The trailer of Padmavati is probably the most beautiful visual you will see this year

Beauty and beautiful are two words we are going to use to describe the trailer of ‘Padmavati’. Though, this looks more like a teaser than a trailer because the same type was release for ‘Bajirao Mastani’; just music playing in the background with beautiful scenes being show. The visual in this trailer is just beautiful. It makes you want to go back and live life during that time until you realise that these ladies had to jump into a fire to kill themselves when their husbands lost the war!

The other period movie that was released this year was ‘Baahubali 2’. It was equally hyped and lived up to the expectations, but now it’s time for the long-awaited ‘Padmavati’. Sanjay Leela Bhansali wanted to keep the storyline hidden, which is why it’s just a visual trailer. There’s no specific introduction to the characters, just beautiful scenes being displayed in front of us. And damn, does Ranveer Singh look wild? He doesn’t look like a king, he looks like someone who lives in the jungle. You wouldn’t want to be alone with him and yet, you would want him to save you if ever you are lost in the jungle because he looks like someone who can take on any animal, let alone any man! We can’t really say more, so all you have to do is just watch the trailer.

    1. Bad trailer. Shahid looks like a baby not a Rajput king. Dp looks beautiful and it seems she has given the role her best effort. Ranveer is a superstar in it, as expected. they shudve added, more dialogues. Bajirao trailer was so much, better than this!

    2. yes on the visuals. No doubt ranveer is a good actor. As are shahid and deepika. But the trailer’s little bit throwback to my liking. Does it have to be so blatantly black and white? SLB could have let the viewers discover for themselves the evilness of Khilji and presented it somewhat undiscriminatingly like troy or wolf of Wall Street. Little mystery left for the viewers now.

      1. Do u really expect subtlety from slb?? There are scenes in his previous movies which ate so obvious it makes, me cringe. Btw did u see the scene where there is saffron gulaal on ranveer/ khiljis face? “and also where he is eating raw meat. I hope slb is not going to offend Muslims wt this movie.

        1. I googled alauddin khilji and he seems to have been a horrible man. But it still brings to mind interviews of remarkable actors like Michael fassbender when he portrayed the slave owner Edwin epps in ’12 years a slave’ that he needed to see things from the character’s point of view, no matter how evil the character and that person will not necessarily know he was evil. And boy, it was a delight to watch him in that role. But in slb’s movie we already see ranbir is portraying slb’s point of view and making it too caricaturesque. Btw I like watching trailers more than the movies and ‘Saawariya is the last Slb movie I watched and it is my favourite among his works. It’s like watching a play, you feel the invisible director in every scene, and gives the feel of a broadway show not that I have ever been to a broadway show, But I am guessing here. It’s one of a kind, audiences know the actors are acting and they are not making us believe they are those characters, we feel the actors know they are acting, and the whole set up is like a stage.

          1. It is true what you are saying. His earlier movies were like watching a drama on stage. Whether it was Khamoshi or Black, it was like being there with the characters and watching them perform. Perhaps, the failure of Sawaariya killed that flame in SLB and he chose to go bigger and more commercial.

          2. Omg saawariya was so bad so boring it was torture. Thank god slb learned his lesson from that dud and loser hrithik starring guzaarish and made raam leela. My favorite slb movie is hum dil de its ajay ash and salmans best performance.

    3. Ranveer has definitely soared with this film. He intrigues in this trailer. By that I mean, he seems to be the only person worth watching this in the theater for. I find the movies to be the only place I can take Ranveer’s drama. Otherwise, he is off-putting to me.

SLB’s visualisation is always a treat to watch.

I can’t really make out much of Shahid’s character. It looks like he’s ready for a loss. I do think Shahid can act when the role is right, so I hope this works for him. On second thoughts, if he gets praised he will start talking to the press and say mundane shit and (worst of all!) bring his wife out to parade her in the press, and then she’ll say dumb shit.. I dread that.

As for Deepika, I didn’t find her suitable in bajirao Mastani, I found her underwhelming here too, I don’t think she’s terribly bad at acting per se but I wonder why she gets cast in some movies. I would not cast her in period films. What was SLB thinking? She must be SLB’s current obsession, like Ranveer is, or she must have really good PR and film agents. They must be damn aggressive with all of it, to their credit and hers, of course. But she’s coasting on her looks, really. Anyway, make hay while the sun’s out. Hope she gets better in the film.

    4. Ranveer is in a different league now. He stole the show for sure. I’m sure Shahid will do a good job too. But Deepika , she wasn’t as good as they praised in Bajirao. She’s gorgeous, no argument on that. I sincerely hope that she’s done a better job this time.

      1. Ya pc was the better actress in bajirao for miles. But maybe thats bcuz her role had more scope. Dp job in that movie was to just look gorgeous.
