Kartik Aaryan left ‘Dostana 2’ citing creative differences on his own, he was not ousted or fired.
Think about it… This movie has been in the making for so long. Dharma Productions finally managed to lock in a young and fresh cast and they already started shooting the film. If it wasn’t for the pandemic and lockdown last year, the movie would have been completed and released in 2020.
Two things could have happened.
Kartik had a change of heart over the lockdown and decided not to do the film. He came up with “not liking the second part of the film/script” reason and got out of the project. Because it sounds really silly for him to suddenly not agree with the second-half of the film. He has had the script since 2019 and only in 2021 he realizes he doesn’t like it and proceed to put his opinions in front of KJo. It sounds like one of those old-age problems stars used to have and they would use the exact excuse to get out of a project but straight away rush to another one that they thought was better.
Or, KJo was really upset at him for focusing on another new project instead of completing this one. Kartik did sign another film and shot it with various PR articles hyping how fast he shot the film and how much he got paid for it.
Either way, Kartik will be fine. It’s not as if it’s the end of the world. They have been trying to get this film going for years now so…Besides, he has so many other projects on hand, he has nothing to worry about. He might actually be better off without this film, who knows how it might turn out.
At least, he didn’t get fired for not doing his job (acting) properly…Remember this one actress (star kid) who went through that while in the middle of shooting a sportswoman’s biopic!
Funny thing is, in this case, KJo knows how KA is and KA knows how KJo is so whatever happened between them is for the best since these two really know each other. That’s why you see Dharma Productions quickly coming out with clarifications on the allegations out there. This means this is real and someone is playing dirty!
The only one at lost here is Dharma Productions since everything was planned about the film. They even shot some of it, Kartik shot for 20 days. It can’t be someone as business-savvy as KJo would just suddenly fire Kartik from the film just because he felt he didn’t want to work with him. It doesn’t make sense when there’s much money at stake here. Plus, there are other actors also whose dates have already been booked for this project. It affects everyone, especially the actor being launched.

Buying something this expensive at a time like this and calling the paps to show it off during a pandemic and releasing articles on how expensive this item is…are all just insensitive??!
It’s just weird. He just recovered from Covid so he is in a better situation to understand how this virus can affect people. As soon as he gets better, he goes out and buy this expensive car. Not forgetting, letting everyone know that he paid extra to have the car shipped sooner because he couldn’t wait.
For some reason, it was impossible not to guess that something isn’t right! The other day, it made sense when KJo had to come out and refute the rumours of the upcoming Sharan Sharma’s film. Why? Kartik’s name was constantly being linked to the film. It was said he was already set and they were busy casting the heroine.
Now it does seem as if Kartik made that purchase and showed it off to prove that he is doing well and is not affected by whatever happened behind the scenes. Ironically, a top actress did the same thing years ago. She went out and bought a super expensive car just to prove that she can still afford it, as her films were flopping and she wasn’t getting the kind of good roles she used to.

What an insensitive thing do to: Saying something as horrible as the statement below! And people are still going to lap this up as the truth!
Well, she couldn’t save Bollywood but now she wants to save Kartik Aaryan even though she still can’t spell the late Sushant’s name! But see how convenient it is to cook up some new drama to keep the media busy and people occupied with this at a time when things are going horribly wrong in the country.
Anyways, speaking of ‘Dostana 2’, Abhishek Bachchan waited so long for this film to be made! ‘Dostana’ was his clean hit and he was after its original director Tarun to make the second one. When it did happen, neither the director nor him were featured among the cast and crew.
Are they going to shelve it now or will they just replace Kartik?

Kjo as a producer should not be losing so much money. There are no two arguments about that. Meanwhile, kangy is loose cannon and a dangerous one. Irresponsible utterances and little else. She should be ignored.
I dont know any blinds about Alia…i know about how Raj Kumar and Shraddha being linked…. I know Ayushman became too big for his boots, and Taapsee throwing attitude with her staff.. never been a fan of KA, tbh…But am being practical, we know of his ‘unprofessional’ behavior, but we also know sometimes the situation just pushes one to the edge. If we take this like any job, you will hear stories from the corporate world, where people have had differences and resigned on the spur..
I am sure there must have been a trigger, and id rather both were honest about the situation than just release passive aggressive news items implying stuff. If KA has the balls and has actually been given second hand treatment, then he might as well leak blinds about why he actually Walked Out…Both sides are to be blamed for sure, so it makes no sense to feel bad for one over the other..
You forgot to name BIs on some insiders too…there were many about RK, DP, VK, JK, VD, SM etc etc…. after SSR incident whenever some issue comes up, SO CALLED outsiders want to play victim card. I am not defending Kjo or nepo gang, but just saying there could be other side also. And this KR is in forefront to grab advantage and show her frustration…Sounds so cheap now. There is no decency left.
Kjo is mean and cunning accepted..but others cant take advantage about this for showing themselves Dudh ka Dhula all the time.
Oh yeah, I am sure KA is cunning too, you cant get this far without being shrewd. All i am sayin is that insiders blinds are about projecting them as desirable , casanova etc, never about them bein difficult. its about their conquests, but outsiders seem to have attitude problems, unprofessional etc. Like Mouni hitting on Ayan and RK etc,,,
I am yet to understand what issue KR really has with KJo, sure he is snooty, but am sure she was handed worse behavior by other male costars!
@admin you mean to say KA’s team leaked those articles to get him sympathy? Some articls did seem very strange- like they were trying to blame KA but instead ended up portraying KJo as a bully. Since he is one anyways, it seemed believable. If this is the case, dammnnn KA. He has one of the strongest PRs. Hopefully KA knows what he is doing.He is not that great an actor, but I want him to do well. Other producers are watching his behaviour. Its better to be professional when you have no backing. No one will help you otherwise when you are down. Look at Akshay, he was able to come back after his lull because he was always good to his producers.

Sure, the BI may have some truth to them, but give me complete BW gossip, not just on outsiders, tell me about nepo gang too..As much as one cant force Kjo to take who he doesnt want, you cant force actors to be in films if they dont want to be in. And i wont rule out that KA did the math too..
In the past so many women have been replaced and no one cared to find out whose fault it was, was it sexual harassment, was it pay, etc, Now since it involves Kjo everything needs to be justified.. Dignified silence has also been practiced by all those who he released blinds about. Time to get a dose of his own med!
Again, BIs were written about everyone in the industry irrespective of whether they are outsiders or insiders. Everyone got their share of it and as did everyone who play the PR game to fool the audience. If the situation which is what’s happening is being talked about, how is it character assassination? No one has been spared. For some reason, since SSR’s passing many have been claiming that BIs are only written to tarnish outsiders which is not true at all. That thought can be refuted with just a simple search of BIs written and it will be seen that no one was spared.
Judge the situation based on what has happened, not based on imaginary propagandas. A big deal is being made out of this when countless times famous actors have dropped out of projects, but this is probably the first in recent time when a famous young star dropped out after shooting most of his part. He drops out for whatever reasons, he moves on and gets on with his other films. He doesn’t lose anything whereas the producers who have already put their money to shoot the already-shot parts are the ones left with a headache.
It is what it is…if it makes you happy to blame KJo, go ahead if that’s what seems fair.
For all we know, Lakshay is rumoured to be KJos new toy…I can only imagine how the script must have been altered to give him more mileage,which probably dint go down well wtih KA.

As much of an insensitve ass KA might be, dont forget all the blinds KJo and gang released about him…what about how JrAB waited to be cast in Dostana2 and was not even in consideration. Kjo is not as professional as he and you might make it sound. He had cut John Abrahams role in Kabhi Alvida or some movie..
About Kjo remaing a force to reckon with.. Dont bet on it. the pandemic has changed cinema and star status forever! KA probably did the math and walked out, he knows Kjo isnt all that anymore, plus he has decided to launch a few people who will be on his payroll, KA will never be casted by him in future anyway, the roles will go to these newcomers and nepo gang! Everyone has right to do whats beneficial to them, its not only something KJo is entitled to because he is a producer!
The issue here being a situation has been wrongly reported just to put someone in a bad light and another in a poor/pitiful light.
As for BIs on KA, KA himself wanted to be in the limelight…he wanted to be known as the next RK aka the next Casanova. His behavior since he got his first 100 crore film is there for everyone to see. He played the game to get people talking about him and he played it well.
It’s convenient and childish to blame KJo for everything. His home production is already at its lowest, doubt he would do anything where he will have to lose even more money. Besides, it’s his production, his money so he gets to decide who is in it. What’s the point of guilt-tripping him or forcing him to take someone he doesn’t want.
I think Karan could have handled the public announcement better. That is what screwed it up. He said Kartik was unprofessional, some issue with Janhavi etc etc. If Kartik walked, just saying the truth would have caused less of a mess for him.
What happened was, someone spread that rumour that KA was kicked out then followed by fired due to unprofessionalism blabla…KA being treated like a poor lamb, KJo being blamed again…Only then did Dharma released a statement. That’s why they mentioned “dignified silence” in the statement. Someone was having way too much fun earlier.
There is something wrong with KA. I never liked his sexist rants .. of course KR will take advantage of the situation. And KA – as a fool – will entertain KR’s negativity. These are all deluded. Reality is – such people come, people go— Bollywood bigwigs remain. Whoever can sustain power and professionalism remain. Whoever gets carried away disappear
It’s about destiny. Dostana 2 should have have been done with the original team. But karan johar chose to do something else, so dostana 2 became jinxed.
