Bollywood Blind Item – May 2019 – 2

The second blind item for today comes is about the recent disaster and one of the stars in it. As you may know or may have read, this actor is known for having made the right choices when it came to his choice of films…Until his first huge disaster came along.

Now think that as you may. It could be his management made the media and the public believe of his clean run because he has had films that didn’t really make it as a hit, just enough to earn back their money but then again these were low-budget films.

So his last film was no small-budget project, it was huge. All eyes were on it. The film was also produced by one of his frequent producers with whom he has given a 100-crore film. There are other projects planned with the same producer because naturally, this actor’s stars were shinning.

Who would have thought this huge film this actor did was going to flop? Everyone!

But back then, when he signed it, he probably didn’t think it would end up this way.

So now, after the film released and disappointed everyone, the producer of his next film is having second thoughts.

Honestly, the new project sounded ridiculous anyway but it will be interesting to see how they recreate this project to adapt it to today’s times and generation.

It will be interesting to see how things go on for star kids now. The deck of cards is starting to fall now so it will be interesting to see what will happen next.

For now, check out the blind item below from PinkVilla.

    Bollywood Blind Item

    Bollywood Blind Item – May 2019 – 2

This hot young actor’s next movie announcement on hold as studios renegotiate the deal

He is hot, a youth icon and a highly talented actor but is having his fair share of bad luck at the BO while his contemporaries are rocking it.

Fortunes of stars are made at the box-office every Friday and this young, top star is realising that today. One day, he was the toast of Bollywood and filmmakers were waiting in queues to sign him but today the tables are turning.

A remake of a comedy which was to be announced recently took a hit when the lead hero’s latest big-budget extravaganza crashed at the box-office and left the comedy makers shocked as the hero suffered his blues.

He is hot, a youth icon and a highly talented actor but is having his fair share of bad luck at the BO while his contemporaries are rocking it. The original movie starred another comedy actor and was a big hit of those times.

Everything was ready – the star’s next release would happen, and as it was touted to be a blockbuster, the star and the production house would announce the project on a special day.

Months had gone into planning the grand event and even the poster had been made with the star and a young actress (belonging to a film family), but suddenly everything had to be cancelled! The big budget drama released and failed to get the cash registers ringing.

The announcement was made but with a whimper – on just social media. Negotiations that were on with top studios for a huge price of the remake comedy were now being renegotiated for a much lesser price. Apparently, till now a studio is not yet on board though talks are on with a major one and if that happens, the movie will be announced this month.

Last heard, the star, who took off on a holiday to get over his blues, and who has had a series of flops is now looking at his sugar daddy to resurrect his flagging career in his next musical extravaganza to bail him out. Buzz is that the comedy flick, which may be announced this month, is now on hold till they get a proper studio on board.

The career of the two-film-old newbie actress too is on hold with the comedy flick as she was waiting for the announcement and film to roll and doesn’t have any other films on hand, at the moment.

Naturally, she is disappointed too as this would have been her first comedy movie but there’s not much she can do till the makers announce their project.

    1. with a good director maybe Varun can control is overaction…Badlapur movie made me think of him this way.

But , yes if there is market for Judwaa and coolie 1 movies then I guess it is not utterly senseless to make such movies.

Judwaa salman’s movie was itself a bad movie. Coolie 1 isn’t a great movie but definitely entertaining but Govinda was such a awesome actor esp his comic roles.

I feel that Varun shud do judwaa type movies coz atleast a section of audience likes such movies , Its movies like KALANK he needs to stay away from …no section of audience wanna see that shit.

    2. Varun Dhawan can’t command box office as if today. Period. I’m yet to across someone who is his fan or will watch a movie coz he is in it.

He is working on his way but is only a notch above Sid, not a superstar yet, not even a box office earner yet. His salman-govinda mix side kick attitude is not helping either.. .doesn’t make him look like hero.

He needs severe PR makeover and stop doing 2nd lead roles like One with John. Remakes are his way of topping BO but judwaa remake was a hit due to Salman n old songs, coolie is too emotional n won’t work well, anyway govinda effect is worn off now which won’t help the movie but will sabotage dhawans image.

Guy needs to create his own image through PR n most importantly movies. Short height n fat abs make him look like uday chopra.

He can do good but needs to focus on acting….he is right now where Ranveer was during befikre, lost. He needs SLB or new directors with content to make a mark.

    3. The blind is referring to his series of flops? So the industry insiders are aware that Varun’s last two movies before the disaster Kalank October, Sui Daaga in reality are flops eventhough his pr, media and trade (who seem to favour big director David Dhawan’s son) gave those movies average tags. Even Kalank which should have gotten a disaster tag is touted as a flop by the trade. 40 crores and 60 crores collection is an embarassment for someone whose pr claim is the most successful young actor just because he never gave a flop unlike his other contemporaries. What a joke

    4. I finally saw Sui dhaaga and I actually found varun really endearing – it was a simple honest performance that suited the role …the best part of the film was the banter between his character and his parents especially the sublime Raghubir Yadav. Lately the parents have really stolen the show in these small budget quirky movies …pankaj tripathi and seema pahwa in bareilly ki barfi, neena Gupta and Gajraj Rao in badhaai ho ….I just wanted to hug them to death they were so adorable 🙂

    5. Highly talented? Really? Only if mimicking Salman and Govinda can be termed as talent.
Kalank was sure shot flop given limitations of both Alia and Varun. Coolie no 1 might just work for him considering his usp is overacting

    6. Honestly this guy isnt a good actor don’t understand why he is so hyped. I loved October but Dan for me was ruined by the incompetency of Varun as an actor plus his horrible accent and diction. Don’t understand why Indian actors are so lazy and never work on it

      1. I feel VD is overacting ki dukaan! but Dan was ADORABLE! I just wanted to hug him in every scene; Shoojit took out the best of him!

        1. @ Samantha: that was ‘coz the writing by Juhi was so good! Often we mistake good parts for good acting. Just imagine someone like Nawaz or Ayushman doing Dan – complete naturals adding their own nuances to the the parts . Varun was so lazy he couldn’t even be bothered to try and sound like a delhite. And just mumbling your dialogues is not acting. Anyway my 2 cents. Peace

    7. They just announced that Coolie No. 1 will be released May 2020. Does that mean it will clash withe Brahmastra?

    8. hey admin who is the blind item on the overdressed socialite in Mumbai mirror about? iT’s on the Mumbai mirror website under ‘the informer’ section and will be in papers tomorrow.

    9. Oh God! Let it be a flop! Coolie no 1 itself was BAD! n to remake a bad movie! Ugh!

Ppl say VD hasnt given a flop till date (till Kalank happened).. then October (only VD movie which I LOVED), Dishoom, Dilwale (which wa apparently a flop fr SRK).. what were they?? HIT?? Even Sui Dhaaga was a flop!
