Bollywood Blind Item – February 2019 – 14

There cannot be any other director, who fits the below blind item. From Mumbai Mirror, this blind item speaks about this upcoming film that is quite expensive and requires VFX. It also mentions that the film has action scenes in there. To be fair, there are about 3 films being shot at the moment that are quite big-budget films and all that. But the only one that fits the blind item seems to be this guess.

Anyway, we are putting the other guesses in there so you decide. Check out the blind item below from Mumbai Mirror.

    Bollywood Blind Item

IT is touted to be one of the most expensive films to be ever made, and its making hasn’t been without its share of hiccups. Despite a stellar star cast, it seems that the maverick director isn’t too happy with some of the scenes involving one of the film’s biggest actors. We hear the action scenes didn’t look too convincing, so the director is redoing them in a VFX lab. The fun bit here is that he hasn’t told the actor in question of his tweaks.

    OSOP Guesses

    Film: Brahmastra

    Actor: Ranbir Kapoor

    Director: Ayan Mukherji

    Other Possible Guesses

    1. @Yuri I never thought SRK or Salman looked like college students in their 30s. By his 30s Salman had bulked up and lost his cute young look. To see young actors playing young people go see an old movie Bobby or Romeo and Juliet directed by Antonioelli.

    2. @Lucy very classiest remark about DP’s accent being vernacular. She went to one of Bangalore’s best schools and colleges. Anushka Sharma, minister Renuka Choudhary were among others who went to the same college MCC. She carries a Konkani twang. As irritating as those vern actors who say I said ki, or matlab or lekin right in the middle of English. Why are you embarrassed by her when you hang with goras? They think she’s super sexy. And they don’t expect us to speak with any accent other than an Indian one. I know I know it’s not sexy like a French or Italian accent. Blame the language for not achieving likability status with goras. Yes DP is not articulate. Neither is Alia or Anushka. The most articulate are not big stars. I like Nargis Fakhri, Frida Pinto, Bhumi, Kriti. Katrina is awesome. As also KP and Vidya It’s a gift. Great if you have it. Can’t condemn someone who didn’t have it but had truckloads of talent. Sridevi?

      1. @ Neep If i understand correctly thats not what Lucy meant… atleast what I think.

Actresses not being able to articulate is a very 80’s thing . Anushka is verbose , she is not at Priyanka etc level articulate but she speaks good english and Hindi.

Madhuri, Rani are the last heroines who were moderate level speakers but they atleast spoke Hindi very well being BW actress.

Kajol , Preity were articulate enough for their times. You are wrong Aishwarya, priyanka, parineeti etc are all good at speaking

Deepika is especially alarmingly stands out coz she went to great schools, lived in bangalore, born to celeb parent yet she cannot string 2 sentences together nor is she good in Hindi speak. Ranveer was literally handing her words during Ram- Leela promotions.

It still wud have been okay if she was not giving wtf statements about wanting to have white babies with VIN (ur reference to wanting GORAS approval can be used here).

Unfortunately , you reference to Sridevi is misplaced, who started acting from age 4 and never went to even Kindergarten let alone elementary school . Nor Deepika is the talent Sridevi was who ruled Tamil- Telugu- Bollywood …a superstar we never saw in actresses in Indian cinema after her.

Finally, Actors are giving more interviews now, more promotions its annoying to watch all these when you cannot speak with moderate fluency when there is so much talking involved. Deepika truly stands out from everyone out there being unable to speak…dont blame audience for noting it.

      2. Watch Deepika’s role in xxx…..Lucy’s concerns are not misplaced…her dialogue delivery in a jarring accent was embarassing and distracting…she herself seem distracted bt it and unable to act…

        1. I think Deepika makes the most sense actually and is perfectly articulate. Everyone gets nervous once in awhile and every celebrity is quoted out of context, especially the popular ones. She can hardly be blamed for being cautious and careful when she speaks publicly. Also these people are actors, not intellectual minds making government policy, it’s not fair to put them on a pedestal for every issue. Don’t like them? Don’t watch their films or interviews.
OSOP is turning into a place for frustrated haters sadly. What does this even have to do with the not so blind item?

          1. The flaw got pointed out coz there was a comment made about her great personality…no she does not have it …nor does she speak well…she is trying hard though..at least in the actress round table she was fine…it doesn’t mean that people hate her….just saying that she does lack in personality by loads…she is definitely a beauty though. .

      3. mentioning an obvious short coming is not hating. Saying why something is blatantly obvious and proving a factual reason is not hating. She is beautiful, successful much more than a lot of us , so while giving credit where it is due …

@london She is hardly cautious if she can make those cringe statements. She is cautious when she talks about her competitors but she loses it as many times as she holds it. I actually agree with she wud be good as desi wonder woman role.

The most cautious never losing it diplomatic crown is Aishwarya. She probably has a phd in it…i say it with equal admiration and detest .

Ranveer is another cautious guy …He never gives headlines about others except himself. He talks so much yet claims ignorance in controversial topics . we all know that isnt true . I find even Katrina to be very diplomatic. So yes one can be interesting in conversations without being controversial . Engaging in conversation , spontaneous wit during interviews is an art in itself. Some have , some dont.

      4. Neep,if you read the comment properly you would know I was criticising her accent in the film.not in real life.she was playing a character where she had a vernacular Indian accent with no mention of the character having grown up in that environment.either make the character back story Indian,or she needed to modulate her voice diction and accent to suit the character she was playing.the way she played ,the body language and the swag it looked so put on and trying too hard.it was embarrassing to watch.it doesn’t matter to me what is her education level or which schools she went or the accent she has,as long as she changes her voice and accent for the characters she played.she was supposed to have a chaste Urdu diction as mastani, ranveer priyanka slipped once in a while but had consistent Marathi twang throughout.and several of her films, she sounds the same and never as the character she is playing.and I think that is part of an actors job, along with the physical appearance they need to change body language, mannerisms, voice diction speech delivery etc.in real life she should be very proud of retaining her original accent but she can’t speak the same when she is playing characters on screen just to show off that she is proud of her accent.thats all that I meant.and the reference to my “gora” friends,I was embarrassed as deepika at that time was projected as the best actress of Indian cinema.everyone was like this is the best actress you got,and these are people I took to watch haider, who were pretty impressed by tabus diction and wanted to know why she spoke like that.oviously if you are a fan you cannot find it bad,but that role was soo so bad it was difficult to watch and say she is the best actress of Indian cinema.

      5. It’s not about not knowing English. She has enough vocabulary to communicate and articulate. She was super fun and playful before Ranbir’s episode and That KWK episode. Check her interview during wake up Sid promotions with Raymond and Konkana.
Somehow Raymond and depression sucked that playfulness out of her life. She is cautious about everything now which makes her low confident. Also both Hindi and English are not her native languages and she is an introvert. I think she is directing that energy into her characters which is why her acting got better after that.
Just imagine an woman who is so vocal about her love and tattoo before and suddenly becoming mum about it during 6 years dating. It took a toll on her.
Last written interview with film fare makes it so obvious

    3. Lady Laetitia Knollys

Every movie of Ranbir’s are all rehashes of each other .It was nice in Wake up Sid ,but after that he’s been doing too many of those coming-of-age ,finding himself roles. Ranveer & Varun are doing other things , then there’s Rajkumar Rao ,Ayushman Khurana & Vicky Kaushal who have all done better movies than Ranbir. I am sorry ,but I hated the Dutt biopic .

    4. Ranbir looks haggard. He has no choice for an alternate career either. Time to pack the makeup and start a career directing or something.

And Alia, boy I say this a million times. They keep shoving her down our throats. Just because she is young and a star kid. I would rather watch Taapsee or Patralekha in movies that require strong female characters. Taapsee would have been perfect in Gully Boy as well. And now we have a long line of wannabes coming from these film families. God save us!!

      1. @ShinyObjects you’re being a bit hyperbolic there. Alia can be irritating offscreen and I did find Raazi overrated but she was flawless in Gully Boy. Tapsee is good too but she is limited as an actress and only good in tough girl parts..I find her dialogue delivery grating. Alia is pretty versatile and trust me outside PV and this forum -where she does rightfully get called out on her antics- she has a massive fan following. Regular ppl that i meet offline tend to adore her and think of her as a star who can also act. They are not wrong. I am on the fence about her likability but when she is good she is excellent. A large part of what makes a star is hype and good pr but you also need to have what it takes…otherwise Amisha wouldve been a bigger star than Kareena, Sonam than DP and so forth. Kjo has helped her by killing her competition and that is sad but she has talent in spades

Again regarding Ranbir..still too soon to write him off. I am hardly a fan but somehow on here..I always end up defending him because it feels bizarre to see him thought of as Abhishek or Uday Chopra. He had a 300 crore film in 2018!! He is a mess in his personal life but unless he is a rapist, murderer or terrorist I will watch anyone doing exciting films and his next couple of films look like they might be cool. If Brahmastra or Shamshera actually do look good..it ll be an exciting time for the movies. Uski personal life ka achaar dalna hai kya? We all know it’s all fakeness and smoke and mirrors anyway. It’s fun to point out and gossip about (I love doing it myself) but that has no bearing on his actual work. The only really awful thing I hold him responsible for is taking his talent for granted like his cousin KKK ( whom I have loved in stuff like Omkara and Dev when she really challenged herself) and not working hard enough. If he pulls up his socks (and the litmus test is Brahmastra) i certainly wont be thinking of his breakups or linkups. Neither will anyone else. Seriously guys, Im not being sarcastic but I just dont get it?

        1. Ranbir is a creep….personal llfe matters….more importantly how he treats women matters….. otherwise what kind of message r u giving…treat people esp women like shit but other women n Fangirls will support u?…I call bullshit on that line of thought ….

          1. @kala- you can call BS all you like but everyone is free to do what they like in their personal lives. If Ranbir was beating or mistreating ppl like Salman it would be a diff matter but how can we police breakups between two consenting adults? Last i checked being a manchild or manwhore while being a sign of serious immaturity is not anything more. Daniel Day Lewis my most fave actor in the world knocked up this actress Isabelle Adjani but left her for someone else. It was monumentally insensitive and shows the person is fcked up and emotionally retarded but still not a crime. How can I stop watching his films for his personal life ? In time he grew and has shown himself to be a good father despite his mistakes. Ditto Saif..another actor I like. I hope Im not sounding defensive because I do see what youre saying and how @London explained it.. i feel the same way about Kjo being a snake (even then if kjo was a little more lowkey and a good film maker maybe his snakiness wouldnt bother me) but I still think this casanova kapoor thing – undoubtedly self perpetuated by ranbir till it backfired- is stupid and irrelevant. I like to gossip about it but ppl take it all so seriously- forgetting that we dont know anyone’s true face..literally…perhaps Sunil Shetty’s ..lol..but that is perhaps about it. Expecting actors to be a beacon of morality in their personal life and their love life is a bit much for me (not counting any violence or hardik pandya type utterances). And not only that…i genuinely feel it forces actors to live PR enhanced lives. Just my take on it. Ps – And I know you really wont believe me but Im not even a RK fan! I just strongly believe in the principle of this thing..i find this idea of celeb images exhausting..one of the main reasons why i think this business is so tough

      2. @Anon I know what you mean. before i started frequenting bollywood sites i genuinely liked alia i thought she was cute and a fearless actor, completely unselfconscious on screen. its only when i started reading more about her offscreen antics and of course after the whole nepotism debate kicked off that i started finding her annoying.

Yes she’s gotten plum roles handed to her and we will never know what other actresses could have made of them. But i agree with you she was a delight in gully boy i just loved her chemistry with Ranveer. Both characters played so well off each other – like fire and ice. It was refreshing to see the girl being a complete gunda throwing punches and all, while the boy being so diffident and restrained. And both actors just disappeared into the skin of their characters, i never once thought i’m watching ranveer and alia but murad and safeena. mujhe sequel chahiye!!

Ranbir is a different story because most of his films are so legit bad and the characters he plays are so unlikeable, its hard to root for him on or off screen.

      3. @London Haha! Quite right! Sequel toh banta hai! I loved the film, loved these two, loved the world and freaking adored MC Sher! What a cool dude! I somehow liked the Kalki storyline also.

I guess I see your point about off screen rubbing off on onscreen perception. Like none of the actors’ off screen stuff bothers me enough to deter me from their films but maybe with KJO i am that way. I find him so irritating superficial and matlabi that I just can’t with him.

With Ranbir and Ranveer and Varun I just have this feeling of…finally we have stars who are actors first!! That means we ll have a spate of amazing films like Gully Boy (or to a lesser degree October) because these guys will back them and put their weight behind stuff.

      4. @Anon,
These guys you mentioned are actors first and stars later, it is all due to changing and demanding audience. Movie goers’ taste has changed and they no longer do hero worship like in the past. So for the current generation to keep their career afloat they need to be versatile and hard working along with good pr. SRK literally made a career being a lover boy with open arms. Salman still does those over the top action and masala films which are usually remakes. And Akshay for a long time stuck to his khiladi image making one after the other khiladi movies.

I think only Aamir diversified among the khans from the early age. Akshay too is trying various genres. SRK is still trying without much success. I don’t know where he is hiding now. Hardly any news from him.

Ranveer, Ranbir and Varun are also competing with new 100 crore guys like ayushman, raj kumar and Vicky kaushal. So they need to up their game.

Both last year and this year, only the movies with proper content have clicked. Even small budget movies are working big time. I think the future is looking good for Indian cinema.

      5. @kala- you can call BS all you like but everyone is free to do what they like in their personal lives. 1. @anon ..Emotional abuse is just as bad……many of his girlfriends have spoken directly and indirectly about it….you can go ahead watch his movies and contribute…I do believe u when you say u r not a fan…but I don’t put money in the pockets of any man who treat women like crap…it’s just a personal rule I have…this guy especially has disgusted me just coz of how good he is at abuse and gaslighting….there is a deep misogyny that I can’t ignore…I don’t really think I am missing much if I don’t watch his movies anyway…. there is a lot of art around to enjoy without supporting abusers ….i cant seperate that art from the artist…coz that way even woody Allen would thrive…then where will that leave us ..where do u really draw the line….

      6. Anon, let’s be honest here. Alia, Ranbir etc are not talking about movie hits, but also the public adulation and hero worship that goes with superstardom. In India, you cannot seperate those 2 things.

That superstardom depends on how we as a public feel about them and our own value system. How they behave, and our acceptance of them, legitimizes their behavior across the board – that is the value system we are endorsing. I am not interested in watching a movie, if by extension I am causing harm to our value system. And when it comes to how women are treated in Entertainment/Art and Media – no Art, and no artist is above basic human dignity.

      7. @ Anon

Salman beating up is wrong but driving women insane to self destruction emotional abuse is fair game is a very old school thought. These days emotional abuse if not more treated equally as abuse as Physical.

Beauty and talent are dime a dozen in bollywood. Alia not just lobbies for the best roles but she actually gets other already cast actress ousted .

What Alia and Ranbir along with their cohorts(KJO n gang) do is abuse of power pretty shamelessly…forget about roles . Alia taking picture with katrina …u think katrina wanna be part of we are still friends after Alia is humping Ranbir …but Alia uses her power into such kind of submission . Same thing done by Ranbir … KWK episodes are always about Ranbir , brining his ex’es and projecting him as a stud and everyone wants him.

tell me somthing Kjo and ranbir have questions about stud kapoor in every deepika episode knowing how she will talk baout him…but guess what KJO never asked his most recent ex katrina about awkwardness between her BFF Alia .

But ask DP who is actually getting married (then) and broke up a decade ago with Ranbir about awkwardness between DP and Alia .

There are thousands of examples like this …its not about how their bedroom life is that is being looked down upon . Its the power abuse they do with reluctant ex’es and competitors. Coercing praises for Alia and Ranbir, holding grudges when not answering according to their wishes…shading other actresses…the list is endless…bullying.

Since when pushing not one but 2 people into water when u know the other person may drown and die is not called abuse …

      8. @anon Content is the key in todays age. An Ayushman Khurana, RKR, Vicky can deliver a 100 crore hit when the content is right when they get positive wom. But they are neither stars nor superstars because these movies are positive wom driven movies. So if Ranbir deliever good content movie he can be like them but superstardom is way out of his reach. Superstardom is defined by the opening numbers. if the content is liked and niche movies with just actors (not even stars like RKR, Ayushman, Kartik) can give 100 crore movies with positive wom eventhough they had low openings.

Varun and Tiger are mass favourites. Ranveer is a mass and class favourite as he gives similar opening number in double digits in both class and mass movies.

Ranbir maybe a good actor but he still does not have the kind of fan following a Ranveer, Tiger or Varun enjoys. He has been in the industry way longer than them yet actors much younger than him have taken over him in fan following.

Regarding Sanju, Ranbir never got any credit for it because it was a Hirani movie and Vicky who was the side actor in the movie walked away with the most love of the public.Sanju as a character did not gel with people at all. People were more in love with Kamli than Sanju hence the outpour of love for Vicky. Sanju maybe a boxoffice success bit it is a very forgettable movie and considered as Hirani’s worst movie. It did nothing to increase Ranbir’s fan following or stardom. He is where he was before. Now the sidey actor Vicky is a mainstream leading man and his first mainstream movie is a 100 crores ++ movie.

      9. I want to add a clarification to my previous comment : Ranbir is actually a star and he is bigger than RKR, Vicky, Ayushman, Kartik and has a bigger fan following as well it is just that his fan following is not as big as Tiger, Varun or Ranveer is what I meant to say. Ranbir is a top A-list star for sure.

Also what happened to Ranbir with Sanju is what happened to RS after all the SLB movies. Just like Ranbir he never got credited for the box office success DP or SLB was given the most or all the credit. It is that unlike Sanju with each SLB movie Ranveer’s fan following, stardom increased and he earned a lot of goodwill of the audience. With Sanju Vicky was the one who got the most from the public not Ranbir.

      10. @Anon above

Try not to have your ideas endorsed publicly please. We have fans in India who forgive their favorite star’s heinous crimes. Please don’t become one of those who is ok with a star’s bad behavior only because it’s his personal life. At what point does this fawning stop? If you like an actor, that’s great. Commend him on his acting but dont be so ridiculously blind to how he is as a person. We have enough stars in the country. We need more good people for sure.

And I was not hyperbolic when I spoke about Alia. I can pick actors from all parts of India who could have done a better job than her in any of her movies. These actors only lack a famous parent. Ask people who struggle how much that hurts and then you will understand why equal opportunity is awesome.

    5. isnt Mumbai Mirror, along with pinkvilla considered mouthpiece of ranbir and kapoors when it comes to blind . maybe ayan has learned from raymond on how to leak such details only he would know remember last year’s blind about mouni and ayan

    6. I don’t really wish bad for others but this annoying Ranbir Alia linkup patchup just makes me wish this movie flops.
It’d have been fine if it wasn’t a triology.
Imagine it earns enough money and they go forward with the second and third one.
This Daal Chaawal naatak will go on for 10 more years. A 46 year old Ranbir stuck between Alia and some new 20 year old actress and a 60 year old KJo spreading gossip. Makes me wanna puke.

    7. I hope this movie flops….can’t stand the producers ,director or the actors of this movie….Ranbir Kapoor’s best lesson for his abominable behaviour is failure in career….nothing else seem to shake him as much…hope this goes the dhrona way…no redemption…

      1. The way she went after Shabana Azmi to settle her petty scores while the nation is grieving, I have officially lost all respect for her.

        1. I find it pretty annoying how people go after KR for the same petty crap that other people do. That’s the way Bollywood works. No one is anyone’s best friend. They all settle scores and act petty to get ahead. Not saying she’s right all the time but she (a) didn’t kill anybody like Salman or (b) involved herself with terrorists like Sanjay. She hasn’t acted like Akshay or Ajay. Yet she is crucified as if she’s committed some ugly crime. She’s just as big a hypocrite as any other btown actor but we deify killers and abusers in our country. God forbid an outsider speak up or gain success- let’s hang her. Don’t get me wrong, she should’ve kept her mouth shut this time and let her film success do all the talking. She needs to relax. But let’s hold everyone to the same high moral standard then, shall we?

          1. KR is many a time slightly grating in her execution but she speaks the truth….Shabana is a fake liberal…as far as KR is concerned especially so coz of her support for hrithiH n the behind the scene manipulation of Kangana for hrithHr that she tried….Azmi also tried to potray Kangana badly by saying that she refused to sign the petition for padmavat when in truth Kangana refused coz of Shabana Azmis involvement..kAngana made her support very vocal and spoke against karni Sena…so in reality it’s Azmi who has gone after Kangana….this time Kangana brought up Azmi…yes she has beef with her…but she also spoke the truth…why organise any events in Pakistan in the first place when it was already decided not to engage with them in any manner after uri …what’s the point if u go back after uri but decide not to go when the next attack happens …it’s hypocrisy…so didn’t uri matter enough ?

I wish Kangana could speak with more tact n diplomacy though since she can really achieve a lot more that way…but the hate for her on Bollywood is definitely coz she is not a Khan…she just has to speak her mind…

It’s laughable that Zoya thinks that kAngana has bollywood s support…look at the reception of gullyboy vs manikarnika by the bollywood elites… manikarnika is a good movie n deserves praise so does Kangana…

        1. Aura maybe, personality no.she is very bland, and as soon as she opens her mouth the accent is very vernacular.she can’t modulate voice and speech and diction nor has the swagger to carry of such a role.saw xxx it was pathetic.almost felt embarrassed to watch it with non Indian friends who kept laughing.

      2. Please do not bring Kangana. I have lost all my respect for her . Her nationalism slogan is scary to me and her attacking Azmi to settle her personal issues was disturbing!

      3. @universal I agree! For me deepi’s the only one with the right combo of physicality, aura and acting chops to pull it off. Since people can’t stand her desi accent (which I find really funny) she should play a desi patakha type action hero – like Leela but minus the ghaghra 😀 ab koi mere dil ki murad sun le…

        1. People clearly are obsessed with accent here. What you want everyone to speak English with US accent? Fir wo fake ho jayega 😂
Firangis here can’t think beyond english. Didnt Gal Gadot have an accent? She carries it off proudly. And DP does have that personality.

      4. @Alok –

“we deify killers and abusers in our country. God forbid an outsider speak up or gain success- let’s hang her”

Who’s “we”?! Have you seen anyone defend Ajay, Akshay or Salman here? Actors should be the last people to preach. Somebody pointed out on twitter she wore Pakistani labels after the Uri attacks.

Anyway, this is only my opinion and honestly dont care about her enough to get into an argument for her. I liked her, not anymore.

@londonthumakda – i will watch the shit out of that movie! 😀

      5. @NewGirl- Oh I understand what you were saying and I’m not one for internet warrior type arguments that so many crazy stans on online forums indulge in. I was making a general observation. Your opinion is yours, obviously we’re all entitled to one. Cheers.

      1. I know right? When I think maverick I think Mani, Vishal, he’ll even Imtiaz. Even they aren’t a patch on Hrishikesh Mukherjee or Gulzar, IMO. Tall praise comes easy these days. Mediocre at best.

    8. Varun is a tingu with a tapori voice he won’t never be a good superhero and Ranbir can play the role of wonder woman instead of a hero because he looks like a girl in natural pics

      1. Actually Varun is really talented and has shown a lot of range in a short period of time. He was excellent in Badlapur..lots of action there and October and carried the very mediocre Sui Dhaaga on his shoulders. Kalank should be very very interesting as he plays a negative ish role.

        1. He truly has not acting skills and always repeat the same role, acting in remakes everytime,,also he has not good looks and overact on and off screen, he is only a product of nepotism and media hype star kids.

    9. He tried masala action in besharam,he even gave an interview saying besharam is his Dabang, also snatched Bombay velvet.doesnt understand he is too feminine to carry off macho characters.even sanju, was a hit but compared to sanjay dutt raw rugged sex appeal he seemed like a drag queen.really waiting to see how he will carry off shamshera that too opposite sanjay dutt.brahmastra still sounds like an urbane action flick so might manage to carry off.

    10. RK is no way in that agile or strong looking action star mould. His usp is emotional songs and expressions. Till Bhramastra is out, we will have million more breakups and patchups of Aloo Sharbat.

    11. The film has action scenes, why did they cast Alia, she is always getting hurt on the set, plus, just by her tiny frame, she does not comes across like a action heroine! The question is, why she was cast by Kjo aunty, just to start an affair between RK and Aloo? Sound, like a plan on paper, did not work out in reality!

      1. The only reason they cast Alia is because it’s a trilogy and will take around 8-10 years by the last movie releases. All the current big name actresses would be in their 40s by then. Only Alia has age on her side. Also she is likely to charge less money to Kjo for the 3 movies as opposed to others who would obviously increase their remuneration across 8-10 years.

        1. All the top actresses will just hit their early 40s while ranbir will be 46 in 10 years, and will be more desirable with his hair plugs and fair complexion? This kind of sexist thinking makes me want this film to tank.
Who did ranbir piss off for all these blinds? Everyone has pr, especially the top stars so how is being a shitty boyfriend, insecure of his peers and now not versatile enough going to help him? Is kjo that mad at him?

          1. Agreed. I didn’t intend to diss the actresses. I just put forth what the producers/director must have been thinking while casting her. Also I hope this is finally the age where women can continue working like the men and not be forced to quit due to age/lack of offers/children. I finally want to see somebody balance family and career like they do in the west. My bet is on Deepika but she’ll probably have to produce half of them.

I don’t find Ranbir desirable even now. His habits have caught up with him and he looks way Haggard. SRK was 32-33 during kuch kuch hota hai and looked pretty convincing as a college student. So did Aamir and Salman when they were in their 30s and doing young love stories.

I loved Gully Boy & RS in it a lot but there’s no way he looked like a 21-22 year old college going kid. Not sure if it’s a result of excessive gymming/bulking up or other vices (smoking/drugs) which I am not sure of but all actors these days look way older than they are.

            1. The producer is kjo and he and ayan have said before those are the reasons they cast a younger heroine. I hope this chauvinist thinking stops and i know change is happening with the top ladies.
I like Ranbir as an actor but never found him very attractive. His appeal is more of a scion of the kapoor family and less about himself for most people.
As much as i love gully boy and how Ranveer nailed it, he definitely did not look 22! It probably is the yoyo dieting and working out. His performance let me overlook it but his days of playing a college boy are gone.

    12. Ayan and Ranbir are good at movies that explores human emotion and coming of age movies. Action hero is a very tough genre to crack. Maybe they are trying to change RK’s image. RK is neither built nor looks like a super hero.Hopefully they surprise us.
