Prince Harry and Meghan Markle finally made their first official appearance to announce their engagement in front of the UK media. These pictures and their announcements deserved its own post. In case you missed what we are talking about, take a look at the blind item shared about them right HERE.
Meghan is seen wearing the engagement ring, which was designed by Prince Harry. Like the ring Prince William gave Kate Middleton, this one too had two diamond stones from his mother’s, the late Princess Diana, personal collection.
For someone, who has already been married before, Meghan sure acted that Prince Harry was her one and great love. This is what she had to say in Vanity Fair magazine in September 2017.
We’re a couple. We’re in love. I’m sure there will be a time when we have to come forward and present ourselves and have stories to tell, but I hope what people will understand is that this is our time. This is for us. It’s part of what makes it so special, that it’s just ours. But we’re happy. Personally, I love a great love story.
People didn’t know what to make of this statement. The tabloids said that the Queen didn’t approve while others claimed that an engagement is about to happen before the year ends. And, they were right!
On his part, Prince Harry said he knew she was the one from the first time they met.
Before proposing, Prince Harry had to ask the permission of his grandmother, the Queen, and Meghan’s parents.
Black people are happily rejoicing while some white people are shocked at how the Queen could agree to this. For the record, Meghan is biracial with a white father and a black mother. The rest of the Royals are reportedly “happy” and “excited” about this union.
Trust Prince Harry to actually shake things up in his family, like he has been doing for years. In fact, it’s because of him that Prince William had to be the good boy. It’s hilarious and now it would be fun to watch him settle down because after having lived such a carefree and wild life.
As for Meghan, the real rollercoaster starts now. The UK tabloids have nothing better to do than to start digging up more dirt on her and her family now. Just wait and watch. Hopefully, she’s strong enough to go through all of what is about to come.
Wonder if Meghan’s first meeting with the ladies of the royal family went something like this:
For the record, we were always on Team Prince William and not Prince Hot Ginge. William is/was cuter because he looks more like his mom. There are just better looking ginger guys than Harry, so he ain’t no great catch.
The only thing they both got from their fathers is their bald patch at such a young age. With all that money, why can’t they try hair implants or something? Or maybe they did and it didn’t work.
Anyways, it would be very interesting indeed to see what destiny has in store for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Let’s just wait and see.
I am just waiting for the PR circus to start. The kind where Arpita will hang on to Priyanka, who will hang on to Meaghan, who will hang on to Harry. A huge ‘publicity by association’ ja-mela, where everyone wants a piece of the pie. Let the games begin!

For real?
She definitely wears the pants in the relationship — she just wouldn’t let Harry speak, which was so annoying. And her constant use of ‘incredible’ was sounded so fake, like she was performing.

The interview was so incredibly painful to watch. Like, it was an absolute honor to a) watch this incredibly pushy woman thrust into the limelight because of a love affair. What an amazing surprise! Did I say like, literally falling into our lives, AMAZINNGGG?!
Eurgh.
I find there’s a lot of ‘fluff’ and empty words put in when she speaks, to compensate for her lack of understanding. Despite the volume of what comes out of her mouth, she comes across as rather unintelligent.
Come on woman, you’ve met her twice.
She really reminds me of Sarah Palin who just motorboats through interviews, peppering them with a liberal dose of “incredible”, “fantastic”, “so honored to be a part of.”, etc. in an attempt to sound insightful.
It’s clear that in reality that they do not know each other well. They have only been in a long-distance relationship for the past 1.5 years, and as you know, in situations like these, when you meet a loved one after a while it’s all mushy and romantic, anticipation and sorrowful partings with the promise and longing of seeing each other again. This keeps the flame alive. One only sees the rosy side of it. What they’ve been having are extended getaways or weekend stay-ins. It’s not a ‘stable’ day-to-day relationship. I cannot understand why they didn’t have a proper live-in relationship first, like Will and Kate did to test the waters about what living together would actually be like. Will and Kate even went on extended vacations with each others families and had a chance to bond. Compare this to Harry where he has to beg his family to allow her an invite.
Would you marry or encourage a relative/friend to marry someone they don’t meet/interact with on a day-to-day basis? They really rushed into this. I suppose her age would have something to do with it. I also think Harry has always wanted to settle down, be a father and is getting quite broody seeing his brother have 3 kids already.
It is my firm belief that one should only get married once one is over the ‘honeymoon phase’. They are still in the early, exciting stage where the lover is perfect, flawless and can do no wrong. The reality is that it doesn’t last!!

Another thing, I don’t know if you noticed, she used the word ‘layers’ twice and on both times it didn’t even fit in the sentence.
And the other one being the quote you used.
I found it rather strange that they can’t pinpoint how long they have been together, when it hasn’t been that long even. I can clearly remember events from a year and half ago and when it’s something as momentous as meeting the love of your life, I’d defo remember the exact time. If Wils and Kate said in their engagement interview that they can’t tell how long they have been together, I’d give them a pass as they were together for eons before they got engaged.
Harry has yet to meet Meghan’s dad, which is, again, rather strange.
And the performative gazes into Harry’s eyes… it just made me barf!
I had to re-watch Wils and Kate’s engagement interview and they came across as so genuine, completely in love and just downright adorable. Wils cracking jokes to make Kate feel at ease was so cute!
