Make no mistake about this show; it IS really ‘Shameless’. With William H Macy playing a drunken dad, who basically doesn’t care about his kids including a black baby, leaves his young eldest daughter, played by Emmy Rossum, to look after these kids. This show has a line up of fresh faces, not all, but it also has some of the best actors such as William H Macy, also known as Felicity Huffman’s husband, who plays the worst father in history. If you thought your dad couldn’t care less, then you have to see William H Macy’s as the father of these kids. Emmy Rossum, who was in the ‘Phantom of the Opera’, will totally surprise you here. She wears minimal makeup and you still find her beautiful as you watch her struggle through life taking care of her siblings and making money. Despite the fact that this show is full of kids and teenagers, ‘Shameless’ is not a show that kids below 18 years of age can watch. I repeat: this is not a children’s show. So watch it alone!

Shameless – A Funny Take on Reality

What I like about ‘Shameless’ – the US TV show is that it’s tries hard to be real. This is not some fancy show with fancy dresses and makeup and all that, it’s no ‘Gossip Girl’. The characters on this show live a real life of poverty and grief, but they have a sense of humor about it. Imagine being all poor with a drunk dad, I’m sure your life wouldn’t be a comedy show, but on this show, this is what the producers try to make it look like. In a way, you are watching something as saddening as these characters, but you don’t really feel sorry for them. In a way, you sort of applaud them for making it through the episode that you are watching.

Shameless – A Popular TV Show on Showtime

I must say, Showtime has some pretty cool shows. I guess, it could be that this TV network doesn’t really care about censoring and all that matters is picturing a show as real to life as it can be. So no points for guessing here that any actor looking forward to working with Showtime has to be really shameless for that matter. ‘Shameless’ is one show that gets going every episode. Somehow the makers of this show, whether it’s the writers or producers, are good at keeping this show really interesting. It’s no surprise that ‘Shameless’ gets renewed as soon as the season’s new episode airs. Now it’s season three and they are already renewed for season four.

Shameless – Great Cast

There’s a really cute guy on this show, Steve, who’s played by Justin Chatwin, who was on another Showtime show ‘Weeds’ before. Steve plays the boyfriend of the main lead Fiona, played by Emmy Rossum. He seems really small and in a way, cute especially in the way that he is totally in love with Fiona. Speaking of Fiona, I’m sure Emma Rossum gives it her all to play this role. She sure looks like she does. I don’t know how many actresses can go all out and be Fiona, especially if they are already pretty in real life. I have to mention Debs aka. Debbie here, she was just a child when this show started and how she has grown with it. I can’t help but think that when you have a show with a cast that features young kids, does that have any impact on their growing up? I surely can’t help but think how these kids are doing in real life. There’s a regular black girl on the show, who plays the best friend of Fiona. Veronica is her name and she is crazy in love with Kevin, a white dude. Before I close on this, Fiona is supported by a group of great actors as her siblings on ‘Shameless’, including Cameron Monaghan and Jeremy Allen White, who play her brothers Ian and Lip on ‘Shameless’.

Shameless the Series

I do hope Showtime keeps ‘Shameless’ for more seasons to come. But more so, I really hope that the writers of ‘Shameless’ manage to make this show as interesting as it already is. It really should be interesting otherwise it’s not worth watching! So far, it’s been worth 40 minutes on every episode for three seasons already. And that is why ‘Shameless’ is a TV show I like!
