Bollywood Blind Item – January 2019 – 17

You know how when the victims came out with their stories during the #MeToo movement, some people were like, “Why is she complaining online? Go file a police report!”

Well, some victims did do this. They filed police reports and some even took the case to court. So far, no one has received any justice. What is the point then? All they get in return is people threatening them or calling them liars.

We actually know this senior journalist on Twitter, who retweeted a post that called Tanushree Dutta a scam, liar and cheater because she went back to the states. Isn’t this what Tanu said she would do? Didn’t she say she was back in India for a small vacay and that she was returning soon. She never intended to start this movement. So, imagine this female journalist, how her mindset works that she thinks Tanu did this all for attention? On top of that, that post stated that since Tanu couldn’t generate any interesting offers from Bollywood, she is leaving.

It is hard to understand this because these are women going against women, as in there is no empathy involved here. It’s not like these women were there, they were not. It’s not like they personally know the victims either, they don’t!

See that lady from ‘Scared Games’ who came out in defence of Nawazuddin when his co-star accused him of fabricating lies. Bear in mind that two women came out to call him a compulsive liar. Actually, it’s a psychotic liar because he creates a sad background, makes himself out to be miserable just to manipulate these women to sleep with him. Imagine how messed up his brain is that he thought he could make up his own version of 50 Shades of Grey using his victims’ real name! So when that story came out, his co-star from ‘Sacred Games’, the one who plays a transvestite, came out in his support and called the victim’s story a “relationship gone sour”.

Did she not read that there was no relationship to begin with and that Nawaz was trying to sleep with this girl? We are guessing, No. To think that this lady herself came out with her story during the #MeToo movement and when someone else tells her story, she is lying. It doesn’t make sense. These women or the men who are coming out in defence of these accused men WERE NOT there when the incident happened. If you are not there, how could you know that the accused is innocent?

    Image result for think gifs

Like in Rajkumar Hirani’s case, how many people have come out in his defence? Were they there when that incident happened? When he did something inappropriate to his victim? No, they were not! So what gives them the right to say that the girl is lying? A man, who acts decent with others, does not mean that he is a saint or an angel. It is baffling how some people think they have the right to dismiss a victim’s story and call her or him a liar!

The below blind item comes from Rajeev Masand. It is about a certain situation that baffled us completely. You see, there was a police complaint filed and within a few houirs the complaint was withdrawn. Before it was withdrawn, as soon as the victim filed, the media was notified and this news spread like wildfire. Then, suddenly she wrote a letter to the police stating that she overacted or something and that she would like to withdraw her complaint. Well, you know what this means right? She has been threatened and possibly been paid to stay quiet.

So how much clout does this man have? It’s clear that he is powerful enough to get the police to do things. You know what was funny? His wife coming out to his defence! Her statement was hilarious. As hilarious as these small videos that her husband lets her make. Well, hope it’s worth it for her. Since she almost compared him to a God, she should be careful. Just sayin’! ‘Cause you know, sometimes God is really watching!

Speaking of the wife, we have seen her social media and it’s full of I-love-myself-too-much videos and pics. Not that it’s a bad thing, but it’s obnoxious and screams narscistic. There was this video that had her and her son and husband dancing in celebration of Holi. In that video, he tries to hold her to dance with her and she in a smiling way appeared to be repulsive by that and either pushed him or got away from him. That moment stayed with us, don’t know why. Maybe because she appeared to be disgusted by him and smartly tried to not act that way when she knew the cameras were on her. She knows how bad her husband has been, but what to do? She likes staying in that big bungalow of theirs and going for unlimited holidays overseas without her husband! Plus, he lets her use his company’s money to produce and direct as many films and videos as possible. It can also be that he is supporting her family, which is usually the case if the husband is loaded. Like Mr. CreepyBones and Mr. CreepyEyes do for their wives’ family.

Check out the blind item from Open Magazine. At least, Rajeev is talking about. Police report or not, the world should know who these creeps are!

    When Roles Serve as Rewards

In film circles this top studio boss is well known for his indecent proposals to acting aspirants. It’s one of Bollywood’s worst-kept secrets. So no one in the industry was surprised when the bigwig producer was outed at the peak of the MeToo wave recently. At least two women pointed fingers at him.

He’s so powerful he managed to drown out their voices in a barrage of testimonials: from his wife who claimed he was the paragon of virtue, and from select women he’s worked with vouching for his professionalism and decency. His accusers might have been silenced, but no one in Bollywood was fooled.

Insiders are saying he’s now returned the favour to a pretty young starlet who defended him. She’s landed a significant role in a movie he’s producing with an A-list male star in the lead. Such a cynical view of things! But most filmwaalas point out this is the sort of top-tier project she wouldn’t be considered for, given her talent and star-wattage—or lack of both. More troubling, of course, is how easily the producer got away. Will some things ever change?

The complaint against Bhushan Kumar has been retracted.

A woman filed a sexual harassment complaint against T-Series owner Bhushan Kumar at a local police station, only to retract it hours later, police said Thursday. Bhushan Kumar rubbished the allegations. In a letter to the senior police inspector at the Oshiwara police station, where she had filed the complaint Wednesday, the woman said she had approached the police against Bhushan Kumar ‘out of frustration and depression’ and that her allegations against him were ‘malicious’.

“I had no such intention to malign his reputation and shall not make any false statement and allegation against him in future,” her letter read. The original complaint against Bhushan Kumar which she submitted at the police station on Wednesday was hand-written, while Thursday’s letter informing that she was withdrawing the complaint was neatly typed, a police official said.

The woman had on Wednesday claimed that Bhushan Kumar sexually exploited her under the pretext of helping her to get work in his company, a senior police official said. Bhushan Kumar told PTI that the charges against him were ‘bogus’. The woman also asked Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety producer and Bhushan Kumar’s uncle Krishan Kumar to withdraw an extortion complaint he filed against her at the Amboli police station in suburban Mumbai on January 14.

A statement by T-Series said Krishan Kumar had filed a complaint against the woman at Amboli police station as she was “for quite a while” threatening him to extort money from him. The woman had threatened Krishan Kumar that if she did not get the money, she will file a false complaint of sexual assault against him and also drag his nephew Bhushan Kumar in it, the statement said.

Last year, an anonymous Twitter user had accused Kumar of propositioning her on the pretext of signing a three-movie contract with his production house. She had detailed how Bhushan Kumar wanted to sign her for a three-film deal and make her a superstar as he saw a lot of ‘potential’ in her.

Bhushan Kumar had denied the allegations, saying the tweet was used as a tool to malign his reputation.

      1. @Lucy – agree with every word you said. Saw it yesterday, and yes it has some problems here and there but there is no doubt this is a good movie that everyone should see and will leave an impact on you.

    1. Whoa that is insane I can’t believe Sonam Bajwa is in this movie, hundred percent because of other reasons. It’s absolutely true that all of these people are horrible, it’s a known thing and Bollywood is truly a dirty world. It doesn’t matter who you are if you’re a star kid or if you’re a newcomer, you have to put out for someone – whether it’s your boyfriend for protection like Nicole Kidman and Deepika did (although all knows Deepika is a coke addict and does a lot more with her directors as well). I don’t understand why other women feel the need to get involved to protect a man when they weren’t even there. Just keep your mouths shut! it’s all for favors that they speak, you scratch my back and I scratch yours type of thing

      1. Manikarnika is out and its not the disaster KJO types wanted. Most of the people coming out of the theaters are raving about the film, and while it may have some problems, overall there is no denying that Kangana has made a good film.

Yet all I see all over websites are a bunch of comments which sound like they’re all written by the same person trying to convince people otherwise… why are they so scared of her succeeding?

        1. Karan johar wanted kangana to disappear from Bollywood, she is a threat to alia.he might have thought that it would be easy to wipe her out with manikarnika failure as kangana doesn’t really have a good reputation.but I saw the film, and the audience reaction here in Melbourne and it was a jam packed theater.the last time I saw whistles and claps and standing ovation was for tiger Zinda hai.nor even for padmaaavat.if the reaction everywhere is the same I am sure it will at least be a hit,150-170 should be easy.and the public here didn’t care about her off screen persona and appreciated the film.usually don’t get to see that sort of reaction here.

PS,I won’t spoil the film but go and watch it everyone.there are script and vfx problems with the film, but kangana more than makes up for it.you will have goosebumps and a lump in the throat.usually doesn’t happen with Hindi films, but this one has more than five six scenes where you just feel things.the last time I felt like this for a Hindi film was rang de basanti.

          1. PS,no standing ovation for tiger.only whistles and claps,I meant standing ovation for manikarnika.but it felt like an Indian theater single screen.thats a first.

      2. Manikarnika is running to packed theatre in pune. Even uri is going strong. Kangana has acted well.

I think krish was expecting a flop and unfortunately for him kangana is getting praised. He may be jealous. When there was controversy wrt director credits, krish didn’t speak and now he is giving interviews after interviews speaking negatively of her. He wasn’t expecting this response after all the negative controversy.

        1. I’m kangana fan but I don’t think Krish is insecure or jealous..go and watch his movies in Telugu..he made movies with content not regular crap. He is just saying she just cut many character’s length and distorted history just to focus on her character..she might have made a great movie but krish is no less..watch his movies vedham, gamyam and kanche.. you will know what I am talking about.. especially Kanche is a gem with not even 20 cr budget..it’s about world war 2.. being said all these I’m not trying to support one..just stating the facts

          1. It’s not about insecurity, but about jealousy. Krish has been a wonderful director,no doubt. But at this point in time, his big Telugu movie on NTR flopped. Plus,he was expecting Manikarnika to flop because of Kangana’s intervention. He thought Kangana would do a terrible job as a director and the movie will flop by itself. But the calculation misfired. He is giving interviews to say he did most of the job and Kangana did only 20-30%. It looks like after alienating from the film,he wants the credit now. When there was huge controversy regarding his ouster and director replacement, the producers came to kangana’s defence and Kangana herself said she will keep the Krish’s name in credits. He was mum then. Now he is giving interviews after the release.

I think he deserves the credit for Manikarnika. But he should promoted the film by talking positively about it instead of all the blame game. The movie needs good promotion. He is credited with direction. No one can rob his credits. He should know that.

        2. You also have to consider that the film for which he left manikarnika middway, ntr biopic was a disaster.and he is yet to come out with the second half which might be a disaster as well.would he have given the same interview if his other film was a big big hit.?it was supposed to clash with manikarnika, his own film.the first films disaster made the makers push the second halfs release.to me it looks like he wants credit now that the film has received some acclaim.had manikarnika been a disaster,Krish would have conveniently said he made a masterpiece and kangana hijacked it and made a mess of it.

Not defending kangana, but I want to believe vijendra prasad.his interview sounded like Krish didn’t want to continue and kangana had to take over to save a sinking ship.and she did a bloody good job of it.

Had an actor saved their film like this they would be praised to the skies.

          1. Very convenient for Krish to only speak up now…he waited to see how the film turned out…that’s a red flag right there…all the grievances that he had existed even before the film’s release….why did he wait it out…now he says that he is glad that Kangana didn’t spoil the film much…lol….she is the biggest strength of the movie…no praise for her acting either from him…which heroine or hero has taken over a sinking film with overwelhming risks with so much responsibility and is backed by so much talent in Bollywood ?….it’s truly a lesson in sexism to watch so many isolate one woman and not give her due credit…I salute the producers of the movie for standing by Kangana….if they trusted krish’s vision he would have got to direct the whole movie… that didn’t happen… something he omits talking about….

      3. How would all you Kangana supporters feel and behave if your work was discredited ? Or you were not given the due credit? Stop defending a wrong, in fact if it had been done earlier she would not have reached to this level.

Why should he praise Kangana? Would you praise someone who has wronged you?

      4. I made it clear I am no kangana supporter,I want to believe vijendra prasad.and like in the other post,I’ll comment the same.how was it possible for a flop actress like kangana to hijack a project, and throw out the director and replace a main character with 160 minutes footage.in krish own words the movie was completed along with dubbing by all artists.so kangana could not have held the film to ransom.it would have been possible if she had completed 90-95% and said she won’t shoot if things didn’t go her way.then the makers would have been forced to do her bidding.

But the film was completed, she went to shoot another one and tell me how is it posibble for her to tell she wants things her way.the only thing she could have said she won’t dub or promote, they could have got a dubbing artist and released the film anyways.why give kangana 45 crores more money to shoot, when she didn’t have any experience.either the producers are in love with her or complete fools to give that amou of money in the hands of an inexperienced director.

I saw the film and it makes sense why they had a difference of opinion.frish perhaps made a masterpiece, but a film on the rebellion of 1857 and not manikarnika.the character krish said dies, doesn’t die in the film until the end.other actors have sufficient screen space,as in tatya tope nana saheb etc.they are important figures but deserve a biopic of their own.like in manga pander Jhansi ki rani and nana saheb were secondary characters.in manikarnika other leaders needed to be secondary characters and not main.

I believe this is the reason the producers and writer sided with kangana.its impossible for kangana to have any sort of power over the producers and writer of vijendra prasad stature.she has had 5 flops in a row and is a woman.when the supposed queen of Bollywood, deepika couldn’t get her role increased in padmavat how is it possible for kangana to hijack such a big film and throw out directors and other actors unless the producers wanted the same thing?

As for the credits, the producer gave an interview saying kangana shot 70%,the new dop said they shot 50%.everyone has a version of their own.i just saw the deleted scene of Sony sold wrestling and I personally feel there is no need to show a secondary characters machismo in a film about lakhmi bai.its not supporting kangana.its merely a case of people disagreeing on how the film should be and the people who paid for it,ie the producers decided that they need to go with kangana decision.

It’s clear kangana had her way because the producers writer and prasoon joshi etc sided with her.now whether that’s a good or bad thing is up for debate.personal opinion is the film needs to be what the producers want, they are the ones paying for it,

    2. I have said this before and I will say this again. You want to do your bit for #metoo? Stop watching their movies, television shows etc. Stop putting money in their pockets. Stop voting for politicians who support them. A depleted bank account has more effect than just words.

      1. The thing is tho where do you stop? Do you also stop watching movies of people who associate freely with those accused of misconduct? Aish, Madhuri and Salman just rocked up to Subhash Ghai’s party. Varun is shooting a film produced by Bhushan Kumar. The Moranis produced Star Screen Awards where everyone from Vicky to Kat to Alia performed on stage. And these are just men who have had official complaints filed…then we have those who are gossiped about in blind items..

@Helen I know this is no help but you are not alone. I knew two girls – one in school, the other in college – who were raped by male relatives as children and in both cases even tho they eventually found the courage to tell their parents, the reaction was awkward disbelief and denial. And I remember thinking if I know two girls, does everybody know someone, is that how bad the state of our society is?

    3. You know the whole story about Neha Kakkar being in depression because she caught her ex Himansh Kohli with someone?

That someone is rumored to be Divya Khosla Kumar, who was the one who actually encouraged and introduced Himansh and Neha.

If it’s true, then both wife and husband are creeps. But what can you expect from the Bhushan family. Did you know that Krishan Kumar was once implicated in his brother Gulshan Kumar’s murder? Also, how many artists have they (T-Series) screwed over by not providing royalties for their work?

      1. Also gulshan Kumar was the one who introduced piracy in the music industry, that’s why perhaps no one was sad when he was gunned down.but police had to do their enquiry, murder is a murder.but technically it was a robinhood type of story, people harassed by someone in power went to the ganglords to get him murdered.

      2. Also not to forget, his name was linked to Anuradha paudwal, which might be one of the factor that led to his murder

    4. @Helen v sorry to hear your story – wish you courage and strength. If one day u feel the time is right do expose this terrible person. He may be doing the same to other young girls

    5. My cousin is a stage director, he is mostly known to be guy with great sense of humor, very cool minded and gentle. But if I tell you that he raped me when I was a teenager, you will not believe it. Even I didn’t know when he told he will be “showing the studio he works” to me “get me a front desk job after I finish school”. No one believes me in my family. I’m a divorced single mother n he is happily living with 2 kids and a wife. I just have made peace because I know I’m not the one who wronged and I don’t want any self pity. But it’s not easy to be in such position. You must be really brave to take such stand, fighting all the inner demon and self doubts. More power to all such women.

      1. I am sorry to hear about that. More power to you. You are really brave to overcome that. Wish you happiness.

      2. More power to you, Helen. That vile and disgusting piece of crap is the one who is going to pay for what he did, even if it’s not in this world. Stay strong.

      3. Helen you are a courageous women. Someday your story will be heard and trust me the person who did violence will have to pay for his crimes. May be the institutions setup by men have failed you but nature never lets anybody escape from its justice. I hope and pray you will find peace and success in everything you undertake.

    6. It is really wrong of someone to harass someone in first place, as a human being it is natural for him to take steps to save himself, but why did he need to harass someone in first place, it is wrong , totally wrong !!!! Poor girl, may she and other girls get justice and get freed of all these miseri they face because of these deeds of certain people.
