When it was announced that ‘Bajirao Mastani’ and ‘Dilwale’ were releasing together, the whole world was waiting to see how both of these films will fare at the box office. Well not that whole world, but most people who were familiar with the clash that happened on Christmas. It has been 10 days since the films released and while without a doubt ‘Dilwale’ scored a huge opening while ‘Bajirao Mastani’ got a modest opening. Since it was a Shah Rukh Khan movie release, his film ‘Dilwale’ was expected to do better than Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film that starred two stars, who have only been in this industry for 6 years or more. ‘Dilwale’ did do better at the beginning, but when people started complaining at how disappointing the film was, ‘ Bajirao Mastani’ gained precedence in India where most people, who have watched it loved it. In other words, it’s WOM (word of mouth) that is helping ‘Bajirao Mastani’ perform better and ‘Dilwale’ slowing down at the box office.
