In one of the most random news, Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas are set to announce the Academy Award nominations this Monday, March 15.
It’s a bit strange that PC is announcing it because she is expecting her film ‘The White Tiger’ to be nominated. It could be that she might not get a nomination but the film will. We don’t know if people who announce the nominations can end up announcing their own nominations. It’s not that surprising then. Still, it’s a big deal since no Indian actress this famous has had a chance to do that.
Both Priyanka and Nick are currently in London so they will be doing it online unless they plan to fly to Los Angeles and read out the nominations in front of the camera.
Notice her hands in the pap picture above, it’s a perfect attire to wear since you cannot touch anything but then where’s the mask? Oh yes, if there was the mask then the pictures would be worth nothing. Unless she got the vaccine because there are other shots of Nick wearing the mask but not her.
Priyanka was also featured in a newly-released edition of British Vogue Magazine under the ’27 of the World’s Biggest Stars’. It’s a big deal and it’s a nice shot but what’s going on at the top of it? How do you play basketball wearing the ancient Queen’s attire? Seems to me from the comments here and the general coverage of priyanka (or any other female actor who tried or tries their luck in hollywood) in the indian media, is always negative. No matter how much this woman is achieving, there is a snide undertone to everything or just outright discredit to her achievements. Quite shocking, its like you don’t want your talents to go anywhere or spread their wings, but stay put and dry up in your own industry. Sad really.

I would like to know how does PC make things happen for her. It is incredible. She is talented but not Meryl Streep. Does she spend per personal finances to buy honors and stuff ( I doubt it)? We heard about this weeks ago when her book released. It’s most likely going to be a small segment not the one that MM got, like 2 hours. This is in conjunction with her book launch since Oprah does this book club thing. Her story is a first for an Indian actress: famous in India and now famous abroad + the marriage + The White Tiger.
IS she really famous? Don’t think so. She isn’t household name in US. But she is constantly pushing herself. Question is how long? Many like her have faded into oblivion in HW.
She is known but has to do things to maintain that and make people talk about her. See even someone like Tom Cruise feels the need to up his game by getting into a contract relationship in the hope that it will boost his profile. It’s never-ending for these celebs as they crave to be known and talked about.
Networking and PR…Not pissing anyone off, just stay in their good graces. If you make friends with the ones above called the higher-ups, you are set. No one from India is helping her any more that’s why she had to get married to enter a new chapter over there. If you notice, she jumps from one medium to another. She started in music, went to TV and then movies. After that, there was supposed to be the youtube interviews making her the next Oprah, but that didn’t last long. That’s why she’s milking The White Tiger for as long as she can.

That manager thing, now that you mentioned it, PC did an interview for a reputable British paper and that journalist noted how when asked difficult questions or questions about her controversies in the past (when India dropped a bomb in Pakistan that killed people), her PR person will jump in on PC’s behalf while PC just sat there on a pause, like frozen, while the PR-person was telling the journalist to move on to the next question. The journalist found it strange that PC needed to have a third person in the room when he thought it was only the two of them. It seems they want to project that image of her, that she worked hard, she’s a first of her kind and all that. They don’t want any controversy that is going to jeopardize her reputation. They are turning her story into a new leaf, it seems.
Just a quick note that you still need to wear a mask even if you’re vaccinated, as you can still be infected and spread the virus to others. The vaccine just prevents you from getting sick from the virus yourself. And, as we all know, unless you’re wearing an N95, masks are for the protection of others, not yourself.
