When the son thinks like the father

We don’t know if any of you know who this guy is, but we felt that it was important to address what he did. He’s quite active on Social Media and when this incident happened, he literally spent his time defending his dad online. It’s hard to think how he did what he did because the first time around, he apologised on his dad’s behalf and said he doesn’t think like his dad. It seems it might have just been an act because on the second time that it happened, he opted to childishly support his father by bringing other women down. If there are people like his dad in politics, women in India will never go far in their freedom. Men like him think in such a way that you wonder what they must really think in their mind when in the open they are saying these kind of things. What kind of thing, you ask? Well, take a look.

Tasteless and Lewd Comments Against Women

Abu Azmi, Samajwadi Party leader, commented the following about rape in 2014:

Under Islam, rape is punishable… any woman if, whether married or unmarried, goes along with a man, with or without her consent, should be hanged. Both should be hanged. It shouldn’t be allowed even if a woman goes by consent.

His son, Farhan Azmi, then responded:

We cannot be discussing these things in front of TV cameras. I have spoken to my father about the comments. I stand against every person who is insulting a woman.

That’s well- said. He did talk to his dad, but there’s a huge change his dad couldn’t care less about what Farhan advised him since he went to the media earlier this year with this statement in addressing the recent string of alleged sexual assaults during New Year eve celebrations in Bengaluru:

Partying late night in half attire, blindly following western culture, has never been our culture. Ladies hailing from well-to-do families…they come out in decent attire and mostly with their family members. But when few women in half dress come out on streets at late night with their friends, such incidents do occur. In these modern times, the more skin women show, the more they are considered fashionable. If my sister or daughter stays out beyond sunset celebrating December 31 with a man who isn’t their husband or brother, that’s not right. If there’s gasoline, there will be fire. If there’s spilt sugar, ants will gravitate towards it for sure.

You can see how the public’s patience with him is literally going to burst. People on social media went mad at his words. Bollywood actress, Esha Gupta, like many other Indian women were mad at what Abu Azmi said and Esha went on Twitter to show her displeasure through this tweet:

Esha, in a way, is right. What else can you say about an old man, who has been saying these things about women? Blame only the women and say nothing about the men.

For some reason, his son thought that he should defend his father on social media. There could have been a nicer way to deal with this, but we guess maybe it was a bad day for Farhan since all he did was reply to Esha in defence and retweeted other people’s lewd comments about Esha, who’s a former Miss World. The irony is, Farhan is married to Bollywood actress, Ayesha Takia. That’s the irony! Abu Azmi’s wife and daughters cover themselves from head to toe, so you can imagine how he felt about his son’s choice of wife. Either way, that’s not the topic here today. Sooner or later, the son does turn out like the father. How can you trust these men to take India forward when all they want is to take women backward and men forward.

    1. Shitty people like these are the ones who end encouraging men to rape girls. Islam allows rape? Is he kidding me ? Was he the one who wrote the Quran? And Farhan, maybe your wife should give you a lecture on how to talk and address women, back off and mind your business.
