Now they are making logo launch a big thing. It used to be trailer was the big thing, then came teaser. After that, was the poster of the film. Next what are they going to do? Actually, it’s not the makers fault. These are all the PR-people’s idea. But the drones coming together and making it happen was beautiful to watch.
So, the Brahmastra logo launch happened yesterday. There was nothing spectacular with the logo. It’s the way they presented it that made it spectacular.

After seeing the snippet that Dharma Productions shared, it is clear this is why everyone relevant in Bollywood is friends with the Ambanis. Wait, is that called being friends? What do you call people you pay to come and attend your kids’ wedding?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E2oWgXsICxU
Anyways, the stars of the film and the director went to the location where the logo was being unveiled with the help of the Ambanis in the form of their private jet. The logo of the film was also unveiled with the help of the Ambanis in the form of their drones. We are just guessing because at their son’s pre-wedding celebrations, the exact thing was done. KJo must have gotten the idea from there and that’s why he sent Ranbir and Alia back with the drones.
Alia kept her fans up to date about what was going to happen.
She took to Instagram and asked fans, โWhy do you think we are going to Kumbh Mela?โ and Ranbir joked โto leave you thereโ.
On a serious note, the actress said: โIt is a special day and it is a supremely special plan from the team of โBrahmastraโ. We are excited about it.
Ayan finally made his Instagram debut. With that, Ranbir might also make his debut just before the film releases. Ayan shared the first look of the film and it’s an anime-sort of poster.
We have one question upon seeing the poster. Did they ever say that this is a film that they are acting in or are they doing it like ‘Avatar’ acting as fantasy characters? Everyone is describing the film as a planned trilogy of fantasy films so there is a huge chance that this will be something like ‘Avatar’. Also, remember. Ayan spent some time in the U.S. to learn about this technology and all that.
Itโs the โBrahmastraโ logo day… Our journey has just about begun and we are at the Kumbh mela, and we are very excited. Look up at the sky,โ Alia said ahead of the logo launch.
Ranbir said: โ(I am) Very excited… canโt match her energy, but super excited.
Are you excited for Brahmastra?
By the looks of whatever Alia has shared, it seems that she is going to be the one carrying this film’s promotions. Of course, she will because she knows how big of a deal this is to her father.
Isn’t it weird how Karan is slowly morphing into a James Bond villain? Or is it the Switzerland background that is creating this vibe?
Also, what is the deal with this pose? Did he get a nostrils job? Did he wax the hair in there? What is he trying to show off with his nostrils?
Looks like the offspring of Bahubali and ADHM. But RK isn’t the right choice to do a Prabhas or Rana. Those guys were massive and hunky. And Alia is really good at cutesy roles but is she going to do a Kangana or Anushka Shetty? Fraid not.
I mean how can they expect us to fall for this fake pr couple. Ranbir is interested in the l’oreal girls, they are more his type, tall and elegant like Sonam, Katrina and Deepika. Alia is cute but it is obvious to even an idiot that she is definitely not his type
Love ur name
Itโs way too early to tell tho this logo teaser came out of nowhere. There have been so many articles on casting alia cause sheโs โage appropriateโ rather than any other reason like talent or merit that iโm turned off from this and any other dharma production, meanwhile ranbir is already 36?!? kjo is a grade a a$$hole, his karma will come around.
Looks like people now like cheap remake of hollywood rather than South remake of BW movie. This movie trailer has not yet released and people are expecting 2000 space odessy and blade runner level of scifii.
And call it Bollywood original shit… I will judge this movie after its released , and if has elemets lifted from HW and it will be called out so.
Auidence have more respect for movies if they are original remakes weather it is South or Hollywood remake.
But selling lifted version of Hollywood and calling it differenr genre is pathetic.
@PK, with great respect, picture abhi aayi bhi nahi hai, already we are assuming it will be a hollywood rip off? It is a convenient way to dismiss someone’s opinion by framing it as elitist and anti-Bollywood or anti South Indian remakes. No one said any such thing. A good potboiler, if entertaining and fun should be celebrated as such but tastes may differ. And yes, if it is a Hollywood rip off it should be called out as such. I am excited about Brahmastra and so are lots of ppl. I am not expecting Kubrick levels of greatness but a decent well-made franchise would be a step forward. Why saying this has triggered so many people,I have no idea. Peace.
@Anon
I dont know why are you getting defensive , i see comments here how BW shud be rid of total dhamaal type movies . I dont see you going and offering them the same gyan .
Exatly my point ” picture Kya ? Poster bhi nahi aayi ” . “No one said any such thing” ? are you sure ?
Maybe its your excitement that you missed some comments here. I have a very clear understanding of what is original and what is rip off trying to sell off as original. I have my own feelings and opinions just like you like “lots of ppl”
Taste’s always differ and this is a great answer to people who sound elitist and think somehow masala movies are repulsive and bringing BW down…
All blockbuster hits deal with base level emotions Dangal, PK, Sanju (this has everything from drugs to debauchery) , DDLJ , Bajrangi Bhaijan etc these are as masala as Dabangg and co except that different strata of audience watch it more than the other.
A hollywood- esque trilogy with fantasy and science fiction running into each other with no HW rip off elements made in bollywood …i will believe it when i see it. Lastly i am saying my own opinions here like lots of other ppl , i see nothing here yet…
“All blockbuster hits deal with base level emotion” Exactly my point really. In order to be a hit, the film will have to appeal to everyone, not just ppl eager for Sci Fi like myself. Issme galat kya bola?
But a Total Dhamaal and Judwa 2 and Race 3 are bad films. Technically unsound films and nonsensical script. Total Dhamaal used a green screen to show locations for god’s sake (and yes, I saw it in the hall). They have done good business but if someone didn’t like it and said so, I see nothing wrong with that. Saying so isn’t even dissing the audience because these films might do ok business but the films that you brought up that did great business- Dabangg, Dangal..even Gully Boy- they are commercial films that have done well because there’s a core connect AND they are well made films. It wouldn’t hurt to have more films like that. That was my only point and it still applies to Brahmastra. And it’s not about Hollywood vs Bollywood..the former makes a lot of nonsensical films too.
Not getting defensive but some unnecessarily hostile things were said in the thread below where i had brought up Sci Fi and you were drawing from that debate. So was just offering my perspective. Not at all attacking you for your opinion. Anyway, apologies for butting in.
@Anon….That is alright. Bollywood makes certain movies and assign genre in a lame way…for example ZERO is by no stretch a space movie , it had all bollywood actors come along in a BW setting and a dwarf who is an asshole jerk and never experiences the downside of it…he gets every chick he wants and finally he goes to MARS for Loovee…a shallow one at that , he did not go for science . Indian viewers rightly rejected it pseudoness .
Atleast Thugs movie was panned as soon as trailer was out, Race 3 atleast created some laughs and parody post release…actually Race 3 trailer was butt of all jokes.
But ZERO was not even worth some laughs . Public went into race 3 knowing what it is…coz they were okay with some silly thrills and were laughing at the whole farce going out of control.
But when you want to make a movie and make audience to think , then filmmakers have to Beware … a thinking audience will not accept crap in the name of science and fantasy.
Zero did not fail coz indians cannot grasp the concept of space … its not even a space movie.
Why was Alia so hyper during the logo launch? And Ranbir kept swatting her like a fly. She needs to find some self-respect and get out of this relationship before he sucks that energy out of her.
Maturity come with age and experience not by living in bollBolly bubble. Alia grew up on the bubble and for a while has been coping bebo so that intelligent answers are not expected from hence the hyper teen bebo she ia
Bebo is at least original and authentic her ways. She can be endearing at times even in her most bimbette moments. Alia is annoying. I Loled loudly at your โswatting like a flyโ comment. So true though.
This is Ayan’s dream project. The thing with dream projects is that they usually fail to live up to expectation when directors/actors try something that is out of their comfort zone. Ra.One was SRK’s dream project, Fan was Maneesh Sharma’s dream project, Bombay Velvet was Anurag Kashyap’s dream project. The only person who aced his dream prject afaik is SLB with Bajirao Mastani and the credit mostly goes to the fact that it was not his first historical costume drama.
Regarding Simmba, it was a well-made brainless massy masala movie that was entertaining unlike Race 3, Tugs or Zero. That was the reason the movie was a hit. Last year we have seen that even Khans (the biggest superstars) can’t sell bad movies. Same goes to Sanju. The movie worked because Hirani knows how to make an entertaining massy commercial movie.
Accepted but that’s a very big and slightly baseless assumption to make..that “all passion projects fail”. There are many that were wildly succesful..biggest examples are Lagaan, Dev D (he sat on the idea for years), Mughal e Azam, Titanic, Avatar, Omkara /Haider and any film ever made by Francis Coppola.just to name a few.
Ra One, Bombay Velvet and Zero were bad films. Period. If Brahmastra is a bad story it will fail. Rest is all speculation. Simple as that. I hope it’s a good film and that it does well. Will be a quantam leap for Bollywood if done right. If not, it will flop.
Dev D was Abhay Deol’s concept, not Anurag’s
@lol they co wrote it. But it was always Kashyap’s idea and then Abhay came on board and fine tuned it making bolder and more sexualised
@anon I did not say all dream projects fail. I said they usually fail when directors make movies out of their comfort zone. And did no prediction whatsoever over the bo fate of the Brahmastra simply because I make no such predictions before I see the trailer.
Omkara and Haidar are critically acclaimed movies but Omkara was a flop and Haidar did average business box office wise. Same goes for DevD bo wise it did average business. And they are not big budgeted or movies out of the director’s comfort zone.
I said afaik SLB was the one who made his dream project work. So add Lagaan to the list and all the other directors who made their dream projects hits. Avtar is trademark James Cameron movie not something out of his comfort zone.
Actually Avatar and every film made by James Cameron is out of his comfort zone because he creates wildly different universes for each film. The technology he used to create another planet in Avatar had literally never been used before. Re: Dev D it was a clean hit as per Taran Adarsh and as a Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay/commercial romance film was pretty much outside Kashyap’s ouevre. He had not made any commercial film till then.
So still not convinced that these kinds of films usually fail..comfort zone or no comfort zone. A bad film fails. But yes you are correct..we should wait for the trailer before saying what will fail. I am pretty excited for this magic realism/sci fi thing so i am hoping they do get it right
Avator is a science fiction/ fantasy/action movie. James Cameron already directed science fiction/action movies such as Alien, The Abyss, Terminator series. So the technolgy used maybe new the universe he created maybe new but directing a sci-fi/action movie is not something new for him. It is the genre he work with mostly. His movies are always larger than life made on big budgets, vfx high. Titanic is an epic romance/period film is something new for him that I agreed with.
Regarding DevD, according to Box Office India the movie is an average so if Taran has given a hit verdict there is a conflict regarding its bo verdict within the trade. DevD is not a full on romantic movie. It is a romantic black comedy It maybe commercial by Kashyap’s standard . Also lets say the genre is out of his comfort zone even then the movie is not a huge hit that some trade annalysist call it an average.
The examples I gave in my first comment sums up what I meant with ‘dream projects usually fail to meet the expectation when the directors/actors work out of their comfort zone’. New genre, big budgets, big stars, new technology all out of their comfort zones in these cases. It does not mean that I think Brahmastra will fail or everyone who make a passion project out of their comfort zone will fail but in most cases they do is a mere observation…You are right with a bad film fails. But when people say so and so is their dream project the expectation of the viewers also tend to increase, alot of hype and buzz is created yet the directors fail to come out with a good film is an observation and I know it is not solely based on that film being a passion project but passion/dream projects tend to create a lot of expectation when they are nof people do tend to overtly critisize such projects.
Regarding Brahmastra as I said before I will reserve my judgement till the trailer come out. But if the movie failed to meet the hype it created this movie will be thrashed and bo would be worse than Tugs or Race 3 or Zero for sure. If well made and clicked with the audience it could be a blockbuster.
I was really optimistic about Zero even. Even when commentors here trashed the teaser/trailer I was like I think it would work and even watched that movie in the theatre eventhough the wom was negative and hardcore SRK fans thrashed the movie. After watching the movie I agree it was a really bad movie. Tugs and Race 3 have no desire to watch.
@Monalisa – ok I see your point. Yes I agree that risks are huge and it can go either way..which is what I had also maintained. It has to have all the elements of the genre and also be massy. Very tricky balance. But still as a sci fan I am rooting for it.
Regarding Zero, I have a personal theory that space films rarely do well in india..they just dont connect and for some reason go into bizarro territory. Nothing to back it up but just my observation. I think Brahmastra has space elements, it will go south pretty quickly!
it’s a real throw-up isn’t it. on one hand Ayan is young, hip. like @Anon I too loved YJHD and i thought it was a fairly dramatic move up in terms of scale and production values compared to Wake Up Sid. Ayan also seems like he watches all the Marvel/DC stuff so hopefully this wont be as cringe as Krish or Ra.One. Plus he’s spent so many years on it so hopefully he used that time well and the script is tight.
the risk is its over ambitious. like now they’re talking about some ancient power tied to Hindu mythology which will be used by the hero to bring about world peace(!!) plus its trying to be an epic love story…. it sounds like they’re trying to pull in too many genres – sci fi, mythology, world war kind of scenario, romance…. it could well be a complete disaster. but lets hope not! i still dont plan to see it in the theatres (just to stick it to KJO) but am looking forward to reading the reviews and of course Admin’s take on the trailer ๐
PS speaking of avatar where the hell is the sequel?? and where on earth is sam worthington dude just vanished ….
PS for sci fi fans the next Chris Nolan movie has been announced for a summer 2020 release ….yayyyyy !
Couldn’t they just launch themselves in Space and never come back??? Hmmmmm..wishful thinking…
lolllll !!
I trust Ayan is competent, but unforutnately, KJo feels only link ups work to sell a script. I hope the hate RK-Alia couple get doesnt put audiences off the film.it should have been marketed more for its content
Moreover, alia – rk interaction run up to the logo launch blew the cover of this’ couple’ . I feel RK desperately wants to disassociate himself from Alia, shes isnt doing any good to his image or to his alpha male/casanove image either.
Kjo has probably realised he cant control RK like his dear Alia
Alia was mentored and molded by KJo as a teenager and she owes him her career. She has to listen. RK is a 36 year old man who lives life in his terms and doesnโt owe KJo anything. In fact KJo seems besotted by him. Alia is going to end up real hurt.
This logo launch seemed rushed and haphazard. It crossed my mind that all this kumbh mela related stuff could have been last minute damage control to deflect attention from Kangana’s comments and bad press. But who can say? It’s just Dharma does everything with a bang and this seemed suuuuuuper low key.
I donโt think anybody cares what Kangana says anymore. she is a nautanki like KJo.
Logo looks like Doordarshan. hope Brahmastra is good. We need more genres to work. RK and Alia are fantastic, just not together so hopefully Ayan delivers.
This has to work else Simmba 5, Singam 3 banate rahenge Bollywood.
@newgirl… people do are about what Kangana has to say…watch the conclave interview….she is definitely not like Johar…..n I hope nepos brahmastra flops….big time….Karan Johar made simbaam…any success for dharma means more crap movies …
@NewGirl- I think the film might work, just a gut feeling. Keeping my feelings about the overhyped fake romance aside, purely going by Ayan’s skill, he’s pretty talented and can make it work. Wake Up Sid..for its time was a very sweet and refreshing rom com and I loved Yeh Jawaani..both actors performed the hell out of very “basic” hero-heroine parts and it somehow was able to convey a great vibe..that madness of feeling young and like the sky is the limit versus when life finally catches up and forces you to mature in your late 20s. It was no Dil Chahta Hai, it was a massy film but I still felt it spoke to a particular time in our lives. I remember my friends and most ppl I know loved it too.
Brahmastra has a difficult task ahead..please the magic/sci fi loving fanboy.girls, have great, Tumbad style visuals but at the same time, be a masala crowd pleaser. But I think it will be a step ahead in Indian cinema at least, so that like Gully Boy, it can set a precedent that a big budget film need not always be a Singham or a Total Dhamaal. I think India really needs a sci fi style genre. No clue if it will do well across the board but Im bracing myself for KJO’s annoying PR blitz and RK style blinds.
wonder what is so wrong with SIMMBA and SIngham…? There is huge market for these movies dont those ppl deserve entertainment ? Its like saying rich and intelligent people only deserve to live…such kind of ideas lead to eugenics like mentality …
If wake up sid is a classy film then i guess not many people have really seen classy films. The other day I stumbled upon a scifi movie forum and niche movie forum … I bet a lot of us cannot even catch the premise and nuances of those movies …so lets get off this high horse.
If high budgeted Bhramastra has to be a HIT then even the audiences who watch SIMMBA and SINGHAM should also watch it.
SIMMBA and SINGHAM like movies will be made if or not Bhramastra becomes a Hit. Oh btw Yeh Jawani is a trash love story and I cud not watch it for 10 mins except for songs…idiotic cliches like girl turns a beauty once she removes her glasses… how is that tripe better than SIMMBA ? Atleast SIMMBA is open and straight fwd about what it is.
Woah there. Never said anything about Wake Up Sid being a classy film, I said refreshing for a romcom. Did not bring up Simmba . I saw Singham and thought it boring and not even entertaining. You didnt like Yeh Jawaani, that’s your opinion. I shared mine. Hey Kiran, just a request pls..dont lecture me about “high horse”. I am a film lover and we are all free to share our thoughts without being made to feel like it is some “high horse”. Let’s keep it civil. Thanks ๐
Ps- Is this one of those Ranbir’s film vs Ranveer’s film things again? I am not interested in that discussion and I am genuinely tired of explaining that I enjoy both actors’ films. And yet everything is a perceived diss to Ranveer? I find it tiresome. So pls dont include me in that. If you were addressing @Newgirl, would be helpful to say so. Thanks.
Last thing- what I had originally said in my post was- if Brahmastra has to do well it will have to appeal to the masses (ppl who watch Singham and Simmba..which includes me also. I just didnt like Singham and that’s right to say so) as well as the genre fans (also me). So your comments about eugenics and not getting “real sci fi” were a little out of line. Pls read what I wrote. I would appreciate little less anger in the responses and pls take my comments at face value. It is not intended as some pseudo intellectual insult.
@ Anon … I make it a point to use someone’s handle if i intended to say something to them. I responded to this thread by taking several points from different posters … unfortunately the reply mechanism works that way . Thanks for asking me to be civil…let me take the liberty to tell u do not jump to ur own conclusions in haste.
Oh btw i could reply to any thread and it had ur post in it…i understand ur excitement for the movie but seriously I did not include u in any discussion. I generally join a discussion if i am interested but i have no idea how u feel i am somehow interested in starting one with you. I dont even know which @Anon ur in other Anon’s here.
Ok understood. You quoted me liberally and accused me of a lot of things. I did NOT mention Simmba at all. Again I was not trying to pick a fight. I didnt say I didnt want to engage WITH you. I said I didnt want to engage on that topic.
I still dont understand what I have said or done to get this reaction. Could you help.me understand? Would appreciate it. If you disagree you can say so, without being so rude. That is all.
So thatโs why my comment was downvoted… Simmba. I was wondering what was wrong with what i said…
@New Girl- it would appear that way, unfortunately ๐ Cheers!
U got down voted for what u said about Kangana too ….
@Anon – yup. . ๐
I said Simmba/Singham cuz both these movies are remakes of South movies and we deserve atleast an original story and Bramastra, looks like nothing that has been attempted in Bollywood before.
It wasnโt a dig at Ranveer Singh or Ajay Devgan & iโm going to ignore the rest. ๐
“Did he get hostrils job” rofl good one admin
I would have been if it were any other actress apart from Alia. I wish they had casted Deepika opposite Ranbir. But Deepika’s presence would shift considerable focus onto her on screen because she is a strong screen presence compared to Alia. Height and personality wise they make a really hot pair. Alia looks like a child in front of RK. She is better suited for Varun, Ayushmaan, Shahid in terms of height and personality. Ayan makes good movies so I think he will do a good job.
Itโs better not to,with deepika the PR would have been a lot worse that what we have to suffer with ranbir alia.with deepika 4 people would have a quadrangle love story.i wish people relied on simmba style promotions, clean and only based on the film material.no extra marital affairs,no triangles,no cheating rumours.
Yeah admin..his nostrils can be used as tunnels for our planned Bullet Train..khekehkhekeheee…and what’s with those cheeks?? Looks like all life got sucked out of him…he has rchd his Menopause I guess…
Hahahahaha…Karan’s pose is hilarious! When does the trailer come out? I guess we will know then if there is any hope for this movie.
People rejected this fake pr couple directed by kjo I have a feel that the movie will flop hard,Ranbir looks so bored and annoyed with Alia
Who does he think he is…omg!..can’t stand kjo n his dumb poses…is he delusional or what?..looks like a joke in puffed sleeves all pouty…this guy disappearing would make bollywood such a better place…
That wannabe Rami Malik is too much sore for the eyes.
I am having a funny feeling this movie will be a great flop.
Lololol. Love your own inputs apart from blinds n articles or photos .
Kjo just did an expensive nose job n got It chiseled n now needs go pose in ways to show off his very “Heath ledger” type eeeg gay swag. Lolol
One cartoon who keeps me laughing with his sartorial choices n his girly girly pouty photo shoots.
More like James bond villain’s a$$๐คฎ .this guy is soooo cringeworthy ๐
I bet he has done face enhancement n so proud about It. Some slimming implants go define jawline and give it the perfect sharp oval face .lol apart from his lasers n peels for a gorachikna face n a rhino plasty job n fillers.
Lolol.
Have so many dermatologists as frnds who tell me stuff and I can so point out now;who has fine what?
