With the lockdown extending, Bollywood is still trying to figure out how to move forward. While some productions, actually just a few, have gone ahead and tested the grounds for shooting, many others are still preferring to sit idle and wait until things calm down.
Since most small productions have gone ahead and signed an OTT-release date for their projects, the bigger production houses are waiting for theaters to resume business so their movies can get the usual theater audience. But the thing is, things won’t be the same again so…There’s no way cinemas will open with the same seating arrangements, which means less money for all those involved.
So this star, like many others, is opting to release his film on the big screen. As far as we know, his film isn’t complete yet. He and his team are waiting for the lockdown to be over so they can resume shooting. For his case, it’s not really a question of not wanting to release the film online, it’s most likely a case of the film needed a lot of patchwork on top of the portions they are not done shooting. He probably didn’t want to admit that to whoever approached him with that suggestion.

EVEN though some of the best cinema is now on streamers, several stars and producers are fighting the shift to online releases. Among these is a topliner whose latest release has been halted due to the lockdown. He has been offered a whopping Rs 250 crore by the streamer, but he has refused. He’s a larger-than-life star he says, not fit for a screen that fits in the palm of your hand.
