News that this filmmaker is planning to remake a popular film in the 80s is apparently true! We thought it was just a rumour, but now it’s true.
But, here’s the deal. The rights to remake this film has already been sold to someone else, who is upset that this filmmaker has been going around saying she is doing this remake.
Apparently, they sent her two notices because of that. Rumour also has it that the filmmaker has asked her favourite actor to work with to be in this film. But the blind item is saying a different story.
There are two actors, who have been approached. One is an actor, who gets 100 crore film without breaking a sweat, while the other one is a talented actor, who has not been seen in a film for a while now.
While it’s not that hard to figure out who the latter is, it’s a bit confusing who they are referring to as the actor, who gets 100 crore film?! Is it everyone’s brother or is it India’s loyal son? The latter is not on good terms with this filmmaker since they both made that ridiculous (but a little funny) film and it bombed badly. Wait, that wasn’t it! The actor went on to work in said filmmaker’s husband’s film and that too tanked so bad that all relationships that existed between them broke!
The filmmaker went back to her favourite and the rest was history! So, it can’t be this actor that she approached.
It could be everyone’s brother aka Bollywood’s Ultimate Godfather since they are quite close to each other. But then again, he is too busy pleasing his family members by acting in their respective production houses so her turn might not come too soon.
The media is reporting that her favourite is quite interested in doing this film, which seems ridiculous but then again he has been having this knack of being in ridiculous films lately, so who knows?!
Check out the blind item from Mumbai Mirror.
Bollywood Blind Item
A feisty filmmaker has just announced a fabulous film — a remake of a remake maybe, but one that has blockbuster written all over it. We wonder then, why the filmmaker is having trouble casting a lead actor.
We hear one Rs 100-crore guarantor has been asked, as also the hugely talented superstar who we have only seen in controversies of late and not in a film. Could it be a weak script? Or an ensemble role? Or perhaps the filmmaker’s motormouth?
OSOP Guesses
Filmmaker: Farah Khan
Remake: Satte Pe Satta
Guarantor: Akshay Kumar or Salman Khan
Superstar: Hrithik Roshan
Eight years ago, Sanjay Dutt, along with the now-defunct Ashtavinayak Productions had planned to remake the iconic Amitabh Bachchan-Hema Malini starrer, with Dutt essaying Bachchan’s character. “Soham Shah of Kaal and Luck fame (not to be confused with the actor from Ship of Theseus, Sohum Shah) was to direct the remake with Dutt. He still owns partial rights of the film.
An insider told us, “Farah has bounced off the script to Shah Rukh and he is interested in it. The two share a great working relationship and have delivered hits like Main Hoon Naa and Happy New Year. He wants to make a strong comeback and nothing better than a masala entertainer. She has also spoken about the film to Katrina Kaif. Since she is busy with Bharat promotions, she will chat about it in detail later. So, if everything works out well then we will see Shah Rukh Khan – Katrina in the film.”
This woman should stop making films…they are mind numbing and boring. She can’t bank on SRK anymore and no one cares about item numbers which she specializes in!
Farah is not a good director. Her every film expect main hoon na and oso are flops. Public wants a good and a strong script with great performances.
Days are gone when audience go to the cinema to watch a crap and senseless movies of their favour actors and superstars.
Making a remake of a hit classic is a bad idea. Today’s filmmakers has already ruined classic hit songs by remixing them.
So please, dont ruined old films. Come up with some good and original stories.
