National Film Awards for 2019 announced

The National Awards last year were postponed due to the pandemic, so they just announced it today. Bear in mind, the films and performances had to be from the year before and not last year.

    3

The not so surprise winners were Kangana Ranaut and Vijay Sethupathi. With all the noise that Kangu made on Twitter to divert attention away from real things, she obviously had to be rewarded. It’s funny because we were thinking the other day that one of the reasons she does what she does is because the government has awarded her in the past so she feels the need to standby them and protect them. Something like that. Her winning this award is similar to Akshay Kumar’s win, the jury couldn’t even come up with a valid reason why they gave him that award out of all the actors in India. Similarly, for Kangu, she was good in ‘Panga’ but way better in ‘Judgementall Hai Kya’. No doubt, she might win again next year for ‘Thalaivi’.

Ever since we saw ‘Super Deluxe’ we have been waiting for the day Vijay Sethupathi would be announced and here he is! He deserves it!

As for best film win ‘Chhichhore’, it’s quite a simple and plain film to win this award. Weren’t there no better film released? Obviously, this has a lot to do with the late Sushant Singh Rajput. It’s a wonder they didn’t acknowledged him or his performance. But then, he never really did show his support for the government publicly, so…Also, the hype post his death has slowed down a bit. If they did reward him, trolls would be like: CBI, tell us what happened!

    1. kangana is a good actress but I feel sad to know that shes this type of person outside filmy duniya, she’s arrogant, proud, supportive of a fail government and only God knows what is going on inside her head

    2. Admin, actions cause more harm than expletives. I am not absolving KR or defending her, but you do admit that her words have caused more harm to herself than others while nepo gangs actions have caused more harm to others than themselves.  Now you decide who is more detrimental?

About the nudes, don’t overlook the fact that we don’t have context. RK is no saint he did initiate contact with her ( and maybe others!) and she settled for a physical relation.! He not only circulated her nudes but also released a blind. We don’t know the background about the the run up to the nudes. Don’t judge her when you wont judge RK for being a cheater while in a relationship. A woman should not carry the burden of morality. And thats where i see no difference in KR and nepo gangs moral compass.  .

If you will go by their saccharine sweet interviews  and public image and judge them superficially, then i rest my case. In my eyes they are equally vile and vicious even as individual human beings no matter how nice and fancy their social media handle looks like.

    3. Oops – SD is sanju baba, mistyped it as his dad sunil dutt, who was one of the finest gentleman and human being

    4. AD – Ajay Devgan
      SD – Sunil dutt
      SK – salman khan
      KR – kangana ranaut
      AC – aditya chopra
      KJo – karan johar
      BW – bollywood
      HR – hritik roshan
      SSR – sushant singh rajput
      SM – social media
      NA – national award
      JHK – judgemental hai kya

This will help you enjoy comments better 🙂 happy weekend!
Popcorn level activity on this blog after a long time – welcome back everyone!

    5. @Admin, whats more dangerous? calling names or actually going behind the scenes to steal work and writing blinds to sabotage people’s image? KR is the unadulterated and unfiltered version of the nepo gang , as i see it. Dont know how they are in their exclusive parties, but we do know RK circulates nudes. I dont see why you feel the nepo gang is better…both are the same, their just operate differently

      1. Don’t compare their actions, judge them individually as a human being.

Never said the nepo gang is better…

KR has viciously attacked everyone, not just from the film industry. She’s not an “unadulterated and unfiltered version”, she’s a vicious and demented person…that’s the difference. If you still fail to see the damage she has done to herself, her reputation and to all the women she has attacked, then… 🤷‍♀️

P.S. KR sent RK her pics without him asking for them despite her knowing RK was living in with Kat. Why??!

    6. I dont know about AD asking her to be quiet, cos i remember there was an explosive stardust issue about the affair, She exposed their affair and he dint retaliate is all i know. the one thing he wanted her to be quiet about, she exposed and yet SD and SK are still cordial with her. About being ignorant, ofcourse i know the nepos look out for each other, what i dint know was they would get outsiders to praise their films and wouldnt reciprocate the gesture. They would snatch films etc etc. Sticking out for each other and praising each other pales in comparison.I am sure other girls have had it worse than KR, but KR managed to become a power to reckon with due to her performances and she used that clout to settle scores. there is no standard way people react to the same situation. Ideally , she could have leveraged that love of the audience differently, but she dint. Its how Kat changed after being dumped by RK, while she was with him, she was also quite cold…and her excuse for this behavior was that she was dating the Kapoor scion?! They way i see it, KJo and gang dint change after SSR either. They just became quiet. Do i believe that they dint push SSR to a point of breakdown, NO i dont. All these years, the gang enjoyed elite status and the love of the audience and they did nothing but use it to isolate and target outsiders behind the scenes. No one is worse here, They are all two sides of the same coin. The nepo gang is just smooth with their words, but the intent is the still the same

      1. Doubt the nepo gang go around calling people terrorist, womanizer, drug addict, rapist, prostitute, make fun of mental illness, and whatnot for no reason. In that way, the audience are also to blame for supporting KR and her talent because that also contributed to creating a monster!

    7. @Admin…Is that a threat or warning? Why you angry? Just because I called out your bosses..Ohh poor you

      1. My dear, it’s a warning…Read the comments policy, it’s the same rule for everyone. You posted the same comment under a different username and it was caught as spam because it’s from the same person. Post your comment under one account and username only. Hope it’s clear enough and you understand.

    8. @Admin, i was enquiring about this line from your post: “He saw how he was treated when SSR died and how no one stood by him the way they are standing by KR”

Kjo isnt actually a loyalist, he is an opportunist and he attracts his kind. Once you’ve aged or unsuccessful, he throws you out like hot potatoes.

      1. Oh sorry, we didn’t know. What we meant was, the government didn’t back KJo against all these allegations, threats and abuse. If it wasn’t lockdown back then, he and his people could have been physically attacked. That’s how crazy the rage was. Kangu got security despite her being the one barking threats on social media and on national television. They made the nation pay for her security, you see the irony? She is protected because she did her job whereas KJo has not and neither have any other popular celebrity. What you are saying about his character, is the same with everyone famous and rich. But compared to AC who truly is all about the money, KJo cares for his people. AC is brutal while KJo does have a heart…Maybe that comes from his dad or seeing his dad suffer badly in the past.

    9. Admin: I partially echo what you say. However , the truth is, we all eventually fight our own battles. Its as true as the fact that life is shitty. Exposing the creeps and predators in BW, we both know, would backfire. Take the case of Aditi settling for a money in exchange for exposing AKki. Look what happened to Tanushree Dutta. Nana is a free man. Most of these victims come out to support their predators.
About the Trio: AD, SK and SD: I remember she did expose AD. He never retaliated. SD and SK she had a FWB equations. And whatever is the BW yardstick for good behavior, I think they were decent to her. Never mocked her publically like for her accent, looking down on her etc unlike Kjo, Sonam and gang with their snarky comments. I think she did mention that Alia and Aamir would call her for their film trailers, but never supported her when it was her turn. She must have felt she was taken for a ride. I don’t agree with her method of seeking revenge, but we all have our own ways.Hence, I do believe the industry is kinda responsible for making her the terror she is today. TBH, she never set out to be a messiah for the underdogs or take up every social cause. We thrust these expectations on her. At least, the audience is a little aware of the nepo nexus and how the industry operates. I wasn’t aware earlier about the games they play.

      1. It is true they didn’t treat her the way she thought they would. But bear in mind, she was also doing things behind the scenes that made them stay away from her. We won’t say what but if you have a friend like that in your group, you would do the same thing. She was trying to climb the ladder and tried.

How were you or anyone else not aware how things run? It’s easy to see, fake praises, whose kid is being launched, who is being praised more, top stars calling the shots, the same young girl being cast with the same hero over and over, and all that. You want to make it here, you have to play dirty. It’s actually worst in the South film industries…Like way way worst.

We know so many girls who went through so much in the industry but they didn’t come out of it thinking they are God or something. Things are never easy for the women, no matter whose kid they are, it’s easier for the men though.

See, Kangu was always a rebel. This was a girl who publicly said she once slapped her father when she disagreed with him about something and that was before she joined the film industry. If you have met a narcissist, you will be able to identify. They only worship those they think are above them but those below them have to bow down or else they become an enemy!

To say the industry contributed to her being the vile way she is today would take away the fact that success, fame and adulation changed her. Aren’t there accounts of her beating up her staff and even her ex? Should the industry be blame for that? It’s easy to put the blame on someone else which would make her unaccountable and not responsible for her disgusting behavior. She didn’t try to change herself for the better, she became worse than them.

P.S. AD warned her to stay quiet or she will face legal consequences. She did! But for some reason, the legal notice from HR triggered her like crazy! Which means she knows who is the powerful one and who she should not mess with.

    10. Part 2 I feel like the industry prodded her to a point where now she’s consumed by this hate… There was a time there were so many blind written about her and she was basically written off. Going back to the work example again — when you see your mediocre colleagues get applauded for basic work or get promotions time and time again and your hard work is ignored how resentful or gracious would you be?

Maybe I’m giving her too much credit here but if you see her gradual growth towards the ‘lunacy’ — you can see how at every stage she was pushed a little more.A controversial point — when heros meddle with directors and movies – they are called perfectionists and are appreciated or it’s just ignored that they do that… (Ex Amir Khan, Akshay Kumar even SRK). There are plenty stories about how male actors change scripts, cut/add roles, or interfere/meddle with direction on sets but when they do it it doesn’t cause a stir. Kangana does the same and it’s made into a lot of fuss. All of the stuff she says out in the open is stuff I guarantee the industry speaks in hush tones behind closed doors.
Mind you I don’t want to excuse her of her flaws — I’m just saying the industry has played a role in making her the terror that she is now.
And I chose to look at her through those lens. She’s made a place for her despite….. Not everyone has a K-Jo. 🤷🏽‍♀️

      1. See, we all go through sh!t in life.

Prior to her showing her true colors on social media, we always understood where she is coming from. But here’s the thing, she turned out to be worse than the very same colleagues she has accused in the past year. Her behavior of coming up again and again after SSR’s death with disgusting and vile conversations involving the industry and others cannot be excused. She had a chance to make it known who are the predators and creeps of Bollywood but instead she made it all about her personal vendetta. Because you know why? She knows these people won’t do anything to her but the likes of AD, SD and even SK are too powerful to mess with. She brought her dirty laundry out for the whole world to see and be part of. All because these people she was attacking don’t pay her any attention…They don’t bow down to her…They don’t praise her achievements and all that crap! Bear in mind, she would not have uttered a word against them if she was in their tight gang. That’s what frustrates her more!

Her current narcissist behavior cannot and should not be excused just because she had a horrible beginning in the industry. Heck, did she try to help others suffering in the industry? What about that lady who was attacked by a knife? No! Because KR doesn’t give a damn about others, it’s only about her and herself only! She has not only managed to offend her industry but her audience as well. And only she is to blame for that!

    11. Read this on Reddit:
      Kangana – a different perspective

I see a lot of comments about how no one supports her from the industry anymore —- putting aside all of her antics now for a min— When did people of the industry go out of their way to support her really? She was always made fun of in award shows and other shows for having a slight lisp or her English skills — or lack there of (as much as I like Sugandha Mishra as an artist – the Kangana lisp act was her highlight mimicry act).

What we see in Kangana now is when a victim turns bully cause’ their give a damn is busted.

If you had colleagues at work who you knew were faulty and only had ill stuff to say about you behind your back or supported someone who outright bullies/bullied you (K-Jo) would you be gracious towards their fake-ness especially if you’ve set out to expose their double faces to everyone else at every other branch?

    12. Ohh.. Admin ..Looks like your bosses ( read: Deepika and Ranveer) seem to be upset with KR’s award. Let’s not take Kangana’s name along with Akshay’s in the same breath when it comes to acting. Yes, there could have been a push for her name to get the award finally, but she is TALENTED to the core. Your bosses are also part talented , part hyped by the media. So lets not single out others . We all know in any field to succeed talent and connections go hand in hand .So don’t crib of Kangana’s success.

      1. Boo, you made the same comment under multiple accounts. Please use only one account to comment on here as multiple accounts is considered spam by the system. If you continue, your comments will automatically not go through and be deemed spam.

    13. Kjo and his minions must be crying their hearts out now. He must have promised 1 national award to one of his most favourite minions by next year.

It’s heartening to see outsiders shine, but kangana should think at least once before talking on social media, it would be great.

      1. Has KJo’s production house ever won a NA? Or for that matter, has YRF won a NA? KJo will have to work extra hard to please the NA people if he wants one for his minions. Networking!

        1. Sorry admin, beg to differ. Kjo appears to be in a bad phase now, so he’s super quiet. But one thing for sure, that he is quite street smart and good with words. He would certainly find his way out to get what he wants.

Aditya and his brother uday too might bounce back, then they can get things done as per their wishes.

It all boils down to luck and timing along with smart work in the end. Kjo could have his way now too, but then na people can sense the anger and hatred of public for Bollywood.

          1. Not disputing your thoughts earlier, just stating that NA usually not given to the glamour and commercial films that KJo & others are used to doing. Bahubali did win, but that was not a KJo production. He cannot have everything, money and prestigious awards. Right now, he has figured out a way to not let his PH drown. He saw how he was treated when SSR died and how no one stood by him the way they are standing by KR. He’s not dumb to not play by the rules, he knows it which is why he stays on good terms with the Ambanis and the ruling party!

        2. If we disassociate KR from her twitter handle, i feel she was the most deserving for NA, irrespective of which film she would have won it for, JHK, or the ones she got it for, she owned 2019…

She has won in the past under Cong rule too, So it wouldn’t be fair to not attribute this to her talent and only BJP nexus.

Kjo has also tried to please the govt, he jetted off with his minions to meet Modi, but none of his films are even worth a consideration, in their message or performances.

I feel this is how she should silence her enemies rather spewing venom on SM.. I don’t doubt that everyone burned with this announcement. It was however heartening to see that Juhi Chawla was the only one to wish KR on her birthday, despite being friends with SRK , and i guess by extension KJo too?

      2. Simple logic..if you friend with me…i will benefit you. Kangu…good terms with Ashwini iyer…Chichhore is her husband film…and this adds to SSR drama also…so gaining sympathy from that group too. No doubt Kangu is talented, but Judgemental hai kya could have made sense than Manikarnika…

Looking at Thalaivi Trailer…its Kangu all the way…One can Hate her..Like her but cannot ignore her….

      3. @Admin, who would you cast your vote for best actress for BW films released in 2019? As much as, it could be a case of govt rewarding Kangana, did she really have competition?

        1. For BW films, KR is definitely the best and that would be for JMH since it was an impeccable performance. Her performance in Panga was flawless too but it released the next year.

NA for best actress are for all cinemas not just BW. Parvathy would have been a better choice or Manju Warrier.

KR winning again and again takes away the opportunity for the deserving others to shine. Plus, it looks like she is being rewarded for her perfect performance since SSR died!
