Aamir Khan’s next, ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’, is finally ready for release! The movie, which has been in the making before the pandemic happened, is finally going to be released in cinemas on August 14.
The film, adapted from the famous 1994 Tom Hanks’ film ‘Forrest Gump, stars Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Mona Chopra and Naga Chaitanya.

Honestly, it’s a nice trailer! We have never seen the original so can’t really comment on the similarities but it is weird how for years people have been saying Aamir looks like Tom Hanks and then he goes ahead and remake such an old but super famous film of Tom. It’s weird!
Aamir’s depiction of his character in the film is so similar to his character in ‘Dhoom 3’ and some parts, a bit like his ‘PK’ character. What’s worst is, his brother Faissal Khan had a film released where he played the actor and was also the director of the film. Faissal appears to be who Aamir drew inspiration from to play that character in ‘Dhoom 3’. So it appears that Aamir has been inspired by both Tom Hanks and his brother Faissal to play this character in ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’.
To top it off, the extensive use of VFX just to make Aamir look younger is….creepy! Not as creepy as a woman younger than him playing his mother!
In case you are wondering how similar it is to the original…

This one seems to have more heart! Maybe because it’s Tom Hanks in it!
Rumor has it, Aamir roped in the other Khans to make a special appearance in the film.
Wonder what made Aamir want to remake this film for the Indian audience? Most people have seen it already so what was the point? Also, is this the last film Kiran Rao will produce with Aamir Khan Productions?
