‘Shuddhi’ has been in pre-production for quite some time now. Hrithik Roshan was signed on to play the lead with Kareena Kapoor as the lead actress. Little did they all know that some months after that, Katrina Kaif will Hrithik on the head, which resulted in him getting brain surgery. Jokes aside, when Hrithik underwent his surgery the movie he was working on, ‘Bang Bang’ had to be rescheduled. With ‘Bang Bang’ rescheduling happening, ‘Shuddhi’ too had to be rescheduled. Because of Hrithik’s surgery, the careers of Katrina Kaif and Kareena Kapoor suffered a big blow. They found themselves unemployed when actresses younger than them in the industry are getting their piece of cake and eating it too!
After announcing his separation from wife Sussanne Khan Roshan, Hrithik soon released a statement saying that he would like to get out of ‘Shuddhi’ because he needed time for himself and his family. Strangely though, Hrithik signed Ashutosh Gowariker’s film some days after announcing his departure from ‘Shuddhi’. Kareena too is no longer doing the film now as she felt she wasted a lot of time waiting for this film to take off!
Now, it has appeared that the REAL reason Hrithik Roshan is out of ‘Shuddhi’ is because he asked for a 40 per cent share of the film’s profit, something that Aamir Khan usually does. There’s no news on how much Hrithik is charging for the film, but with his fee plus his profit sharing demands, Karan Johar felt that it was too much and decided to show him the door out of Dharma Productions. Now it remains to be seen who will be in this film. That said, it’s strange that ‘Shuddhi’ is in the news before the film has even started. Something similar happened to ‘Heroine’ too, but that film was already underway when Aishwarya Rai Bachchan became pregnant.
