Rekha

At one time Rekha was two timing ABSr and Raj Babbar and having an affair with both…Rekha was seen running down a Juhu road after a fight with Raj Babbar in his office in the middle of the night. Amitabh Bachchan was waiting outside. Torn between the two men she wanted to flee from both. Amitabh in a white Ambassador tried to stop her, but she was hysterical and just kept running.

Rekha got into a heady alliance with Sunjay Dutt (then referred to as her toyboy) after she was disallowed to meet Amitabh Bachchan. Even when he was in hospital after the accident on the sets of Coolie she went in for a relationship with a vengeance and did whatever she did rather publicly. It lasted a month.

Rekha’s relationship with Vinod Mehra was an open one and the actress was often the unofficial hostess for various functions at Vinod Mehra’s home.The problem arose when Vinod Mehra’s mother flatly refused to accept Rekha. According to media reports, Vinod Mehra was keen to tie the knot with the actress but his mother was adamant. The industry buzz was that Rekha was finally fed up with his dilly dallying and asked him to choose between her and his mother.Media reports claim that fed up with the pointless relationship, the actress tried to commit suicide by eating a plate of poisoned upma. The matter was hurriedly hushed up and Vinod Mehra addressed a press conference and denied any suicide attempt. He claimed that the actress had an upset tummy. But soon after the so-called suicide attempt, the relationship broke up. However the two of them remained good friends until Vinod Mehra’s untimely death.

Hema Malini

Hema Malini was with Dharmendra and Jeetendra with Shobha. Hema Malini and Jeetendra started working together, then they fell madly in love. Secretly, they decided on marriage. During an outdoor shoot they would have almost completed their pheras if Shobha and Dharmendra hadn’t got a clue to the situation and rushed to the spot and brought back their respective partners.

Sridevi

Sridevi back stabbed friend Mona Kapoor who accomodated Sri when she came to Mumbai…Sri got pregnant with her rakhi brother after which he married her and Mona moved out of Boney’s life..

Boney Kapoor’s marriage to Sridevi made his first wife, Mona, livid. Once when Sridevi was pregnant they came face to face in a party, and taking the opportunity Mona’s mom started assaulting her until Archana Puran Singh intervened and stopped the enraged woman.

Kamal Haasan

Kamal Haasan and Sarika were in love, but were not public about it for some time. Sarika got pregnant out of wedlock. Of course, Vani Ganapathy, his wedded wife, raised an uproar and went public. But, Sarika went ahead and gave birth to her love child. Later they split and then he had an affair with his leading lady in many movies Simran and now he is in a live-in relationship wih actress, Gautami.

Vyjayantimala

Vyjayantimala had an affair with Raj Kapoor during which Krishna Kapoor moved out with the kids to a hotel. After that fizzled Vyjayantimala had an affair with her personal physician Dr Bali, who too was married. It was rumoured then that Vyjayanthimala had ‘bought’ herself a husband by paying the hefty alimony that Dr Bali had to give his wife to get a divorce.

Simi Garewal

Simi Garewal had an affair in the 80’s with a noted businessman from Pakistan Salman Taseer, who later became the Governor of Punjab in Pakistan and who was assasinated and who’s son was kidnapped recently in Lahore in August.

Salman Taseer

Salman Taseer was no less of a colorful dude. In the 80’s, during a book tour to India, he and noted Indian journalist Tavleen Singh had a love affair that lasted for a week after which he returned to Pakistan to his kids and wife. After that Tavleen got pregnant with his child, who continued with the pregnancy and their affair continued for 2 years and then Salman Taseer fled to Dubai after he was tortured in a Lahore Fort by The Zia regime. That’s when he met Simi Garewal and they painted the Dubai social circuit red… Taboids and gossip columns went crazy for a while writing abt the public confrontations between the three, Salman Taseer and Simi and Tavleen Singh and stories abt infidelity, cheating and betrayal. Tavleen Singh had a son from Salman Taseer, who later wrote a book on his estrangement from his biological father. Simi’s affair with Salman Taseer lasted for a year after which she married a businessman from Delhi. That marriage lasted for a week after which she separated from him.

Jackie Shroff

Jackie, who was in the city told this about rumours of his wife having an affair, “She’s a big girl. There’s nothing pulling or holding her down. She has her own ambition, her own friends. She’s given me a lot of leeway always. I too have been like that. There were Meenakshi, Madhuri, Dimple – usne uff tak nahi kara. She never said anything. Baaki sab bindaas hai. Usko iska hazaar guna maaf hai.”

Amitabh Bachchan & Amrita Singh

It was at a party at Piano bar, Amrita Singh was there with her friends. Amitabh Bachchan walked in with Danny Denzongpa. Jaya Bachchan was abroad at that time. After a while Amrita was ready to leave and she walked up to AB and Danny to say bye, AB insisted she stays back. Amrita stayed back and after a while started flirting with Danny, who was looking dashing. Danny asked Amrita for a dance and one thing led to another and they got closer. Thats when AB struck. He pulled Danny forcibly and pulled Amrita and forcible embraced her passionately and smooched her hard on her lips. He held on to her tightly for many minutes. Amrita was shocked and speechless. She distangled herself from his arms and ran to the rest room. AB followed her and tried to tell something. She said something to him and that blew his fuse. He began cursing Ravi Shastri and Vinod Khanna ( her ex’s) using four letter words. The guests arround had literaly frozen in their places in utter fascination and in pin drop silence and watched the drama enacted.
It was then that mutual friend Ketan Desai intervened and tried to ease the situation. He gently explained to them that they were making a spectacle of themselves. Amrita stormed out of the party. Bachchan friends attempted to hush up the incident. Inner circle of people gossiped about it.
Some of them claimed that AB had developed the hots for Amita after her break up with Vinod Khanna. AB was reponsible for the Vinod Amrita break up. It was he who had instigated her mom against her aging suitor Vinod. Amrita’s mom Rukhsar had unwisely lashed out at Vinod in print and that interview made Vinod get rid of Amrita from his life for good. Being in friendly terms with AB was helpful for Amrita professionally. AB apologised to her after the incident and it was a forgotten incident after that.
