This superstar has been enjoying his downtime for a while now. He finally decided on it and if you remember, we said he should take a break and let the audience miss him.
Now that he is on this hiatus, there have been so many rumors on what he shall do next. No one really knows and neither does he. At this point, his next film is very important, which explains why he is carefully thinking what he should do next.
After all, all eyes on him!
He should take this time to refresh and come back with new tricks. Show the audience a different side, not the same arm-stretching hero cast in a different type of romantic film! Most importantly, he should stop interfering with his director’s original vision and let the story do the talking.
By the way, his wife said she is happy he is not working since he gets to babysit more and she can travel freely!

Superhero with a Visa
It’s no secret that several filmmakers have been seeking an appointment with this superstar who has been on a sabbatical for close to a year now. The superstar has also himself reached out to writers and directors whose recent works he has enjoyed, curious to know if they might have something he would be interested in. Sources confirm he’s met more than two dozen filmmakers in the past few months—some more than once—but hasn’t committed to anything; not even the scripts he was clearly impressed by.
One such team he sat down with is a respected non-resident Indian filmmaker who made the stop at his home the past weekend with a writing partner. The filmmaker is a well-known name globally having made mostly films about the experiences of Indian immigrants overseas. A few of those projects, including the filmmaker’s latest, have broken out and done respectable business.
According to those in the know, the filmmaker pitched a superhero project to the superstar during the meeting—but not your typical Marvel-style comic-book superhero. “It’s something unique and specific and distinct,” a source reveals, and one closer to the filmmaker’s preferred ‘world’: steeped in the immigrant culture and experience.
The source also says the superstar was “definitely all ears” but has asked for more time to think about it. The project, if it fructifies, could be the superstar’s first international film, one that straddles global appeal but has a sensibility that doesn’t alienate the superstar’s loyal Indian audience.
He hasn’t been playing your typical hero movies for a while now, RNBDJ, JTHJ, JHMS, Raees, Dear Zindagi, Zero, Fan, ADHM, were all non conventional hero roles. He acted “his age” or someone other than “SRK”, the shy geeky guy in RNBDJ, the burnt out rough guy in JHMS/JTHJ, the gunda in Raees, the wise philosopher in DZ, the super fan in Zero and Fan, the wise ex hubby in ADHM… I’m not really sure sometimes WHAT the audience wants from him – he hasn’t been your typical “Rahul” character in forever! He needs to continue on in Zoya Akhtar style films, playing someone closer to himself in reality (which I think he was in JHMS) and I guess what the audience wants and maybe is missing is on screen chemistry with someone again. Dilwale was all buzz no substance but tried to promote heavily the chemistry which was awful. I think he would look good opposite a Nimrat, or Kriti Kulhari, I thought he looked great in Raees opposite Mahira – a woman with a bit more substance. He did look really good opposite Aishwarya as well if someone could direct her to be more calm. I’m tired of him doing like action movies though – Fan, Dilwale were boring.
Srk needs to do a mature comedy, playing close to his age with a leading lady, that is close to his age, may be with children ,as well! Kind of roles that Tom Hanks does!
SRK needs to continue what he is currently doing. Enjoying his time and all the money he worked so hard for. SRK we need you to come back to Trinidad. Your cricket team needs you there supporting them through the CPL. And when that is over, take a movie with a yesteryear theme. I really fed up seeing all those actors doing impossible stunts and less romancing. Bring back some 80s early 90s type of movies that you excel in. Just not with Kajol. Or any other actress young like your daughter. It would be nice to do a movie with Karishma. She looks so nice now. That would be a really nice duo.
SRK needs to reinvent himself. Not keep doing the same thing in every movie. Always felt he is a shrewd businessman, he will know what his brand needs now.
P.S – Good to see “same arm-stretching” act mentioned and not any conspiracy theories of someone trying to pull him down.
Plzzzz nahi… SRK…. ur fans want to see d bazigar …. Darr kinda style of work not follow d roost n experiment with movies who are making a movie for d superstar you are
