A bit like Woody Allen’s ‘Matchpoint’ released in 2005!
Without unintentionally giving away any spoilers, ‘Gehraiyaan’ has a similar plot but with a few changes here and there. What it is not is, an extramaritally affair since both couples are not married in the film! Don’t know if you have seen ‘Matchpoint’, it was quite a big deal when it released. It was the film that presented Scarlett Johansson with a sexy image, something she herself admitted was wrong to be typecast so early in her career. Blame it on Woody Allen! He used to call her his muse!
From what we saw, there are quite a few similarities in ‘Matchpoint’ and ‘Gehraiyaan’. The twist in the film is the opposite of what happened in that film, so it’s definitely better in this one. Plus, the ending is different. In between that, there’s just so much that happens with the characters. You need to watch it to understand it.

The pairing of Siddhant and Deepika is a bit weird. There’s not really a connection between them, don’t know if this was on purpose or there really isn’t any chemistry. Compared their pairing to Jonathan and ScarJo, the latter is definitely fire onscreen!
By the way, Siddhant was also in ‘Bunty Aur Babli 2’ and we can’t really tell between him and Rani Mukerji in the film, who overacted more?!
Anyway, that’s all we are gonna say. Watch it if you are looking for something different. And of course, it is a film for adults.
Also, fyi, there are several scenes that might not go well with those suffering from mental health issues so tread lightly while watching to avoid getting triggered as the scenes are quite visual like in-your-face3 kinda scenes!
