, associating with Rs and Dp did prove frutiful to him too. Mona pointed it out right, after RL success or BM success he could’ve got anyone to play to his tunes. But he went with Rs Dp for a reason. It’s the trio that worked magic.
Yes someone said it right Dp got her superstar image solidified with Leela and Mastani. But the thing is she could’ve done it without Slb films too. In 2013, CE, Yjhd, in 2015 Piku could do it for her considering how other actresses were not catching up. Only Kangana did with Queen, TWMR but then she made wrong choices.
Also Lucy you’re kinda right and wrong. Producers do invest with actresses name too though rarely. And after Sreedevi, Madhuri it was seen only with Kat and Deepika. Kat for that Brother ki Dulhan or Ajab films. She had a hay day then but again wrong choices took it away.
For Deepika I say bz Chhapaak itself, though small film, didn’t have a banner attached to it when it reached Dp bz producers know it’s a subject that might not make money. But by Dp associating with it, as producer too, she could use her contacts or could lure Fox star to co produce. Even though small project it’s definitely a catch.
And if Ambanis who know business well thinks they can give Deepika a price higher than Ranveer or Shahid, she does hold that stake. Like Deepika herself said, just b.s. she demands no one is going to pay. Also her association with Padmavati brought 5 crore investment from Tanishq to the project Padmavati. That says it all.
And if the superhero movie she’s hinting at does happen I think it’s proved beyond words.
That said I think Rl was basking in Dp success rate and Rsdp jodi. But BM & P worked bz of the trio and audience having trust in all three equally.
@ananya also the fact padmavati was mounted on such a lavish scale 180-190cr says something about the faith the producers had in her. After all she played the titular character and the promotions entirely revolved around her – its a different matter her screen time turned out lesser than expected and it became a khilji/Karni show. At the time PV was signed SLB/Ranveer only had two 100cr hits both with her and Shahid had a very patchy record (of course even then it became a big deal they paid her at parity which just shows how little Bollywood values actress contributions).
However I am puzzled she didn’t go on a signing spree after. On one hand I kinda buy her explanation she wasn’t offered anything exciting – the only really exciting female roles in the last 2.5 years have been raazi, manikarnika and to an extent tabu in andhadhun.

Yes true. She was flooded with scripts as she said. But I think she wanted to do something meaningful. Her outlook to work has changed. And I love the choice she finally made.
Chhapaak is a great choice. It might not be a money spinning project but the thought behind is raw and genuine. A film that needed a star to voice it to reach more people. Just like how Sonam took up Ek Ladki, though performance not up to mark bankrolling and doing the role was brave.
Same goes for Dp here. I’m actually considering stanning her but then lately every celeb is a disappointment so I’m just going to enjoy their on-screen work as of now.
Wow. I have been spending some time on the subreddit for Bollywood Blinds and I never realised just how biased and ridiculous OSOP is, until the same blinds were released on both platforms and I read it first on reddit without the rant on OSOP that appears before every blind item.
She went to Salman to rat Katrina out and that’s why he won’t work with her? He’s an abuser and her conscience kept her from taking up great projects with him? WOW. This may not be RS-DP pr but the admin definitely puts a biased spin on the narrative, in favour of DP vs p much entire industry.

Don’t say SLB boosted DP’s career you can say this for ranveer’s career but not deepika with deepika you can say it was mutual benefit for oth SLB & deepika. when deepika did ramleela her career was on rise when she signed it cocktail just came out as a hit giving her all the limelight & rave reviews & when ramleela released she had blockbusters like race YJHD & CE before ramleela in fact SLB was down after disasters like sanwariya & guzarish etc & katrina kareena refused to work with him at that time in KWK when kjo asked about directors SLB always came last on the priority list of actresses like anushka etc & at last time he signed deepika for ramleela …… at time of bajirao mastani DP was the only superstar in the whole cast at the time of release & at PV time DP was more popular than other cast members too so she was giving benefit to SLB at her top position….. other than that she got death threats cox of his movie & at the end what she got?

If you read the blind carefully second and third paragraph suggest that salman is asking his powerful director/producer friends to not cast Deepika in their mega ventures apart from the ones he’s acting in.
Salman did the same with ranbir when he was living in with katrina. Salmans hitting back at the weakest time of her career i.e after she got married. Salman used go around asking powerful ppl in showbiz to not associate themselves with ranbir.
Salman controls the careers of actresses in his harem.He’ll dictate them to act or not act with certain actors/directors. It’s fine if lolman hates her and dosent want to work with her. But he’s certainly trying to destroy her by suggesting other’s to not work with her.

I think everyone is getting it wrong even though Admin mentioned it in the intro. The film she was in talks with Slb was different. He was juggling between four film ideas, as per his own words. Finally he chose to go with the film with Salman and not the one with Deepika. She might be feeling disappointed in that, not because she didn’t get to work with Salman.
We all know she was offered a launch pad by Salman but she denied. She has denied many films with him. It must have got on his ego. But him holding a grudge because she outed Kat, isn’t it far fetched. I mean she wasn’t lying and was looking for both of their best interest.
And honestly since she rejected so many films with Salman, I don’t think she’ll ever work with him. Others say it externally but take up when the film is good. She does the opposite, she says she would love to do, to keep egos and not actually take up.

Frankly, I’m glad. DP was a flash in the pan- good luck combined with enormous PR push. She doesn’t have the longevity of a Sridevi or a Madhuri, nor the talent of Tabu to survive. She’s outacted by Kangana and, hate to say it, Alia. Her time is up. She had a good run, but she should be in debt to SLB for rescuing her career with Ram Leela.

If Deepika feels let down it’s cos’ of SLB. Everyone has forgotten that there was a time SLB was almost pariah in the industry. Even Salman wouldn’t touch him with a barge pole. After Guzaarish failed he was down and out. It has been Deepika and Ranveer and their joint collaboration that have pulled SLB out of the doldrums. She deserves some loyalty. It’s one thing if the role doesn’t suit her, it’s quite another for SLB to allow himself to be dictated to by someone who wasn’t there for him when he needed the support. Boo to SLB.
As far as slb is concerned I think even after the flops everyone was dying to work with him.atleast the new ones.and ranveer signed it just after ladies vs Ricky bahl when he was considered as the next Vivek oberoi.and cocktail hadn’t released when Deepika was lobbying for the role.she became big in 2013 but had 7 back to back flops when she signed ram leela.with that sort of raunchy hddcs setting the film would have been a hit with others too.more than ranveer Deepika it’s slb who did more for them.he gave Ash her first filmfare and also Deepika .ranveer became a potential a Lister after ram Leela.three period films later I think it’s a wise decision to work with someone else.salman may be is a bad choice but I guess is special for slb because he worked with him when no one else would.also he was the few to support him when black sets burned down .as for Alia I see it as a strategy,Karan will have to move sooryavanshi as he won’t sabotage alias film .

It’s silly to give credit of her success to slb. Slb cast her in her in his movies when she was in top form. Infact major producers like ero’s,viacom won’t bankroll mega projects if the actor’s are not viable no matter how big a director slb is.
Ero’s,viacom were major producers in slbs last three ventures. Infact slbs share in the ventures is less. They’re the one’s who green-light a movie and take part in big decisions in regards to the movie

He might have boosted Ranveer’s career Who didn’t get big opportunities then but with Bajirao character he paid it back. SLB was initially thinking to do it Salman 🤦🏼♀️. Imagine how horrible it would have been with Bhai acting skills. With Khilji he literally saved the movie after SLB had to cut a lot of portions of others with protests.

Ramleela was rolled when cocktail was declared a hit and slb was sure all her next projects are sure shot success. Padmaavat was bankrolled around 200 cr, budget is higher than budget of most khan films. No production house would roll a big project just based on the director( even if he’s slb). So viacom were confident on their cast. Even if srk or hritik or ajay comes on board the budget would have been 200 cr and no more. Same with bajirao. This shows both eros and viacom were confident on cast as well.

There is a reason why SLB casted DPRS in three mega budget projects and his dream projects BM and Padmaavat back to back. Because they are one of the most bankable onscreen jodis at the time and he wanted to use them to the maximum. Padmaavat budget was finalized on DP and RS’s names alone the other actor was not finalized. BM went overbudget. @pooja bm made 188 crores in India. Now SLB-DP-RS is considered as one of the most bankable trio in the business. After RamLeela he could have casted anybody for BM and Padmaavat (big superstars like Salman SRK, Hrithik) but he still chose to work with DP and RS because he knew the jackpot he hit with these two. Even now he is working with the most bankable stars currently Salman and Alia because box office success is very important for him. He was disheartened after Saawariya and Guzaarish flopped I remember reading his interview that he wants boxoffice success too so he went for his most commercial movie RL and RL gave him a bankable jodi DPRS who he repeated in his dream projects BM and Padmaavat. He wanted to make BM twice but shelved it (first with Salman, Ash but when Ash refused he went for Salman and Kareena but shelved it when Salman and Kareena signed kyun ki together as he wanted a fresh pairing for BM). Even for Padmaavat he waited till DP came back from shooting XXX to start the movie and paid her 12 crores.
SLB’s Devdas and HDDCS were just hits not big blockbusters (these movies starred SRK and Salman at their peak), Black average (no superstar), Khamoshi a flop, Saawariya (disaster), Guzaarish (flop). He was never known as a hit machine or king of blockbuster (like Rohit Shetty, Hirani) but as director with a great vision, genius who make beautiful movies. He was like Vishal Bhardwaj, Anurag Kashyap, Imtiaz Ali who are not bankable directors (mostly hit and miss) but everyone wants to work with them because of their vison and great movies they come up with. Before RL and BM he was hit and miss boxoffice wise but RL, BM, Padmaavat made him on par with Rohit, Hirani as a big bankable director.
If you look at all the trade people, reviews, wom back then RL worked because of DP’s hype at that point (she had Race 2, CE, YJHD, 3 back to back blockbusters that year before RL) and DPRS onscreen chemistry, SLB was never considered as a bankable director because of the two back to back flops Saawariya and Guzarish. Even during BM and Dilwale clash everyone thought Dilwale will win because of superstar SRK and hit machine Rohit Shetty, blockbuster jodi SRK-Kajol combo. Dilwale opened bigger than BM but could not sustain as the movie was crap. Trade and audience was surprised when BM won the clash as everyone was betting that Rohit-SRK, Kajol combo (blockbuster combo) will win over SLB-DP-RS as SLB was not as bankable as Rohit and DPRS are no match to evergreen blockbuster SRK-Kajol jodi and RS/DP not a superstars like SRK.
So the trio SLB- DP-RS all benefited from each other and I’m sure he work with these two again. SLB with three big hits solidified his position as a bankable director and got awards for BM. RS and DP got bo hits and awards for the movies (DP for RL and RS for BM, Padmaavat).
These blinds need to be taken with a pinch of salt.
Didn’t Salman want Deepika for Prem Ratan Dan Payo? She declined cos she was busy with one of SLB’s movies, maybe that’s why he felt slighted.
That whole story about her going to Bhai, telling him about Kat and Ran AND HIM BEING UPSET WITH HER sounds far-fetched to me.
Deepika wasn not gonna remain SLB’s muse forever, of course with time he would need another face for his stories. I am a DIE_HARD Deepika fan (my comments here can attest to that) but I would have shot myself with a stun gun if she signed the 4th SLB back-to-back.
Chappak doesnt look like something she has done before which is what her fans need from her, versatility. We need to see her in something other than a period drama in the meantime.

When Deepika went out of her way to announce how she was exhausted by SLB movies and needed a break, it was damage control. She already knew she was being rejected by SLB.
But one thing has now become clear. Alia is in SLB movie only because Salman wants her. Wonder why SLB is so desperate?!
Deepika was making the mistake Kajol made in being pro-SRK against the other Khans. That’s why she was rejecting films with Salman. She should have been like actresses like Rani and Kareena who were smart enough in being close to all of them.
Anyway, Deepika need not bother. Salman is not going to last for the next 20 years. Ranveer is her husband, Ranbir has a thing for her and actors like Vicky are eager to work with her so she’ll be fine.
