Bollywood Blind Item – January 2020 – 4

There have been so many blind items about this remake that was supposed to happen, but didn’t. But this particular blind item sheds some light on what happened behind the scenes.

As you probably heard of it, the director who was supposed to work on this project had secure her lead actor and actress. But then, the producer and her had some issues with getting the copyrights of doing the remake.

After that, there were stories doing the rounds that both her chosen actor and actress left the project. The actor was unhappy with the scrip and soon after, news spread that the producer too was not happy with the script.

As it turned out, both producer and director didn’t get the rights to remake this film so she had no choice but to make it into her own. Imagine that?!

But seriously, the original producer of the film had every right to demand that he co-produces the film. After all, the producer and his family is not really happening these days so this remake could have put them back on the map!

It’s so unprofessional for the producer and director to spread rumours about the original producer asking a lot of money when that wasn’t the case at all!

Guess that’s what they do when they have nothing else to do!

BLOCKBUSTER filmmaker’s multi-starrer remake SHELVED as no top hero wants to play main lead

The movie was touted to be the biggest announcement of 2020 boasting of a star cast with a super successful superstar and a top actress.

It’s a film that has been brewing over the last year or so. A remake of a yesteryear hit starring a senior actor, the filmmaker was trying to procure the rights of the movie for his production house. The movie was to be directed by a well-known director. But after a top action hero walked out of the movie citing script issues, and other actors turned it down, the makers too have lost interest and decided to shelve the film.

The movie was touted to be the biggest announcement of 2020 boasting of a star cast with a super successful superstar and a top actress. A fresh pair (dream cast), a blockbuster filmmaker and a super hit director – what more could anybody ask for? Yet there was a catch.

The person who held the rights of the earlier movie had a condition – he wanted to be a co-producer. But the filmmaker flatly rejected the proposal. Stories of the rights holder asking for a whopping amount of money started doing the rounds but those were never true.

As the negotiations faded and there seemed to be a standoff between the filmmaker and the rights holder, the filmmaker’s director and he approached one of Bollywood’s top stars. The actor was excited. Who wouldn’t be? A reputed banner and director, top actress as his co-star and an exciting script which had him portraying extreme shades.

Everything seemed fine and an announcement was kept ready – till the actor came to know that the role he was dreaming about was no longer in the pipeline. The revised script looked flat so he told the makers to come back with a new draft. But in his mind, he had figured out that he wouldn’t do it. The actress, too, lost interest when she realised her male co-star had walked out.

The makers approached a couple of other top actors, but they weren’t interested as they knew what had happened with the project. A top actor, who is very close to the filmmaker, has kept him on hold saying he is busy with his next release. But insiders say that he is not fond of remakes, so he won’t do it.

Now, the latest news is that the filmmaker and the studio associated with it, have lost interest and decided to shelve the project. While the movie is a multi-starrer, the other actors don’t have big roles to perform.

Non-star actors can be roped in for those roles because of the filmmaker and his director’s goodwill with the film industry. The main role needs a huge star. But if there is no main lead – can such a big movie happen?

    1. Its simple , Deepika lost right wing audience long ago….rather she never had. So she set out to please Left wing , since Right wing long ago decided to watch Tanhaji since both are releasing on the same day. So her PR is trending #supportdeepika .

So she will blame right wing if the movie flops and become a champion of human rights if the movie works. We know how much empathy she had for real acid victims like Rangoli , who is her collegue’s sister. Spare us the BS .

      1. I dont agree with Admin on this one tbh i dont find anything wrong in Caa.Dp shouldnt have gone there. And JNU students werent right on this one. DP’s lack of intelligence came out in limelight

      2. Whose PR are you? how do you know Deepika doesn’t have sympathy for acid victims? Why drag that mental case Rangoli? Did she supported Deepika ever? where were she when Karni sena threatening Deepika? Isnt she an outsider and a woman? Rangoli and her sister never missed a chance to badmouth Deepika and her movies. Rangoli abused her and retweeted mean memes about Deepika and Padmavat during Manikarinika release. As far as her colleague is concerned , we all know how she uses her PR to defame Deepika out of hate and lied about being the first choice of Beyond the clouds and being the highest paid which make people hate Deepika. Infact , no sane soul will empathize with a woman like Rangoli because is negative and hates everyone.

Its her fans who are trending #supportdeepika. Don’t like her its your choice but don’t assume things and hate a successful and self made woman .

        1. im not anyones PR
I couldnt care any less about Deepikas well timed sympathy or rather display of empathy for student leaders. And dont play the ” hate a woman card”. Im entitled to my opinions ( or do you think thats only reserved for the leftists)
I personally think DP had no business to interfere in the CAA scheme of things ( she isnt savvy or very intelligent). If you are saying its her right to do so, so be it- let her face the repurcussions. Why play the victim card when people react to her choice of actions. of course the common public is entitled to it as well.

          1. Where is she playing a victim card? she is not even talking about anything and living life. We all know who plays a victim and a woman card all the time, I just ask a simple question regarding having no sympathy for acid victims or Rangoli. Where did I mention JNU or CAA?

          2. Lastly , I Didn’t even replied to you at all. I even didn’t support or mention Deepika’s visit to JNU or her supporting anyone. Just asked why she should support Rangoli when she wronged and abuse Deepika every time. Or are you and this Purely PR are the same people?

        2. Also, you dont lecture me on respecting woman..its pretty evident that you used “mental case” as an adjective for another woman.
or you think only people who subscribe to your way of thinking is to be respected?

          1. Because that woman herself proving it by her insane tweets and foul language every time , You got mad because I asked you some valid questions and demand evidence of your accusation that Deepika has no empathy for acid attack victims and Rangoli.
Kangana fans never respected women and then demand people to respect women. You played a hate woman card and accuse Deepika for not supporting Rangoli. I know I asked some hard hitting questions.

    2. I will start taking Bollywood seriously on social/polotical issues when they would speak against Salman in favour of footpath victims and Sanja dutt for having links with underworld. Till then, they are useless bunch of people as far as social issues are concerned

    3. They want to copy someone else’s idea or story but yet unable to accept it, but instead create rumors, thats very sad. They should have just worked together to make it work.

    4. Hi @Admin

Can you do a piece on Deepika’s support/PR for JNU students? Would love to know your unbiased opinion.

      1. Waiting to see how far the government will go on this. Its extremely supporting that Bollywood personalities have stood up to fight this. The rest are all quiet, probably scared to say anything due to their proximity or the PM.

      2. We don’t think this was PR. The stakes are higher for DP and soon after she went there was this rumour circling around about her film. Supposedly this rumour was spread by the government’s people. She is already facing the backlash for attending. There’s no way this is PR. The government does work fast, who knew!

        1. I do not agree on this. Why did not she go to Jamia Milla during the police brutality?Buying a Delhi ticket is nothing for her. She could have flown and shown her support.Because she had nothing releasing in 2 days at that time. She is not politically ( or intellectually) sound.Do not get me wrong .She is streetsmart. In 2008 , she was speaking of extending her support to Rahul Gandhi and the work that he is doing for the country which is nothing but a big zero. Not that this govt. has achieved anything.Equally useless.Anyways I did not expect an unbiased opinion from you. I think the reddit threads are true when those say you are a DPRS PR sponsored website. Also, I saw your tweet. A tad bit disappointed though.

          1. She was already in Delhi right? She didn’t take a trip there like the other Bollywood personalities. Whatever her goal or reason was, that’s on her. She went, stood for a few mins and her presence made both a positive and negative impact.

There are people there fighting for what they believe in for weeks. Bollywood personalities are there to highlight the issue further.

Now what about the other stars? Where are they? They won’t even turn up for show because they can’t! No special private plane this time to bring them all to the capital for this cause. That’s the way things work.

            1. @Admin Please do not dismiss the argument. A ticket to Delhi will not cost her much. Why she did not buy it earlier ? JNU’s first protest against fee hike publicly occurred 70 days back. There was lathi charge on Aishe Ghosh(JNUSU President). Where was Deepika? There is no difference between Khiladi Kumar and her. He does patriotic films for publicity and she does public drama for publicity . Remember her open letter to Times of Indiacampaign. Not that I am a big fan of TOI’s reporting. My only diss is : she is a huge star;she had/has a winner ( inthe form of a movie) on her hand. She does not need to extract publicity out of those poor protesting students. Just go to youtube and watch some of the heart wrenching stories of the victims in the violence ( both right wing and left wing). Just did not expect this from her.

PS: BTW are you DPRS paid PR as reddit threads claim? Just wondering. But I still like all your BI and analysis.

              1. Why are you only focused on Deepika? What could she have done? Stop the fight? There are so many people involved in this, so many people hanging on by a thread and so many more risking their lives to get justice and all you care about is why Deepika did not go earlier? What could she have done? Did you do anything? Because if you did, you would understand how big this is and how important it is for the people fighting for this. And yet, you are focused on Deepika.

We have friends there on the spot, it’s getting worrying as the time goes by and the government does nothing!

*You can believe what you want, it’s a free world. We are tired of justifying someone’s stupid imagination (not you). All this started because we didn’t share that thing they did with the airport usher. Good thing since it was not true, anyway!

              2. @Admin I am not focused not on her .I know she cannot change the situation. But once she visited the entire focus shifted on her. Core issues like JNU fee hike(debatable), JNU VC’s dangerous silence were sidelined and she hogged headlines ;for two days since her visit news channels focused on her presence only and Spice Media ( I do not recall the exact name) splashed those pics everywhere. Yeh PR nahin hai toh aur kya hai? Today if Chappak’s director Meghna Gulzar( very forthcoming about her political views is the past as well) visited, I would not question this. I am not asking Deepika to express her political acumen ( which I think is pretty much zero) but do not cash on any protest and become the face of a student’s rally for the sake for selling few more movie tickets. She is huge movie star.I think her name is sufficient enough to draw movie goers to theatres. What I did ? Just participated in a peace protest in my school.Would love to do more though.

              3. Why should they? Sorry to burst your bubble. Bollywood or any famous people should take a stand only when they know what they are talking about. Most of these out-of-work actors (Dia Mirza, Swara Bhaskar,Anurag Kashyap etc), says nonsense, contradicts themselves and ends up being butt of joke.

This lady is not politically savvy or an intellectual. She is returning favor to leftist, who supported her earlier.

          2. NCP has contacts with anti nationals from Mumbai real estate and they all together rule Bollywood. If this is the case these things will further continue but people should condemn and should not encourage such stars and their movies. Atleast this is what I think is happening. Let’s see what happens to this movie as many are not happy with this incidence

            1. Yea …who is kidding here ? Not a single person in bollywood is a stand up person. They support or oppose a political party depending on the benefits they have or not with them.

In other news “Tanhaji” movie is getting good reviews , wonder if it will impact Chapakk.

          3. @Admin, have to say I was gobsmacked to see the video from JNU. the stakes are high for her – first movie in two years, first home production, its hard enough being a 34-year old now-married actress in Bollywood… I can’t imagine some of the brands she endorses are going to be very happy about this for e.g. the Ambanis who are close to the govt… and JNU is about as polarising an institution as it gets in India.

Of course we shouldn’t make too much of it, lots of ordinary people with none of her wealth and privilege are taking personal/professional risks by speaking out.

The only thing I can think of is, it felt like she wanted to say more during the threats/violence ahead of Padmaavat but held back because the film producers needed to recoup a massive budget, here the financial stakes for this film at least are lower and some of it is her money on the line.

Anyway, can’t wait to see Chhapaak …

            1. Well, this proves how much this nation really does value and respect women! Out of all the actors there, they are picking on a known actress. How pathetic! It’s not easy for these stars to speak out, politicians and their goons never take things gracefully. Remember when they sent people to burn stuffs in front of SRK’s house because of something he said? Who was it that sent this? Amar Singh, probably. 😏

              1. So you believe SRK is some kind of ‘doodh ka dhula hua’, come on everyone knows his relation with Dawood or his sympathy for Pakistan

            2. @ADMIN Yes we as nation has become intolerant. Do we actually live in a democratic society? People especially female fans of Katrina are bashing Deepika left , right and center. They are rejoicing her movie failure (though she got positive review for her performance and Uttarakhand announced pension for acid attacks survivors ) and trolling her in the most terrible way. Katrina fans have totally forget that her movie is coming and they have already enraged Deepika fans. They will troll Katrina during and after her movie release. Then they will act like saints and a cry baby claiming that Deepika’s fans are jealous and worst.

One thing is clear Sooryavanshi will be a hit because of AKSHAY KUMAR. He has 4 hits in a row last year.

Same people were bashing Bollywood for keep mum about this important issue and calling them cowards. At least Deepika has guts to do what she wants to (no idea if it was a PR stunt or a neutral act) still she risks her career and image.

We as a nation is failing badly. This MCSHER is nothing but someone’s PR to interrogate like this.

Now its time that people should ignore everything , work , eat and sleep. Let the country burn , people die and making the country a war like place thus providing the enemies chance to bash us.
